Story 1: That kid is so spoiled. But at the same time, it's proof that if you see something you want, you should grab it because there's a possibility that it might be taken by someone else. The same thing happened to me in the past. I remember I was out shopping with my mom and her sisters at the mall & I saw this really cute Purple Guess Handbag that I really wanted to buy, and when my mom finally caved and said that I can get it, I was so happy, only to be met with disappointment when I found out it was gone. The only difference is that I didn't scream like a banshee & throw a temper tantrum like that kid did.

I'm into the nerf hobby, and I think I know the blaster that the story 1 OP mentioned. Minigun and one of the biggest blasters on the market, it can only be the Nerf Elite Titan. There are review videos out on TH-cam if anyone reading this wants to take a look, but it's not form me. The front carry handles too small for my adult man hands, it's still fed from a magazine instead of a belt, and I'd prefer a standard carbine instead. In my opinion, you'd be better getting a PRO or MAX blaster. Those are manufactured by Nerf's main competitor, Dart Zone, and can keep up with the lower end airsoft guns out there right put of the box while still being available in the big box department stores like Walmart and Target (Adventure Force PRO for Walmart and Dart Zone MAX for Target, but Target still has a few PRO blaster) as soon as they're out of their store packaging. My only worry is what happens when spoiled brats like the kid in that story get blasters from these production lines.

Story 1: This OP is nothing short of awesome.... deserves a medal. One good thing is that the mother didn't confront him and try to get him to give it away or steal it.
Story 2: The OP's fiance is lazy, unmotivated, a mooch, and somewhat entitled to a degree. Unless he's really biding his time for a dream job/career, he doesn't really seem worth it.
Story 3: I dont know where this is, but this is a big reason why many bus and transit systems have signs/symbols saying "no loud music" on them. Good on the OP for staying calm here, but i totally would've countered with some really obscene rap or hardcore screaming heavy metal.
Story 4: Sucks about that situation, but yea.... get out and ASAP. That age is really a grey-zone for some parents; they just can't seem to accept that their children are adults and can't let go that they aren't children/teenagers.
Story 5: That is quite funny, but dont feel bad... i had no idea what "secret santa" was either when i first was introduced it and had someone explain it to me.

Reminds me of a situation that happened to me. I was shopping in a Goodwill store, and saw two kids that looked 5 years old holding large pushrod super soakers. The mother of one of the kids said they were not getting the super soaker, so I picked it up off the shelf after he put it down. And it was marked at $3.99. That same super soaker went for $30 new. So I was ready to buy it. But as I was standing around, I suddenly felt a tugging on the soaker. The kid had come back and was trying to yank it out of my hands. I refused to let him take it, and he said that I didn't need it because I was a grown up. I said I was buying it because it was summer and I have three nephews I like to play with. The kid actually said accusingly to me that I don't have any nephews. I remarked that I have three. Then the kid actually said my nephews were dead. This little brat got under my skin. I found his mother in the next aisle, told her what he said, and that I was not happy about it. Then as I was leaving, this mother and her son ended up almost right next to me in the checkout line. And as I was leaving the store, they were not far behind. And as it turned out, my car was parked practically right next to theirs. It was not a fun experience.

Not getting into the car. I wouldn’t have bought the toy, but put it in another part of the store. Let the kid not know where it went. When my one son did this the first time, I just took the shopping cart to the front of the store. Face it to an employee and leave with my kids. Explained to them we have to go back later and shop for everything again. The next time he threw a fit, reminded him of that time. He never did it again, not wanting to shop for everything again

The first story, well done buying the gun. The second story the girl needs to dump her dude, because he won't change. The third story, as a father of autistic kids, yes, they do like songs to repeat, but they usually need headphones to block out the outside noise. The fourth story, this girl is the issue, she doesn't have to be that involed in her dad's life. It also sounds like she's been there past the few months she claimed she needed. But, it also shows her character to possibly be pregnant, when it isn't difficult to get contraceptives. Finally the fifth story, being embarrassed is normal, and her coworker's reaction is normal. But a lesson people need to know, is to laugh at themselves. It's better to laugh with people, than be laughed at by people.

