I have a daughter that age. 25 years experience working as a classroom teacher in public school. I cannot imagine the pain of the parents and the loss of these children’s families. I taught from Columbine to Parkland. I’m sick of kids killing other innocent children. Fed up!
My lively and beautiful daughter, about to graduate, was a first grader when the shooter executed an unthinkable number of babies and teachers at Sandy Hook. I can’t imagine not having her and the wonderful things she has brought to my life💔💔💔💔💔

Looks like at the end of the hearing, the 2 defendants were furiously signing paperwork, which someone said was appeal paperwork. If that is true, they were holding up the close of the hearing…and they could have filled the paperwork out later. This seems really self centered, on the part of the defendants. The families of the murdered kids had to remain seated until the defendants were escorted out of the courtroom. Really pathetic.

Prison is a radical change in life, and often it quickly manifests in a change of physical appearance. That being said, i wonder how much extra food you could even get in prison. It seems way more likely to me that her gaining weight comes from her not being able to ride and care for her horses, one of the things she did at the expense of the well-being of her son.

I hate to say it but tragedies like this one caused by irresponsible parents are only going to keep happening. The amount of parents i’ve seen that choose to ignore or even excuse their kid’s bad behavior in the name of it being “normal” and “that’s what kids do” is only increasing.
This mom said it herself: she thought her kid was normal. Everyday more parents are wholeheartedly believing that bad behavior or mental health problems are normal and their kids will only grow out of it and there’s no changing their mind

Some people shouldn't have children... These two clearly allowed their child to have access to firearms and failing to keep firearms safely and securely at home are different crimes. Failing to supervise a child sufficiently is also a crime. So is failing to instil proper respect for other people and the law. Parents should be liable for these crimes if their child obtains a firearm as a result of their negligence.

Wondering if the boy is being tried as an adult? When at school a parent is also on different footing and why didn't the school do their job no checking of the backpack should tell you even more the child spends more time with that student then the parents. It took a village to miss all the signs so only blame the parents. Step back then look in. No parent wants their child to take the life of any living thing. Stop it. We all failed this community again. And that's the real answer.

Would they be fine? Culpable because they didn't secure the kitchen knives? I get it. They ignored the red flags and everything and did not get their child the help that he needed, but would we still be having the same trial if he used a kitchen knife instead of a firearm?
