"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a song released in April 1967 written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio. It was recorded as a single by Frankie Valli. The song was among his biggest hits, earning a gold record and reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week. Gaudio was a bandmate of Valli's in the Four Seasons. It was Valli's biggest solo hit until he hit No. 1 in 1975 with "My Eyes Adored You"
Both are excellent songs, but to me this is better than the #1 hit from 1975. It had less competition than the 1967 #2 hit had. 1967 was a groundbreaking year for pop and rock to put it mildly (Sgt Peppers, Are You Experienced, the Doors, etc.).

The first time I became a true fan of this song I had hunted it down along with Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight and Cavatina from the Deer Hunter (1978 Best Picture) soundtrack. It is true Americana and also beautiful & romantic. It's a perfect song from pop's perfect year, 1967. Most of the best rock and pop music seems to be connected to that year somehow.
This is one of the great tunes to come out of the 60s. Frakie Valli's recording of this Bob Crewe/Bob Gaudio song is also one of the all-time great recordings with Artie Shroeck's iconic arrangement.

You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you
You'd be like heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last, love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you
Pardon the way that I stare
There's nothin' else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that it's real
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you
I love you, baby
And if it's quite alright
I need you, baby
To warm the lonely night
I love you, baby
Trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby
Don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby
Now that I've found you, stay
And let me love you, baby
Let me love you
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you

I love how he made eye contact with the ladies. You can tell it warmed their hearts.
Every time I hear Frankie 's songs it brings me back to my younger days. My wife is still with me & and we're dancing once again. I miss her every second of the day & this brings back the happiest times. Thanks for posting!
I saw Frankie Valli back in 2012. No faltering voice, sounded as good as he does in this vid. Just pure brilliance.
Hello how are you doing today ❤
Take a lesson here songwriters...indication of a truely great song is that it never goes out of style.
Why is everyone so bored lookin and the applause so small I would be screaming and shouting Frankie is INCREDIBLY talented!!
+GracefulFlamingo
actually no, they were told to shut up because it was a recording
I would have jumped out and kissed him
@@DrRhyhm nope
@@DrRhyhm it would have been in a recording studio
The Four Seasons And Me it was on a set. And it’s a TV recording not a studio recording lmao
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
[Verse 1]
Pardon the way that I stare
There's nothing else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that it's real
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
[Hook]
I love you, baby
And if it's quite alright
I need you, baby
To warm a lonely night
I love you, baby
Trust in me when I say:
Oh, pretty baby
Don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay
And let me love you, baby
Let me love you
[Chorus]
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
[Hook]
I love you, baby
And if it's quite alright
I need you, baby
To warm a lonely night
I love you, baby
Trust in me when I say:
Oh, pretty baby
Don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay
And let me love you, baby
Let me love you

And my other favorite is "My eyes adored you"
God what a voice Frankie has !! No lip-syncing here. Frankie doesn't need to do that. He's too damn good for that.
Had the privilege to see him in the concert last night and boy at age of 88 he still has it! Incredible endurance and test of time! Best concert ever! Thank you sir Frankie!
I’m 27, I watched “the deer hunter” and I can’t stop listening to this song.
That film made me love this song its been almost 30 yrs
The Deerhunter, yes.
27, and seeing it from a 52 to 60 year old view...stay sharp!
I actually like his accent in the chorus part, it's incredible
Yes
Jersey accent..
No dudo dos veces en declarar esta canción , un clásico de clásicos
I loved hearing the different vocal registers for Frankie Valli's singing in this performance. The first verses were neat, hearing him without his falsetto sound that he often used.
I sang this at karaoke and my late father loved it. I miss you dad, RIP
I'll keep saying this... July 30th 1992 the song was playing after I gave birth ... I sing this to Natasha almost every day... or text her.... It brings tears to her eyes... THANK YOU FRANKIE
Just got done for the first time watching jersey boys, That's how i ended up here!!! In love forever!!
same

kelly M me too and it’s 2019! Why didn’t I watch this earlier??? Now I just wanna go watch it playing on the Strip! I wonder if Tommy is in town???
No autotune, no computer generated noise, just a man with a great voice and men who could play and jam together, in other words.....talent!
Tracked this song after hearing it in the Good Doctor, I'm so glad I did.
Saw him in Charleston SC a few years ago at age 82. He stayed on stage for two hours and sang all the oldies. Amazing!!
This song will never get old
Nah it's old af
This was a huge hit at the absolute peak of the psychedelic era. And there is a cover of it now on mainstream pop/rock radio, summer 2020
The cover is good as well though
There was also another popular cover of this in 98 by Lauryn Hill
The cover is dreadful. Violates this piece of treasured gold.
8.5/10 pretty good I really liked the ending

I'm a Fulham supporter and this is our song. We're going up this year so it's great to hear this. Come on you Whites! I've also love Frankie Valli since I was about 12 twelve years old.
I've heard covers for this song. BUT nobody sings it like Frankie Valle. The best. It's his song. Love it. That voice .I love it. Love him. Always have. Wish he still sings. BRAVO MR VALLE . Love ya. .🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗👏👏👏👏👏👏💝💝💝💝
Our dog Baby had to be put sleep this Wednesday morning. We would sing this song to him and he would love it. I miss my Baby. RIP good old boy. 😔
89 and still performing I adore him he's an icon and his music has accompanied me always.
My husband I got married 5 years ago and this was our first dance. Love this song!
2023 weeks away from 2024 a classic always has been and will always be 👏🏽 Frankie baby 🇮🇹
Frankie oozes confidence. Especially in the last chorus.
2021 still listening to one of best songs ever created!
Hey what’s up
The first time I became a true fan of this song I had hunted it down along with Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight and Cavatina from the Deer Hunter (1978 Best Picture) soundtrack.
Dancing with my love on this song and that too in quarantine. Can never forget this feeling!
God, this is so good. I could die listening to this. Nothing compares to music like this now. Especially live.
I took my father 2 see im in concert , and he & my mom had the time of their life. Miss u pops.. ❤
Love this tune My husband love this too now passed away beautiful to remember xx
