  • Tesla’s approach to using giant casting machines, nicknamed Giga Press, has attracted many competitors of Tesla and some of them are going to apply them into their manufacturing process! Let's take a deep dive into that!
What’s this “Casting Machine”? - If you are a hardcore automobile fan and know quite a bit about their manufacturing processes then you must be familiar with the word casting machine otherwise like most you don’t have any idea! So, when it comes to a car manufacturing process it includes some huge procedures which are followed quite strictly to ensure the best product. In traditional factories, many small pieces of stamped metal are welded or glued, or crimped together to make the chassis of a car. But as Elon Musk is a man with a creative mind he didn’t want to go with the traditional process. Tesla thought it might be a better way - combining all those stamped pieces into one casting that was stronger, lighter, and less expensive to make.

It’s not “Tesla’s Giga Press”. It’s from IDRA, an Italian machine maker. They made it possible.

Nextt: Tera Press that casts a whole building in one shot. You only need to input the number of floors, the number of apartments, and just press the 'Press' button.
The future of if employment has bever been brighter.

I’ll never forget the day in 1945 when Tesla invented high-pressure aluminum injection casting. Elon must have invented the Time Machine first.

giga presses are made by Hong Kong based LK Machinery, which has several factories in China, including a subsidiary in Italy. These giga presses are not invented by tesla.

Idra group has been around since 1946 and yeah tesla definitely did not invent the gigapress.

If you crash your monocoque you need a new giga part pressed.
