It's interesting to note that one of Renji's best fights in the series is against a friend. Unlike Ichigo, Renji does not show any confusion or hesitation when confronting him, highlighting the differences in their characters. Despite Ichigo's many battles and power-ups, he remains fundamentally human, while Renji fights like a warrior. He confirmed whether Uryu was genuinely on the enemy's side and showed no mercy once he received his answer. While I still prefer the appearance of his old Bankai, seeing how So-oh Zabimaru incorporates aspects of Hihio Zabimaru, along with new abilities that we were never shown in the manga, has definitely given me a newfound appreciation for it. I wonder if Renji being able to tear off sections of his Bankai means, like Komamura's Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō, it has a self-repairing function, so he doesn't have to fear losing it should it break.
He was powered up by Yhwach, but Yhwach can’t make a fodder turn into a schutzstaffel level opponent just like that. So you definitely need to be skilled on your own right in order to reach such a level of power.

To be fair with Uryu taking no damage, like, Uryu also took relatively no major damage against senjumaru, who is a member of squad zero, who wasn’t holding back, so yeah if they’re trying to be consistent then Uryu surviving squad zero level attacks probably means captain level attacks aren’t gunna do much either. But also I feel like the damage really isn’t what you’re supposed to pay attention to, I think the intention was that if Renji didn’t hold back, he would’ve won. Also in defense of Renji holding back, he doesn’t hold back in the same way as Ichigo and I feel it does make a difference narratively. Renji would’ve killed Uryu if he had to. He was fully on the offensive trying to beat Uryu but deep down he was trying to make killing Uryu a last resort worst case scenario. Ichigo could never bring himself to kill Uryu no matter what, he wasn’t even trying to hurt Uryu all that much, just mainly deflecting his attacks and fighting in self defense. So I don’t really think the “holding back” thing is really overdone. It works really well with Renji especially considering how much he worked with Uryu in Huecomundo.
I hear you, I feel the same as Tekking, The holding back excuse AT LEAST gives a reason to why Renji lost, but would have been narratively much better had they had a battle that at least made it look like Uryu was getting pushed back. stumbling, coughing a lil blood, something! You made a good point about Senjumaru though, She literally used a combined 0 squad life sacrifice attack to finish Uryu... and he reacted the exact same way, so in that sense it is keeping in line with the story, its just hard to figure out what level Renji is on now, he put up a better fight then Squad 0 so maybe thats a sign.
@@DmDaPDmyeah I think showing that battle damage would’ve made a lot of difference and probably would’ve been much better. Cause we already know Uryu is gunna win it wouldn’t make sense narratively if Uryu lost. But it would’ve been much more interesting to have Uryu looking increasingly more beaten up and having us think for a moment “oh my god is Renji actually gunna win?!” Before Uryu activates slaverei and regenerates all that damage. I think it would’ve absolutely add more excitement to it for sure. As much of an Uryu simp as I am I can kinda see where he’s a little too strong in some aspects, like he should at least struggle against a member of the zero division, idk regardless it’s cool. I like cool stuff I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense lol
"the most anticipated fight from the manga" come on Tekking lets be real Askin vs Yorichi is easily the most anticipated, just sense your feelings you know it to be true 😜
Uryu should be significantly stronger then when he was fighting Ichigo by the time he fought Renji. Uryu is now one with the ONE GOD. On the rank of an Archangel. In many stories Gods are nothing compared to Arch Angels as the AAs are the Direct Chosen of God. That Level of URYU fought Renji, a mere God.
There's a big difference between consciously holding back like Ichigo and subconsciously holding back like Renji did you can't really control your subconscious like that even if Renji wanted to go all out killing your friend isn't easy
I don't think they were trying to make Renji look weak it's just that Uryu is that strong and durable. Renji is definitely strong, but he's no way near the level of schutzstaffel or Zero Division. If uryu was to use his schrift once, the fight would be over. Stand proud Renji, you are strong.
Absolutely not weak, but I feel the disparity in power between Uryu and Renji was shown to be a bit too vast. I feel like Uryu was depicted here as being well above Renji's level after he went full power.
