This is probably my very much favorite tune of the 4 Seasons, besides, "My eyes adore you, and,Ronnie. They're wonderful!!! Especially since I grew up with them just starting High School and also hearing them when I was 14 Yrs.old!! One of the best Summers I had, ever!!!
I have loved listening to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons ever since I was a little boy. I know he is still doing concerts and I wish I could see him while he's still performing. I wish I had the money to see him, no matter where he's playing, but I just can't afford it.
I just saw the play a week ago. Local theater. My cousin playing Tommy. Prior, I kinda knew the music. Now, it's all I want to hear. Finding myself becoming a big fan of their sound. I missed it the first time around. This was my mom's music era.
I work spotlight for the Jersey boys at a local theater and its interesting watching the original music videos bc for this song specially it’s a faster tempo in the play I work for then the original song
Sitting in the back seat of my parents' station wagon, I always thought he was singing, "With a bird in love inside." In my defense, it was long before any knowledge of a burning love..and I DID really like birds.
In First Grade I thought the Pledge of Allegiance said, " ... for the Republic for Richard Stands ..." I wondered for years thereafter who the hell Richard Stands was ...
This bring back my childhood gosh he was so cute this is why folk should watch the superb. Jersey boys the movie or the stage, shows both are absolutely brilliant. This vocal is live folks without question one of the absolute greatest and most unique singers that will ever draw breah on this earth it seems every time they sing live they nail it 100% fabulous
Absolutely smashed it guys. I listened to it 3 times the same as the detriot spinners singing it & they were good but you definitely take the title with writing it.Timeless classic.
This band was and remains so next level. It was hard to differentiate back in the AM top 40 days..they almost seemed irrelevant and overplayed. So great..the themes are timeless
Absolutely smashed it guys. I listened to it 3 times the same as the detriot spinners singing it & they were good but you definitely take the title. Well sung.
Thanks so much for posting. It's so great so see and hear all this era stuff, because I've only heard the audio in the past. Now I'm able to both hear and see, I feel privileged. I just hope for all songs of the era, people make arrangements to keep them up and running for the future
The key change near the end is the best part of this song. Also… Does anybody know where the drummer is? Was the drummer part of the four seasons? I assume so but…
@@jessiem276 Frankie is touring right now! I just saw him in Detroit a few days ago. Just look up Frankie Valli tickets and it should show you the show closest to you
One of my favorite basslines to play(as a bass player). The bass player that you're hearing in the record(this is a pre-recorded backing track), is Charles Calello, the 4 Seasons' arranger(very talented guy). The bass player in the video however is Joe Long, who was also a very good bass player(4 seasons never had a shortage of good musos did they?)
Franki's voice and songs are like no other artists..this was #9 then 14 years later, the Spinners made it #1 in the UK and #2 in America..I don't know another song thats done that except maybe Tracy Chapmans Fast Car (35 years later)..by the way The 4 Lovers(right before they became the Seasons) in 1960 were told "no🫤"by a bowling alley they were trying to get gigs at in Union Township, NJ(practically Newark)..name of the bowling alley was The Four Seasons..less than 2 years later Sherry is #1..so you can go from not good enough for a bowling alley rejection to #1 song in America in less than 2 years. Dont believe people that tell you, you aren't talented, that could never make you millions to begin with.
Great to see them performing this live. But are they? I think Frankie is singing live, but is the rest of the band playing or faking it? I hear the horns that don't appear on stage, not to mention no drummer. I think it's a combination of live, recorded parts, and lip-syncing. The band might be playing their instruments but lip-synching the background vocals + recorded drummer/ horns. It's possible it's all live, with drummer/horns offstage. Does anyone know how they used to do it back then?
The thing that's really amazing is hearing an orchestra that we can't see! When that concert clip was shot organs didn't have that kind of music producing ability. Do you hear drums? If so where is the drummer? A great band but as a musical group quite incomplete!
The only real live sound is Frankie's vocals. The rest of the vocals AND music is from the original studio tracks. It's being played over the loud speaker. So, basically, everyone is faking playing and singing except for Frankie and he sounds amazing of course.
This is exhibit A in why we boomers had the best music ever!!!! Take your rap crap wrap it up and shove it, give me real music like the Four Season, every day of the week and a dozen times on Sunday. None of that yelling profanity to one unchanging beat. Give me actual melodies with real lyrics. Baby boomers rule, this is one reason why we do.

