    Chef is correct, there's no best tasting beef, there are alot of great beef... I can't eat Wagyu and Hanwoo everyday... to a certain point I can't eat dry aged beef everyday... Wagyu/Hanwoo are too fatty to be consumed everyday, and dry aged beef to a lesser extend, sometimes you just want some regular beef.

    Oh, this place is ten minutes from where I live. I live in Dapsimni, a neighborhood right next door. I know that restaurant. Since it is a very expensive and luxurious restaurant, you can only go there on special occasions such as birthdays. However, a typical Korean beef restaurant nearby has very reasonable prices (however, you should be aware that Korean beef itself is expensive). As a Korean, I can say that Hanwoo is one of the must-try foods when you come to Korea. Other foods I would recommend more are Bulgogi, Korean style seasoned chicken, Galbitang, Samgyetang, and Gamjatang. What these foods have in common is that they are not spicy. If you are a vegetarian, I recommend you bibimbap, gimbap, and Bindae-tteok.

    This video is definitely a gem! After scouring the world for the most exquisite beefs, from the good ol US to Canada to Argentina to Australia to Japan. I've done grass fed, grain fed, grass fed grain finished, wet-aged, dry-aged, whisky-aged, kouji-aged, fish sauce-aged, prime of the prime. I've tried at least 5 different brands of A5 wagyu in Japan and 2 brands of BMS 8+ pure blood wagyu in Australia. A highlight is that once had a BMS 12 Kobe Beef, holy that was something else. EACH great beef from each region truly has its own wonderful merits. BUT you know what is REALLY in my memories after all these years. KOREAN HANWOO beef, exactly as Kang describes, the beefiness + the gelatinous intramuscular fat. And the only place to get it is Korea. PS I enjoy USDA Choice and select nowadays. One can only do so much marbling in a lifetime LOL

    I'm lot more into stuff like butter poached lobster, seafood tower, USDA steak and what not but one of my most favorite food is marinated hanwoo ribs. It's nothing like the LA ribs, because the ones I've tried are carved by hand. My grandmother would always buy me so much at my favorite restaurant even tho it's so expensive ripppp
    PS: although everyone complains how the guy says the beef is so "beefy", I kind of understand what he means. I heard Kobe is very buttery and melty, but Hanwoo has the more rustic, juicy flavor of beef we know, where the flavor is much more concentrated in the best way possible. If any of you guys have the chance to go to Korea, plzzzz try it

Im happy he is spreading Korean cuisine to more people through his show. I just don't think he knows much about Korean food.

    • @JforAll00
      @JforAll00 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Calisoju1 you must be joking. if you think soonduboo, yookgaejang and dukbokee are what represents korean cuisine you know nothing about Korean food. all those are soul food/trend following franchised/street food of Korea. you're basically discussing British food with fish and chips rather than something like beef wellington. The cheese everything you talking about are all under Soul food/Fast food category, so don't even pretend you know Korean beef at the same time. 20-40 dollar person for beef means your either having mid grade imported American or Australian beef. Its fairly easy to find hanwoo specialized bbq places in Korean and Hanwoo would cost you around 60-80 per person no matter where you go unless you're going to 1 percenters like the one in the video. Even top grade imported American beef would cost more than 40-60 per person.

      SliceOfDeath it really is. It’s hard to describe. If you’ve ever had wagyu or Kobe, it’s almost too fatty. disarchitected in general yes. Maybe the super high end restaurant are better in korea but you could get a high end meat in american or in my case australia k bbq for the the price of a middle end kbbq in korea. However this is only base on my experience.

      @@paulusgautama3234 beef in korea is high end and a luxury. korea doesn't have enough land or cows to produce enough beef for the prices to be cheap. you can say korean bbq in american might be more accessible but definitely not better.

      grokker99 never been to kbbq in states but ive been to korean bbq in korea multiple times and comparing it too australian k bbq, honestly the high end kbbq here are better than the high end kbbq in korea meat wise. Korea simply doesnt have that much good stock of meat unless you’re rich to buy the super high end meat. The side dish is a different story tho.

      you know what? wagyu is actually from Korean black cow in Jeju island. and, the best Hanwoo considered in Korea is Chick-So, which has the tiger pattern on it. this cow is super rare. only 3,000 numbers are left on earth. you can eat the Chick-so in S.Korea, but not easy though.

      They already did. Hanwoo is the ancestor of wagyu, Japanese cows weren’t tasty enough so they cross-bred them with Korean cows.