@@Ban-Kast I feel like they don't want to overdo the Antithesis, but I feel like if he used it against Renji, it wouldn't have felt as lopsided as it did. Granted, Uryu did have to use his completed Vollständig with Sklaverei, and a new ability, which was like the inverse of Sprenger, sapping spirit energy from the opponent trapped within the pentagon, vs Sprenger which concentrates the spirit energy into an explosion. But it really felt like this was just to show off Renji's moveset because Uryu wasn't in his Holy form for a majority of the fight, and when he was, he was winning. Basically, they should've had Uryu get almost beaten, and then he uses his Antithesis to reverse the damage back onto Renji.
Gerard, being the host of the Soul King's heart, would also fit with his battle with shutara. She subdued him, then tried to stab him in the heart, and we got this X-ray moment where we saw Gerard's heart and it beats and completely rebuffed her attack. Gerard then laughs and asks her if she really thinks she could "kill" his heart with that needle. I don't remember the scene in the novel where that's talked about, but the choice of wording in the anime kinda seems to support it. I don't know. The wording just seems a bit more natural to me if he's talking about a separate entity inside him rather than a piece of himself
Put some respect on Uryu he beat a royal guard squad 0 member he's far beyond even captain level so renji still had a good showing to get uryu to go almost all out. Renji aint beating lille barro, gerard or pernida either so it makes sense
I get what you are saying with the renji and uryu fight but I don’t mind the gap in strength uryu is a member of The Schutzstaffe and the heir to Yhwach so the way I took it was the anime was just showing us how busted uryu really is
They could have really sold Uryu's struggle even more if he was genuinely hurt that renji's (soul reaper) only impulse is to kill the quincy (taken as a group but really talking about himself). So as he takes him down, we know its not lethal but narratively its really selling how uryu is getting pushed away to the "dark side" truly feeling the persecution from his friends.
Lillie making sure to shoot the fodder first. Good guy he is. I was laughing so hard when shuhei got hit Also surprised they don't mention more often how renji and uryu were allies against the arrancar.
My sides hurt when Omaeda tried getting to Hisagi. I've seen a lot of ppl point out how he was asking to get shot the way he was slowly waddling around
I thought Tekking would have brought up how the ending was played in reverse in this episode. I don't know what it meant; it's not like Uryu used his antithesis in the fight.
Kazeshini as a whole represents the very definition of a Shinigami, with its chain representing life and the blades representing death. Thus, the chain of Kazeshini can restore any injury Hisagi receives-- even if his entire body is destroyed-- by instantly linking his body back together, as long as Hisagi still has sufficient Reiatsu. Before this revelation, Kazeshini was the source of Hisagi's previous level of resilience, as shown in his training with Kensei and Mashiro Kuna, and even saved Hisagi from fatal wounds, such as when Lille Barro pierced his Saketsu and Hakusui. His Bankai, Fushi no Kōjō, takes this even further. The Reishi around Fushi no Kōjō stagnates, and is said to replicate the conditions of the original world from millions of years ago. Fushi no Kōjō then extends the life preservation of Kazeshini's chains to any opponent Hisagi chooses, connecting both fighters with a length of chain around their necks. Any injury either combatant sustains will be instantly healed at the cost of their combined Reiatsu. PS: Do you think Ichika will effectively be the Bleach equivalent of Shoto Todoroki (Fire Father and Ice Mother)?
What's weird to me is I saw many saying Renji would beat Ishida if he didn't hold back.. like did they watch the same fight? Even if he held somewhat back, Ishida did much more and came out of this fight with no damage, didn't even use his scrift.
Also, as another commenter said, Uryu did about as well (in terms of damage taken) against Senjumaru. You know, the same one who had three other Squad Zero members off themselves to use a reality-bending Bankai to try and immediately squad-wipe the Schutzstaffel. And that was with just a _fraction_ of his true Vollstandig's power.
