I play this guitar since 2015 as my Main guitar. It feels home in every Genre i Put it in, and i played a lot of "Top 40" Gigs with it... I love it!!!

I have one myself, and can honestly say it's amazing for all genres, the vintage pickup and then the modern one help go from those nice cleans to the heavy metal pretty nicely. Paired up with a Marshall amp it's pretty great even for shredding
I would agree with that 100%. The SE models in general are just fantastic bang for your buck guitars under $1000 to say the least. I have yet to play a bad SE model from PRS's Korean Import line. Im just impressed!
Did you ever change the nut? Mice does not stay in tune!

Love the Mikael akerfeldt, with the 24 frets and satin neck. Really sticks out for a PRS singlecut

I got my hands on one of these the other day. Feels awesome to play, but I also had some trouble with it not staying in tune. I wrote to PRS costumer support and asked them about how many copies were made. They wrote back and said they dont keep record of that. But I expect these guitars to get bigger value over the years.
Anders Persson Oh wow! Yeah It’s an awesome guitar. I did the same exact thing contacting them. PRS told me that as well when I called. I was surprised they couldn’t tell me but at least I found out that it’s a 2012 🙂

I got the Fredrik Akesson PRS, and it's dope! May I make a suggestion? Just look up the specs real quick so you don't have to say you're not sure about the body wood, pickups, scale length etc.

I wish I could get my hands on one of these. Not really big on sig models but this is one I would love to own. And the 7 string variant of Christian olde wolbers Jackson cow7.
This one is definitely a unique PRS SE! I wish they never discontinued it as Mikael Akerfeldt himself is still with PRS as far as I am concerned, but the SE line in general is just incredible bang for your buck. Honestly, I don't think I've ever even played a bad PRS SE to tell you the truth :) I'll have to look up that Jackson

yeah this guitar had a really short lifespan, It was being made for only a year or something =(
If I could buy this guitar but as a classic PRS double cut body I would have my perfect guitar for the rest of my life.

AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial there is an official kit from PRS itself. Unfortunately it’s not available in gold but I care more about the tone then the design of the mechanics :)
The part number is „PRS ACC-4337 SE Locking Tuner“. It took me 10 minutes to change and the tone stability improved a lot. The tremolo is still a bit of a risk, but it doesn’t detune anymore for me when doing just bends with my fingers :-)

I've had this guitar for many years and love it. Upgraded it with Schaller locking tuners (gold). That's a good upgrade. Thanks for the video.
Did you change the nut as well to keep it in tune?

Can’t understand how people, talk about changing tuners on this, I have one since 2012, and I never had a problem with it. It’s stay very well in tune. Better than my strats and les paul. May be I had a chance on this ?
Possibly. How a guitar is setup can have an overall effect on tuning stability too.
I had tuning problems at first but it was the Poorly cut NUT. it stays in tune perfectly even when using the bar. it is how you set up and string your guitar (there's a PRS way). I would prefer to change the bridge for a Real USA version (more mass, more sustain and tone) than change the Tuners. Great Guitar!
My M Akerfeld SE remained in tune only after locking tuners were installed.
Anthony, I want to get a Mick Thompson signature series B.C. Rich, any ideas about them? I want it only to play brutal Metal songs, typically Groove-metal
Metal Matt I know of that discontinued signature guitar. It might be hard to find but I know that another TH-camr Levi Clay had one on his channel. Do u like that better than his jackson or ibanez?
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial There is no more Metal looking guitar in existence than a black B.C. Rich Warlock with Widow-maker headstock!!! I checked it out, I can't BELIEVE it has passive pick-ups! That (apart from just having it as a display, SlipKnoT being my favourite band) was the main reason I wanted one, for the active pick-ups to really get that crunchy, heavy metallic groove sound. I guess I'll just have to customise it... *sigh*
@@metalmatt3431 Yeah theres nothing wrong with making something your own. I still want an Ibanez John Petrucci model but they discontinued them 20 years ago that the closest thing I can get to it is a modern ibanez rg prestige model

I’ll just say I tried one at a music store, and it was very neglected. I love prs stuff, and that one was just dead. They never changed the strings, and the neck was just a bit bowed. I have friends that work at musical stores, and they would say don’t buy this one…. It’s cheap and another cheaper prs is available. they changed strings a lot(supposedly) But this one felt a way.. it sounds cool, but man it was abused lol. But every time I went to it just dead strings…. For me it was played a lot, and it was a great guitar, but the store didn’t keep up with it. And that’s happened to me with another prs guitars, I should’ve bought it! This is one, another was like a kinda baritone I think I forgot the name, but sig also…. And man I mis that neck on my hands.😢 if you like it and you know the hardware is good and a bowed neck can be fixed, if it feels good buy it. Lol

I don't' have much money, currently I play a Tony Iommi Signature Series Epiphone SG, but the Mikeal Akerfeld PRS is my dream guitar, Ooeth are my second favourtie band, I even have an Opeth tattoo, so the Opeth logo is a massive plus for me

@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial I LOVE my Tony Iommi Epiphone SG! I wanted one ever since I heard they were being released but it took me a decade to make it a reality. My personal songs transition from acoustic to heavy so it was important to me I got a guitar that could handle both, which the SG does marvellously. It's got Gibson pick-ups in it too
Metal Matt Thats incredible! I kinda wanted to get one not just because its iconic looking but its an SG that has 24 frets 🎸I remember it has gibson pickups. Do they do modern metal well?
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial It's hard for me to say bro, I'm VERY far from an expert, especially as I spend the majority of my time playing acoustic guitar as I'm much better and more impressive to others on it. I can play Benighted and Hope Leaves : )

Cameron Steven I hope so too. Its been too long and his signature guitar is seriously a terrific value! The SE signatures in general are awesome! If you want a similar guitar but with 22 frets, I highly recommend the Zack Myers signature PRS SE. Its got the same neck profile and the playability is damn smooth for $800 new. I even thought about buying one myself.
