I've been listening to this for over a decade and only just noticed that the outro melody starting at 26:06 is a remix of the RSE opening theme. Such a subtle and brilliant choice. Like it's leading into the next big adventure
It's been about eight years since I've listened to this. I had completely forgotten about it until recently. By sheer luck, I found it again. It's just has good as when I heard it for the first time when I was 14. A lot has changed since then, but my love for Pokemon hasn't.
i used to watch this all the time as a kid now over ten years later ash finally got a pokemon league championship victory that most people can agree on actually counting and the last episode with him being the main character aired about a week ago in that context even though this video is related to gen 2 rather than pokemon as a whole it still makes me nostalgically wistful now we have new protagonists we get to watch and while thats a very good thing and im very confident this series is going to be very good especially by pokemon mainline anime standards i still really miss ash in a weird way despite having access to over two decades worth of episodes and movies with him in it and all the seasonal rots and questionable decisions the last 6ish minutes of this really just give me that feeling at the moment

I always thought they were supposed to be joke titles, especially considering that many of them don't even use anything that remotely resembles the original name of the song and look like they were modeled after memes.
They mostly reference other notable game lines. The most obvious example is "All your Gym are [belong] to us", referencing the all your base meme from Zero Wing. Others include "Don't cry till it's over", referencing the tagline for the MOTHER series ("No crying until the end"), and "Still, the world is not changed", referencing the Chrono Trigger game over scene.

It's been about eight years since I've listened to this. I had completely forgotten about it until recently. By sheer luck, I found it again. It's just has good as when I heard it for the first time when I was 14. A lot has changed since then, but my love for Pokemon hasn't.

i used to watch this all the time as a kid
now over ten years later ash finally got a pokemon league championship victory that most people can agree on actually counting
and the last episode with him being the main character aired about a week ago
in that context even though this video is related to gen 2 rather than pokemon as a whole it still makes me nostalgically wistful
now we have new protagonists we get to watch and while thats a very good thing and im very confident this series is going to be very good especially by pokemon mainline anime standards
i still really miss ash in a weird way despite having access to over two decades worth of episodes and movies with him in it and all the seasonal rots and questionable decisions
the last 6ish minutes of this really just give me that feeling at the moment

It's an awesome Pokémon medley.
I always thought they were supposed to be joke titles, especially considering that many of them don't even use anything that remotely resembles the original name of the song and look like they were modeled after memes.
They mostly reference other notable game lines. The most obvious example is "All your Gym are [belong] to us", referencing the all your base meme from Zero Wing. Others include "Don't cry till it's over", referencing the tagline for the MOTHER series ("No crying until the end"), and "Still, the world is not changed", referencing the Chrono Trigger game over scene.