I like to think that Hanataro ended up with kenpachi because he gets the same vibes of murderous intent that he got from unohana ... And he misses her so he tags along with Kenny 😊
So in the end there were 4 disadvantages renji had 1) subconsciously holding back said by uryu twice so even though i wish he didn't that was the case 2) surroundings were restricting renji's movements he would be able to fly move better etc if this fight took place in neutral circumstances 3) again uryu had home field advantage he could use his surroundings bro even healed lol 4) renji didn't know uryu's abilities and while yes uryu didn't know that much about renji's bankai as well compared to renji not knowing uryu's abilities that wasn't really that much of a big deal (well uryu did see renji's bankai in act 2 though right before going to soul king's palace so there's that) Renji was goated in this episode for sure 🐐
But Tekking, then if Uryu and Renji were closer in strength, Haschwalth would appear alot weaker. Renji is a VICE CAPTAIN! I think its appropriate but thats just me
Its fun watching anime onlys react to this fight, because people REALLY feel pissed off at Ishida and wanted Renji to win, which means the anime has already done one of its main jobs of fleshing out the story and making Uryu appear like a traitor! So good!
I actually disagree here with Tekking. I think narratively Uryu should not have been badly hurt in this fight. Either that or Sklaverei should've completely heal him which it doesn't do as far as we know. If Uryu hasn't recieved heavy injuries during battle with Senjumaru he shouldn't during Renji fight as well is what I think.
When we see what he did to Senjumaru tbf it you're right, But to add the fight land see Renji do that much damage, its a bit annoying that they chose Uryu for him to fight. It was great visually so not reallya big complaint but i felt that same
Tekking i 100% agree with no battle damage on Uryu being a bad thing, Yes Uryu can win, but at least show him fucked up, before he heals, and maybe having to retreat
The anime is so effective with it's portrayal of Uryu that I've seriously considered the possibility that they've changed things so Uryu has been mind controlled by Juha 🤣
Cat and ball how do you not put two together lol. Also think Yachiru is the reason Kenpachi washes his hands probably scolded him like the girl boss she is XD.
I like how Renji's bankai is incredibly flexible with its abilities. Even without the full output of power, I would only imagine how differently his fight with Byakuya would've been much different if he had all these abilities at hand the first time.
I Like that Uryu takes so little damage from Renji. And I love them both xD, It's just that Uryu with an incomplete vollstanding overpowered Senjumaru's bankai cloth things, Renji greatly damaging him in complete volls even without sklaverai wouldn't make much sense. A way to fix this would've been just having Uryu fight in base the majority of the time, almost dying against Renji's super ultimate move, and regular volls beat Renji easily.
i liked how you described how Uryu vs Renji should've gone. Uryu definitely should've taken some serious damage then used Antithesis to reverse it onto Renji. all of it. your version not only would've made more sense, but it would've shown off his Schrift a little more which is something i know the manga failed to do. so, yeah i agree completely
Is the cour 3 breakdown with Clyde still happening? I’d love to hear both of your thoughts. Clyde took down the 2nd part btw. I have a somewhat lower quality copy of it I kept if you’d like to upload it to this channel (with blessings from Clyde I hope 😅).
I absolutely loved the fight (Renji is my favorite character!), and it gave Renji a much needed showcase of his true power. I’m not upset that he lost, but I agree that the battle damage should’ve been more visible. Even though it wasn’t visible for the most part, the fact that Uryu felt it necessary to use Vollständig + Sklaverei in an area where he already has a solid advantage is still telling of how strong Renji is, and he hasn’t even reached his full potential. Even if they were to fight again on even footing, I’m not sure Renji would win since he doesn’t really have a counter to The Antithesis, but I’m sure it would be much closer. But regardless, I’m excited to see what more the anime has in store for these two!
i remember watching your vids when the pernida fight dropped in the manga, there was this real tension and fear every chapter that mayuri was gonna die, and man would that have been legitimately heartbreaking
Maybe they didn't give a ton of battle damage to Uriyu to save time drawing it. I have no idea how long or little that would have taken but with the entire fight and the fights coming up, I wouldn't be surprised if battle damage, especially damage that would be healed would have been low priority. Or maybe he is just that strong 🤷♂️

Why does nobody remember that uryu was powered up by yuwach
He was powered up by Yhwach, but Yhwach can’t make a fodder turn into a schutzstaffel level opponent just like that. So you definitely need to be skilled on your own right in order to reach such a level of power.
Besides his schrift and auswalhen what power up did he receive?
@@muzza2743 Nothing.
Not to this extent he wasn't. As much as I loved this fight, Tekking is 100% correct.
@@Thrillseeker8922 ok thanks I thought I was missing smthn
I am excited to see this next fight as well. Thanks for the commentary!
