Not religious but was raised in a Christian family, and I have always despised the music, and those annoying idiots who look like they are passing a kidney stone while singing it. Classical worship music was drastically better
I have felt this way for years, that so many worship songs just make me, even as a woman, cringe. So many songs that don’t speak to me, or they make me feel embarrassed to sing. It’s off putting and distracting. They do not represent my relationship with Jesus or the relationship I long to have with Him.
This podcast ruined me as a Christian man 😂🤣. I am drawn to war, battle, and the fierceness of God. I identify with King David and his essence. The whole "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine who comes against the armies of God?... I'll fight him💪🏾. Let's go!!!
This totally hit home for me. Thank you 👊🏾🚀
that is christianity. No man Goes to God because of LOVE they because they see evil and want Gods justicr
This is exactly how I feel about this whole contemporary music movement. I made my channel in order to get hymns back in churches.
I agree with all your points brother except for the metal music. It just irritates me and jujitsu class, just being honest.
This is really good! I have some things to think about! Wow! I appreciate you brother!
Thank you!

Here's the issue. Worship IS Feminized absolutely Jesus is NOT my boyfriend most modern songs are sissified even the men sing like whiney women Also the problem is singing the same pablum lines over and over and over again. Its a FACT
Thanks for this episode it was awesome. I don’t like modern Christian music for the same reasons that you’re discussing in this episode. Because of that it pushed me to start writing my own music. I intend to write music for Church and these are the kind of things that I want to keep in mind. Good work.
Thank you, Jordan!
This is what I've been saying my entire life and nobody ever listened to me. Mad props for including Christian Metal in the solutions category, it's some of the only art from Christians that is unabashedly great and also masculine. ❤️
We appreciate the feedback!
Heard about you from John Cooper's podcast! Making my way through the archives. Any episode recommendations on finding a healthy church for men?
@@masterkalel06 Episodes 004 and 104 tend to be great places to start, but man-friendly churches is a common theme for many episodes.
Awesome! Thank you! Keep it up brother!
I just wanna say good job Kyle. I found you through Alisa Childers podcast. I love music and also prefer hard rock/heavy guitar music. I listen to Christian metal but I also do listen to current Christian worship music. I totally get your points and it resonates with me. What I try to do is just listen to the words and use the music to focus in on Jesus and praise him. Use it as a tool for prayer, connection and worship. The music can be cheesy at times but I just focus on the words and connection. I feel the worship in Heaven to our God will be nothing like the music us humans have produced on earth. It will be next level and I believe we will all love it in Heaven, even us that prefer metal and hard rock music. I gravitate to gospel and r&b worship music too for it moves me more than contemporary Christian music, but again I focus on the word of God and his promises stated in the music. Good job, much respect to you! 👍🙏
P.S.: Shacah is a Hip/Hop & R.B. and Hard Rock fusion band who is aweomse their songs preach the word of God in a funky, inspirational way. I do not think they are still together but their albums are available on YT. Good job!
Never heard of For Today. Musically, they aren't my thing. Lyrically, however, I don't know how much more on-point they could be- to the point where I can tolerate the music.
I don't smile in pictures.
My fake smiles look psychotic so I opt for the angry-looking-man look over the -crazy-looking-smiling-man.
Dig it bro! I’m an artist as well and this is the battle I’m in-contemporary Christian music as it is (largely) needs to be destroyed to The Glory of God. I’m in the process of working on a concept album now called “I, Sinner”. This album aims to offer the soundtrack of someone’s life (me) coming from death to life in Christ-Idolatry destroyed by the Holy Spirit. If your interested I can send you some stuff. Please lemme know, I’d like to hear your thoughts. Thanks again for sharing this podcast. God bless you and this ministry. Godspeed