Just saw it in Vegas, absolutely loved it!!
The best when I put this song on and cleaning my house I start dancing around love this music the best

1:08 the way he switches from falsetto to chest voice is so impressive! Such a smooth transition!
FR!
This was clean too! 2:03
They don’t make musicians like this anymore
First thing I thought
Love The Music For 55 Years Love Listening To Frankie And The Four Season And The Band
Remembering my youth is easy with Frankie ,not mention nostalgic 😊
This vocal is LIVE folks. Without QUESTION one of the absolute greatest and most unique singers that will ever draw breath on this earth.
It's called "natural talent" ... so rare to be found anymore.
@@RustyBuzzard-pv2ce it’s not rare. It’s still everywhere actually. The problem is the world being force fed pure shit by record companies.
Frankie is awesome. No question about that!
One of the most inexplicably powerful & eternal demonstrations of "COOL" the rock and roll charts ever witnessed.
Woke up this morning with this one playing in my head. Still a fave from childhood. Frankie Valli will be 90 this May! …my how time has gone by 🕰🎶❤️

One of my favorites bands and songs. A great American band. Thanks for the music and memories.
Uma viagem nos tempos dourados!! FANTÁSTICO
Such a sound tribute to the style of the Four Toos, the Spinners had their biggest hit of the Eighties with a cover in dance music style.
Joe Long so joyous! and Bob Gaudio, too cute! Love the 4 Seasons.
Joe took over as bass guitarist when Nick Massi left.
That looks like an old Ampeg bass- and a lefty no less! Old style 'scroll' headstock and F holes in the body. That's a rare instrument for sure.
All thir Songs are timeless beautiful 🎶🎶🎶

I didn't realize they had so many hit songs.
Yep. They were huge.

The Spinners. I like their version.
The Four Seasons was the 1st to sing it. It was their song... 1966.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
Fantastic group.
2022 still AMAZING 👏
Yes indeed
Great song, great group!!
My baby will love this number!
Northern Soul Classics from these guys
JOHNNY TEDESCO BROUGHT ME 2 THIS PLACE !
this brings back my childhood, gosh he was so cute!
I was definitely born in the wrong decade for superb rock music
Blessings always ❤❤
Mr Valli was a hit writing machine!
I love this. The original had all the emotion and the early rock is nice
Love to just close my eyes and listen❤️
Best version
No, best version is by Spinners
Love the movie of the Four Seasons
Jersey Boys❤❤❤❤

Bob Gaudio is the one on keyboards. Bassist is Joe Long.
😁 twanger extraordinaire 😁🎸
Very veryyyyyyyy good😊
Please zoom in on the other seasons too!!!!
1960s Four Seasons...love this song....May 10,2024....60 years later...
Oh I loved Nikki!

I Didnt know this was the original version, or is there another before this one
Nope this is the original
The Four Seasons, eternal

Definitely all track except Frankie. Pretty common practice on TV in those days. But, make no mistakes, these cats delivered live.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love you frankie
When music was music not noise!
I like the Spinner's version! Their song is more danceable and the man with the deep down base tone has a very distinct voice! 👏♥️🫰🏻
Here for the Ampeg bass.
A more impressive vocal from the whole group than the studio if possible...
Ah sweet!!

Nice but The Spinners version is much better.

Opus 17....
Hope he had insurance
Bad bunny left the chat.
I think the spinner’s version is better
The Spinners es igual de buena n
Singing live to a backing track. Instruments not plugged in.
Oh fantastic..but spinners version do sound better..
Frankie Valli and Jay Black, can anyone name a better solo vocalist ? I think not.
This is good, but Disco version by Spinners was absolutelly stunning
Two fake guitar players, one superb keyboard player and one of the greatest on vocals
Eh The Spinners were way better. But this group is still good.
The Derroit Spinners cover version is better 😂
Lip singing no one really playing
Those posers definitely didn't play their own instruments
Who the hell you calling posers😭 Clearly never heard of any of the band members
Nicky left.