Me too. I know the least about it. I never read the manga, but the other fights have been spoiled for me.
24:42 How nostalgic , I remember Tekking making the same joke a decade ago XD.
Edit: 28:27 Probably the thing that powers up the gates of the sun, considering that Hashwalth mentions destroying them later on.
He never changes.
0:45 uryu vs renji was AWESOME!
8:35, 16:04 i didnt even make the connection of gate of the sun to quincies living in the shadows, thats kinda genius ngl!

55:38 uryu combining the arrows like cards was so CREATIVE 🔥
56:50 "hey uryu just give me 20 sec while i charge this" 😂😂
1:01:45 feder zwinger is so 🔥
1:03:45 c'mon tekking you got the answer right there 😅
To be fair with Uryu taking no damage, like, Uryu also took relatively no major damage against senjumaru, who is a member of squad zero, who wasn’t holding back, so yeah if they’re trying to be consistent then Uryu surviving squad zero level attacks probably means captain level attacks aren’t gunna do much either.
If they censor it I am going postal
And fucking Shunsui going bankai.
the anime only content is really doing wonders for this arc i hope Ichigo and Rukia get the Renji treatment
Not rukia
Uryu should be significantly stronger then when he was fighting Ichigo by the time he fought Renji. Uryu is now one with the ONE GOD. On the rank of an Archangel. In many stories Gods are nothing compared to Arch Angels as the AAs are the Direct Chosen of God. That Level of URYU fought Renji, a mere God.
There's a big difference between consciously holding back like Ichigo and subconsciously holding back like Renji did you can't really control your subconscious like that even if Renji wanted to go all out killing your friend isn't easy
Hope you’re pumped for Bleach friend this episode was crazy Renji was cooking. Uryu’s skavel rai and that ost was crazy 🔥
In your defense, I had no idea Askin was french neither
We all agree that statement.
Back on track, let's go!!!
Renji killed it. Unfortunately, the worf effect still comes into play, but Renji is no longer going to be called weak!
Absolutely not weak, but I feel the disparity in power between Uryu and Renji was shown to be a bit too vast. I feel like Uryu was depicted here as being well above Renji's level after he went full power.
@@Ban-KastYwach and Quincy power ups help Uryu vastly lol
“chad have you ever heard of the worf effect?”
“i’m confused why are we talking about renji?”
@@wal2er862 ah a fellow man of culture i see
Gerard, being the host of the Soul King's heart, would also fit with his battle with shutara.
I agree with you about the zaga teppo attack. He should at least have been bleeding a little bit.
Keep up the amazing work and videos tekking
Been waiting all week for this ur imput on the new stuff is well appreciated
Lillie making sure to shoot the fodder first. Good guy he is. I was laughing so hard when shuhei got hit
Also surprised they don't mention more often how renji and uryu were allies against the arrancar.
Yeah that is another thing I would have liked to see. Perhaps a brief mention of their battle with Szyael.
Hisagi looked like a dead animal slumped over like Mufasa
@@Ban-Kast maybe on the juha fight if renji gets back up
@@garthyahudahandrews8504 truly living up to his number
My sides hurt when Omaeda tried getting to Hisagi. I've seen a lot of ppl point out how he was asking to get shot the way he was slowly waddling around
I thought Tekking would have brought up how the ending was played in reverse in this episode. I don't know what it meant; it's not like Uryu used his antithesis in the fight.
Maybe it implies that Uryu used it after the battle to make sure Renji survives
Cour 3 has been fantastic. Uryu vs Renji was fire! Really looking forward to the Pernida fight!
His name is kenpachi zaraki but every one else calls him 666
6 feet tall
6 packs
And 6 figure kill count
So in the end there were 4 disadvantages renji had 1) subconsciously holding back said by uryu twice so even though i wish he didn't that was the case 2) surroundings were restricting renji's movements he would be able to fly move better etc if this fight took place in neutral circumstances 3) again uryu had home field advantage he could use his surroundings bro even healed lol 4) renji didn't know uryu's abilities and while yes uryu didn't know that much about renji's bankai as well compared to renji not knowing uryu's abilities that wasn't really that much of a big deal (well uryu did see renji's bankai in act 2 though right before going to soul king's palace so there's that)
Renji was goated in this episode for sure 🐐
Just the faces they put on askin is some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen in a while.
