It's always older gentleman who grew up when the foxbodies were the newest mustangs that have complimented me the most. That, or younger guys who picked up the fox body fever from their dad's or uncles lol

My dad had a white vert when I was a kid. No idea what trim or even what year, it was sold before I got into that sorta stuff. 10k is what he got for it iirc, completely stock aside from tires.

My buddies are in there 50s I’m 32 and they all got SVOS TURBOS foxbodies. 84-93 clean cars they will kill a modern v6 off the line. KILL them it’s funny watching a kid that got his car thinking it would whoop on their cars and when they get school they can’t figure it out.
my dad bought an 85 iroc-z when I was in high school. Midlife crisis I guess. I used to kill on Fox body 5.0s because my dad put a roller cam 383 in the Camaro. They never knew what hit them :-) those Fox bodies are badass though...
No one in my family has owned a fox. I bought a 92' just over a month ago and I'm in love with it. Has alot of work that needs to be done but shes great..
When you see another foxbody you rev the engine at them and they rev back LOL.😎👌

These are the things you sign up for when you own a Stang...I used to have cops roll up on me and tell me to hit it, it sounds nasty. Hell, 1 cop came to my house to look at my car because he saw it on the trailer. Turns out he had 1 as well and wanted to see what was done to mine......miss that notch..............

Ya the cops got a hard on for these cars. I'm afraid to take to my home town in because a cop there used to practically stock me.
Almost pulled me over once for noise ordnance and waved me on wen he herd it wasn't that loud.
Just had the stock cats and headers.
Still stocked me around a few times after that.

When I first bought my fox in 2005, it seems like other Mustang drivers would avoid eye contact like a dog being challenged. Now when I drive it, I get the wave from other fox drivers. The Fox Mustang ownership experience has improved over time.

Had a 91 GT all stock except except like 2 bolt ons.
Anyway it was pretty fast for being stock but for shit and giggles myself raced a c7 corvette haha And that was back when I barely started to learn how to drive stick.. so in the race I think I missed a gear or something and got my doors blown off haha..
I was running like 240 HP maybe and the c7 like idk 500 at least... so yeah never a good idea to race new Muscle cars with old school muscle cars that are stock.. You will get your ass handed to you.

My foxbody rips the tires off with a full tank of gas...not sure why filling it up would be an issue
I had a fox from 1988 - 1995....its been 20 plus years and I bought a 1988 again. I didn't realize all the racing I did as a kid...and that there is this little world out there where a foxbody can bring out the crazy in other drivers. Ive been enjoying racing all around the town on the side....I can't believe how much I missed that foxbody in my life and didn't even know it.
Same with mine....little more then a mile from home....here they come... YES!!!!!! lots of thumbs up from other Fox or mustang owners....
I got a 2001 GT with a custom paint job and I totally get what you mean with everyone trying to race you or speed around you it’s so annoying sometimes I floor it though if they try to pass 😂

Dude lol I can relate to all 4 but that 4th one takes the cake I do the same only put like $10-$15 worth of gas cause less weight since it’s a race car 😂

It seems like people are always in a rush and aggressive on the road today. That's generally the non car people, as car guys we like to enjoy our commute to work or weekend cruise in our pride and joy that we earned respectively. Nice Fox btw:)

I picked up the Fox Body fever just a few months back, and I just recently found your channel and your reviews have helped me see the pros and cons of owning this beautiful car, hopefully the stang i'm gonna go see this Sunday is in neat condition, and hopefully the owner didn't do that many modifications on it! Fingers crossed! 😁

Young Ladd Well I had a 01 Buick regal.. Everyone drives nice and smooth around me. Switched to an 06 mustang and people try you at lights. They will also try to race you on the highway when your minding your business. Had a guy for 5 miles non stop play catch up with me when I was passing cars and would persist to pull up next to me and try to get me to race him.
Because they wana hurry up and live so they can get to death faster?

Great stuff. The other weekend heading for a parade I had a guy in a truck in the right lane that was going to make a turn stop, back up, and yell out the window waiting for me to take off from the light going straight. Hard to not draw attention with a V1 Vortech when sitting at a light.
I’ve definitely noticed people driving fast cutting me off when I’m in my stang. But then I drop a gear and get in their ass and they slow down😆
I have a 91 5.0 Mustang convertible LX. It's a great car, not the fastest car, but it's quick. When I take it out especially with the top down I get a lot of thumbs up. Like you I also have offers from people wanting to buy the car and yes it does attract aggressive drivers.
Totally agree with you bro .. people think that you should bag on it but she a classic and should be respected I have 1988 gt that is pretty clean too I like to hear the exhaust when I drive give her a few revs there a head turner
White is great because it doesn't show alot in terms of body damage,scratches etc. As far as being stranded,only times my 5.0's have let me stranded was when I was taxing individual parts. I.E.,alternator failure,and fuel pump failure. My 92' has over 373,xxx and never had a valve cover cracked. Never had a more reliable car. Bought it just under 100k in 2000.
Same thing here, everybody seems to get off by passing me when I'm doing speed limit. It's like they think we are supposed to drive fast since its a stang. But we are the ones the cops are watching #stanggang🤘

I agree with this video i have an 86 fox and everybody wants to race and go fast around me when im cruising around. and i get many complinents aswell lmfao hahaha ive had the gas prob too you hit it on the nail. Worst issue i had was the damn solenoid but i installed push button start too avoid that typical fox issue lol.

