@@dickurkel6910 they can be sometimes but when translation is done properly and NOT word for word, and pronunciation is kept in mind, it can be really fucking good. For example "into the night" english cover is really well made and keeps the same energy as the original.

I LOVE trickle’s cover of this song so much, the fact that it’s not an exact translation and “you say wrong” sounds like “usseewa” in a way makes it gold, as well as the way he managed to sound almost exactly like ado in one part. One of the best covers in my opinion.

I'm probably too picky about this, but for me, most covers don't have *nearly* the right amount of aggression, whether it's in the "Huh?", or even other parts of the song. Often feels like they're too scared to wake up their neighbors, and thus covers often sound half-hearted, like they're not giving it their all (which is fair; we're not entitled to results, and giving it your all in everything can quickly get exhausting).
Of course, that's only from an outside perspective, and perhaps it is either a conscious choice on their part, or they genuinely tried and I'm being too finicky. That's not to say they shouldn't try, of course! On the contrary, I think it's good to do so, and to keep going and improving, as well as trying new things.
Whether people like it or not, what matters most is having fun with it, which I hope these people did! This was pretty interesting to watch.

I agree, Ado’s had this charm to it that I haven’t seen many replicate - but I think they did try. the thing is growling & vocal fry is a skill; a lot of these singers are self taught. Ado does a lot of crazy vocals shifts and jumps, and even though she’s self trained by admission, it’s still not an easy thing to pull off. Some of these singers seem to have softer vocals in general, it’s probably painful for some of them.

In Cantonese,we have nine tones and a same words with different tones have different meanings,so it is very difficult for writing Cantonese lyrics.but Enn’s have great lyrics and it’s perfect for the melody and those lyrics are perfect for this song’s theme

@@user-he5ew7qw6z because the song spoken in Japanese the beat follows a Japanese dialect. Some things in English are extremely difficult to translate on beat due to the direct nature of the English language vs the loose nature of Japanese.
Tl;Dr: language is stupid and faithful translations require different pronunciations.

Yeah, Will's covers are really really good. At least most that I've heard from him so far. I've listened to his USSEEWA cover almost as much as much as the original, and I've pretty much listened to the new version of his Aishite Aishite Aishite cover _(the rock version with ReeK)_ at least three times a day since it came out haha

Trickles was very nice. I can hear a rasp constantly so it adds to the vibe of them yelling for a long time. Also they’re into was really well done. They didn’t become quite after “huh” instead they pumped it up
Meanwhile no one can hit the final “live” in “hated by life itself” like how mafmafu does it
I agree, but I think it's mostly due to staying faithful to the original song. Which Kanzaki did an awesome job at self covering while keeping it emotional and very close to his Miku's version.
I love them both and many others who covered his songs. あの夏が飽和する (that summer saturates) is my favorite which Kanzaki himself covered along with KAF, Umi-kun's cover of it is very pretty as well. Let me know what you think of them! c:

when i listen to usseewa, the dealbreaker is the "HUH?" very few captivate the anger and power like ado, for example Raon lee 0:49 and trickle 3:42. will's is nice, but for me the other HUH's cant compare.(2:15 , 3:08 ) all of the covers still slap though.
Glad to see Reine’s cover in here as her cover is what got me into Ado in the first place!

Hands DOWN Trickle at 3:38 got the "HUUH?" down the absolute closest to the original. まふまふ and Raon lee were good too, but by FAR Trickle overtakes them in the quality of this specific part of the song.

I particularly love how syudou added a layer, singing the lyric just before "huuh" stronger. Combined with its meaning (It goes without saying, these are the rules of corporate workers), putting more emotions in this phrase just feels right, like he is emphasizing how crazy or how dumb it is to say such a thing. You can really feel his emotions pouring out.
ps. I also noticed that the first 3 lyrics, where he listed out all the "rules", were sang bright and cheerful, every word was clear, just like a typical young male japanese worker "following all the rules". And then the 4th lyric is like the "breakdown", raging at how fucked up it is. Again, it just feels right.