Fans have just been waiting for Renji to live up to the coolness of his design
Even defeat he still the coolness.
Can't wait for my girl Nemu to get the spotlight next week!
But Tekking, then if Uryu and Renji were closer in strength, Haschwalth would appear alot weaker. Renji is a VICE CAPTAIN! I think its appropriate but thats just me
A vice captain on the level of captains
This Episode was PHENOMENAL!!
Yeah, in the light novel shuhei gets basically cut in half and the chains of kazeshini stitch him back together
Renji stocks up
Its fun watching anime onlys react to this fight, because people REALLY feel pissed off at Ishida and wanted Renji to win, which means the anime has already done one of its main jobs of fleshing out the story and making Uryu appear like a traitor! So good!
I always love your voice acting of Mayuri.. ever since then 😊
Did anyone else notice that the ED was in reverse?? 😮 It could be a reference to the Antithesis.
Looking forward to seeing Uryu get his butt kicked 😂
The other thing that tells that Askin is French, is that the first thing he does, is to run away
White flag is out there somewhere lol
23:25 Tasteful fan service tekking!
The anime is so effective with it's portrayal of Uryu that I've seriously considered the possibility that they've changed things so Uryu has been mind controlled by Juha 🤣
Awesome bankast! I like your take on the fight. They should have shown more battle damage on Uryu. Definitley.
You and Tommo in the same day??? LETS FUCKING GO I LOVE BEING A BLEACH FAN
Cat and ball how do you not put two together lol. Also think Yachiru is the reason Kenpachi washes his hands probably scolded him like the girl boss she is XD.
Number of things kempachi has killed...yes
Yay tekking 🤘😎
Uryu defeated some one from zero squad so it makes sense that he is steonger then renji
Is this Tekking??!
I'm losing my mind over the Mayuri and Pernida fight. I CANNOT WAIT, you know it's gonna have a lot of extra stuff added ❤
Renji and Uryu got a huge upgrade in this anime adaptation! Kubo blessing us with more GREATNESS! 🙌🏻
Renji now has the most powerful fire zampakutou in Soul Society XD

@@luiztomikawa Engestu ?
Where do you watch this?
Because the subtitles are different from D+
Can't believe tekking missed the Ludacris reference when he says "throw them bows"
48:21 was my reaction watching Renji beat the allegations 😭
i remember watching your vids when the pernida fight dropped in the manga, there was this real tension and fear every chapter that mayuri was gonna die, and man would that have been legitimately heartbreaking
This review is more of a rant I sense bias here to Renji.
I have to agree. People just can’t accept that uryu is top five
5:00 i am french and i didn't even noticed XD
Discovering Askin is French but still calling Lille like he isn’t from south or Central America where the “ll” become a “J”. Also I love that Hanataro is with squad 11, I can’t wait for the war stories they make about the co 3rd seat that killed armies of Quincy’s. Hanataro should have been lieutenant in all honesty over Kiyone.
Lille is literally the name of a city in France he is also probably supposed to be french or of french ancestry. The only sternritter that could be from central or North America is James/mask de masculine because wrestling is popular there but he can also be Japanese or something lol
@@INBCPC1994 And yet he has a Portuguese Surname, speaks Spanish from his fight with shunsui, and like I said he’s name is pronounced in Spanish. Must be Kubo’s decision like naming the Espadas after architects.
We are so blessed with this anime adaptation lol
But yea fr Uryu had massive plot armour in this fight lol
When uryu said renji didn't know about his power i thought that meant he did use the antithesis in the fight. Idk where but maybe that's why he didn't get hurt we really don't know that much about his power
i do wish kubo would have given Renji some fire-based abilities with his shikai because as cool as his new firebase abilities for his bankai are they don't make sense considering he has no fire-based abilities in shikai
Askin! You keep doing you buddy!
Yesss another bankast video! Next episode will be amazing i cant wait for it
It is insane that Uryu can use Blut Vene on his damn clothes lmao like what in the hell
Man Renji was Cookin in this ep
I know it's a longshot, but what if we get to see Isane's Bankai and it has healing powers similar to Minazuki (shikai). Maybe that's how all of these characters manage to survive despite there being no one around