Just found this channel and I have to say that you are spot on with everything you said. I have a 1991 GT 5.0 that I bought new in '91. Back then, I literally couldn't drive to Wal Mart without racing somebody! Iroc Z28's were EVERYWHERE in my town and they were every 5.0 owner's sworn enemy :-) I still have the car but haven't driven it since 2005. I have it covered up under my car port so it hasn't been in the weather. But all the tires are flat and I haven't started it in God knows how long so that's going to be my first problem I will have to tackle before driving it again. Mine was Strawberry/Titanium with a black interior, 5 speed, chrome 16" Pony rims, and a sunroof. I painted it Candy Apple Red/Strawberry all over in 2000 and the paint is still in good condition believe it or not. But before I stopped driving it, it jumped out of 2nd gear all the time, grinded every time I put it in reverse, and fish tailed whenever I got on it so I will have to fix those problems. Plus my ash tray door broke in the early 90's and I never fixed it. But I see yours is not broken! How in the hell did you do that?! :-) Your Mustang is clean as hell though bro. You are an inspiration for me to get off my lazy ass and get the 5.0 back on the street. I got a 351 Windsor in mine with only about 350 HP. Not really fast so I'm thinking about dropping a good racing motor in it because I would probably get embarrassed by the new Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers that are crawling the streets now :-)

You contradict yourself in your fourth reason....if you drive the car easy and cruise around town, then why are you concerned about the added weight of a full tank of gas? Even if you did make speedy pulls from time to time, you have the power to overcome that extra weight, so in the end I doubt you'd even notice the difference. Regardless, thank you for the content. I really like your videos.

I had a 91 GT black.. and all these are true.
2 people asked me if I would sell it 2 complements at gas stations from strangers and and that was only In like a 3 month period before I rolled it and about died.
But hopefully in the future I'll get another one.. I love the sound of the old school 5.0s.

I purchased my first Foxbody in 1983 and have owned one ever since. You forgot to mention the most important thing of all, it's called the "Foxbody High" you get when you are driving one.
Had a few stangs '87 & '92 then moved to an '88 trans am and dropped an L98 350 in it back in the early 90's. People gave me the thumbs up in the trans-am but everyone and their freakin' dog wanted to race the mustangs at every stinkin light. Happens when you drive a benchmark car of a particular era. Had 2 sold them both for more than I paid would love to get behind the wheel of one again. Great fun, yes ran out of gas, tires, money fast 😀 worth it...
Same Here in florida, I just realized the other day how much more people tailgate me in my fox body convertible then in my kia optima. I drive them both the same way obeying the speed limit for the most part and it really seems to get people riled up when I'm driving my fox body sensibly.

I had a 93, and at almost every stoplight, someone was trying to run me. My fox was a bolt on aod coupe, so mystery cam, 70mm TB, full catless exhaust, and the trans was modified as well. It was quick but not fast. It did surprise a couple of people though. The one time i did run someone from a stoplight, it was a older gentleman in a f body z28 auto camaro with what sounded like a cam and straight pipes, he got the hit but i stayed right right next to him and started pulling at the end then ran out of road. And yes, even though it onlylooked good from a distance, i still got compliments and offers everywhere i went. I sure do miss that car.

Every time I fuel up I’ll leave mine running and it’s got a cat delete h pipe and flowmaster 40’s and I get complements every time I take it out and I mean every time

Use to have a 99 20th anniversary Mustang that was hella clean and had little done to it. Straight pipe duels and a K&N air filter and that's all. Rest was stock. But people still pulled up behind me and then accelerated past me then in front of me. Mostly trucks did this and it made me laugh most of the time lol.
Dude it's so true. I have a 1995 Mustang GTS. No mods. I baby my car and drive relatively slow. Everyone speeds by me and expects me to drive full throttle light to light.
It’s true & it happens to me when I drive my 92 5.0 vert & especially my 99 GT which has the 4” cowl race hood and 03 cobra rear spoiler
I get #1 almost daily. Bright red 94 gt 5spd, stock with just O/R Xpipe and super40s dumped under car. I find that woman tend to want to race more than the guys. That kinda surprises me.