    • @C0rran05
      @C0rran05 ปีที่แล้ว +1

On story 3, I've tried to get mine to use headphones to listen to things and its a no-go. She only uses noise canceling headphones and refuses to use other headphones for things like listening to music/movies/etc. She also loves to listen *insert whatever she is listening to* at high volume, but we curtail that as much as we can and remind her to keep the volume lower. This mostly falls under the category of 'no autistic person is the same' category. The upside for us is that she is a usually a great traveler and prefers watching things go by outside and we've being able to avoid using devices as calming mechanisms outside the home. Downside is I may have a permanent divot in my head from her resting her chin firmly on my head for a calming shoulder back ride, lol.
Imo, both were likely in the wrong on this story (though as a parent of an autistic child as well I may be affected by bias against those who remain uneducated on autism). The tone I'm getting from the OP is saying they weren't being as polite as they claim and twisted some of the scenario to fit their view of the events, but the things the mother said right off the bat before giving a proper explanation does not look good for her, either. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if the mother was stretching the truth as well since I would have led with my daughter being autistic as I apologized for the inconvenience. In short, they both come off as judgey to me.
Of course, the other side of this, as I'm sure you've experienced, is many autistic children don't do well with crowded places and/or changes in expectation/environment, so assuming mother wasn't lying to the other passenger, the loud music may very well have been the deterrent for other behaviors, which for parents in our situation can become a 'screwed if you do, screwed if you don't' kinda thing. Loud repetitive music, or screaming child? Lose lose, and no one wins. We just try the best we can with what we have sometimes.

Story 2. Dump him. Or you will be supporting him his whole life. I know someone who supported her husband while he became a doctor then dropped her for a nurse. I’m not saying that will happen. You have a disability, he is able bodied. 🏃‍♀️ far and fast

I’m 43 and grew up in a disfunctional home. I had no financial support from mom and dad and had to work my own way towards a decent life. I had to work even harder after my divorce just to provide for my son. My son is also Autistic and has ADHD, but that doesnt mean im going to feel entitled to play loud music in a public place.

some adults somehow manage to make the kids feel insulted with how they treat them. When I was younger, (think 15-16) I was starting exams and I had accomplished plenty of my own goals. I had a few friends I was close with and did the best I could in school. Yet whenever I was around one of my aunts that I see fairly rarely, it felt like I was being treated like I was 6 instead of 16. Sure I was still a minor at the time and all but I had my own job, I was saving for my own car, yet I was being treated like I was saving for my first nerf gun or something like that, I think a lot of adults don't realise they treat some kids like they are too young

Story 1: I don't blame OP, but seriously what about the staff, mother or other customers
and whose to say she was going to reward him for screaming with the toy, what if she only told him that to calm him down or to teach him that screaming and yelling won't get him what he wants quicker, could be explaining it onw to the make-up Isle?,
don't blame OP, but they should seriously be considerate of everyone else in the store left to deal with the screaming of the child

Story 3: This woman annoyed me from the beginning, but the moment she pulled the "my baaabyyy is autistic" card, my blood *boiled.* I'm autistic, and I tend to listen to songs over and over again... but _I don't sodcast._ To top it off, I'm an atheist with a deep-seeded contempt for the kind of Christian her general attitude and, in particular, her "profanity music" remark make her sound like. Her sodcasting the same God song over and over again would drive me bonkers, especially because I find it difficult to tune music I don't like out. As for her screeching, we don't tend to do too well with overly loud noises. If OP could hear that bloke defending them from the front, and she was louder than that... that poor kid's ears! She showed no consideration for anyone on that bus, in the end not even her own son.

4:31 I find this story very interesting, cuz if it was a opposite situation, where a guy take most of the financial burden while the woman gets a easy job where she have some time for herself to play games, I'm pretty nobody would find it wrong nor the woman would be complain about that, I'd say even more, if the man complain about things like cleaning and cooking, he'd be the one taking the L and the woman would come in the right anyway.
That history actually give two valuable lessons for both genders, for women, if your man is not working hard from the begining, it's pretty much possible that he won't accomplish anything in the end. For men, men's value lay on what they can do or have, a man who have nothing or can do nothing have no value for women nor for society. For women and society, men aren't human beings, but humans do.

First story: Ehile the kid definitely did NOT deserve the toy gun, the OP getting it solely for making the kid react is a dick move.
I get that he was genuinely gonna use it for Nerg Gun fights with his friends, but the fact that he went back into the store to hear the kid's reaction meant that he bought it MOSTLY to piss the kid off.