People assume since it’s a loud mustang especially on the highway that you lead the pack “traffic”. Every time I drive from state to state I notice people usually stay right behind me when I do a decent speed. Then I’ll kick it up just to see what happens and then everyone follows suit until I slow down. That’s how I got my last speeding ticket. People around me was going faster than me, but the trooper HEARD my car coming
ive owned my 1991 since I was 18 now I'm 41, and I feel the foxbody is a benchmark for a lot if people that don't have one so yes Honda's to audi complete crap cans and fancy cars young people old people there is always someone wanting to race I used to love it but now not so much, I guess it would be like a celebrity always getting bugged for a picture or autograph at first its awesome but later in life it gets old just like me I rarely take my car out anymore I like my 92 Taurus sho rarely does anyone notice it I can sneak attack when I'm in the mood....
I could not agree more with #3. I constantly get tailgated in my Stang Vs driving yes my mini van. I hear some guys rev there engines behind me as well . I'm like can I just enjoy the drive once!
I can definitely relate to 1-3. I've noticed the aggressive driving too, and it's cars of all makes and trims. Especially here in L.A. I get people blowing past me left and right but not before they rode my bumper waiting for me to speed up. I almost run out of gas at times but for a different reason. My fuel gauge is broken and only starts to work once I'm near "E". lol I HAVE to fill up so I can track the miles. Good sound quality on that lapel mic.
Same here! My gas gauge works backward. It pegs all the way down to where I can't see it, then comes back up to E then need to fill! Thanks for the comment!

For being 22, I do say that number 5 for me would be that I get a lot of dudes that are about my dad's age that look twice and are shocked that I am driving a fox.
I'm a slow driver these days.....I really don't speed anymore.....many people hate me because I'm an efficient driver.....enjoy your car.....just because it has some sound and stance.....doesn't mean you have to beat on it every 2 seconds.....part of why your car is clean is because you take care of it.....a nice fox is getting hard to come by

Not more than a day or two goes by without someone asking about or complimenting me on my 92 LX Foxbody. Best is when I pull up to a stoplight along side a guy revving his engine then he see's my car and just looks away cause he knows he's over matched:}

I find people get annoyed when I don’t rip off a light. They can sense the car can move but I’m just not running it every time. I like to toy with them and shift as it resonates out back while staying lined up with them so they can appreciate the music a 5.0 makes.

Anything that looks fun people try to race it. I get people in vans to fast cars try to race me anytime I take my car out. Many of the times though people just want you to get on it to see and here your car.
Its been happening to me since 91 ever since i got my first foxbody. I have 3 sitting in my yard i constantly get people stoping trying to buy them, doing burnouts revving engines up just general mayhem all the time.
Im opposite with mine. Full tank or quarter tank if somebody wants some im on it. Dont care if it a prius or a hellcat. Its all fun to me.
I get that aggressive drivers thing also in my 89, I don't understand it, I can tell that sometimes at lights somebody is flooring it at a light to pass me, or someone comes flying up my a** and I'm going 10 over the speed limit. People need to chill
Hey man im new to california, how difficult is it to mod a car up and still have it street legal here? Like cam, heads, full exhaust, etc...
berto903 ..hard , and expensive if you want to be CA carb legal and pass smog. Also if pulled over and for some reason the cop is fixated on opening your hood (happens) and you don't have CA legal parts, hell prob tow you.

I used to have a 2001 Mustang GT. Young dudes were always egging me one to race them. A few of them tried to clip my bumper on the freeway when I ignored them. It made me very defensive. I don't have it anymore. I'm on the hunt for a foxbody.

I get number 1 all the time. When I did long tube headers I had no tailpipes after the mufflers and it was LOUD and nobody would race cause they thought it was a race car. After I got tailpipes then I started getting people wanting races.
I don't know if this is just what I think but I think people see a sporty or more performance oriented car and feel they need to prove something to that driver. I get all the time in my '80 Corvette along with people wanting to race. A lot of times I get unwanted attention.

I have the aftermarket headlights and people always assume I'm the cops when I'm driving behind them.
Why are you worried about the weight of the fuel if you fill up if you're not racing the car? if you are driving the speed limit and not playing around and not on the drag strip trying to win races, then the car should not even notice the weight of the fuel. I had a 93 foxbody 4 cylinder and I couldn't tell a difference between low fuel or a full tank in acceleration on the street. It might make a difference on the track where hundreds of a second count but not in daily driving.
I hate when you just wanna cruise in your fox and people are riding you and flying around you even though you're going the speed limit. It's like they have something to prove.

Gotta admit though, 5.0 drivers like to race alot also. I had an 07 mustang gt, raced quite a few 5.0s and lost to most of them, they mod amazingly well and are still a classic today. I didn't really like my s197 gt, figured every car fan needs mustang at some point, think i should have gone with a different gen. At least it kept the miles off of my 96 mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 and it did smash on a lot of 350zs and assorted other cars. In the end, i wish i had gotten a different gen though. The new mustang 5.0s are pretty sick, though i was dissapointed when i pulled half a car on one until around 110mph in my still stock vr4, granted it was a 2014ish one with 420hp.
yea I own a foxbody mustang and all 4 happens?the compliments are the best part but the ones cutting you off and tailgating are doing it on purpose because in my daily driver it's not as bad.
2 different employees at my Domino's tried to buy my 73 El Camino on the same pick up. Like they closed the drive through window and another pizza boy comes out asking how much.
