There is no way I am doing this to my truck. I have looked at these and they say they are direct fit, in my mind direct fit does not involve butchering my dash and wiring harness. Looks good but its not for me
Thank you for the video. You would think that with the cost of the dash, the high tech display, and the popular name brand of the company which has been in business forever supplying quality gauge components, that they would have a more sophisticated plug and play wiring harness so that you don't have to hack up a perfectly good factory harness just before it terminates into a very important factory connector. Your screwed if for some reason you change your mind on the install. You can't uncut those wires... Thanks again for the video.
Looking back, are you still happy with it? Would you have gone another route? Waiting to install mine. Price is insane but I'm hoping it'll be with it once installed.
It's not my truck but I have owned several of these trucks and would do it to my own in a heartbeat. Rhe gentleman I did the install for still loves it. The best part I think is that you can easily adapt it if you decide to do an engine or transmission swap.
Can you tell me which wire is the fuel gauge wire on a 1995 chevy silverado, I got everything hooked up, but can seem to find the wire for the fuel sender unit
Did you have issues with the turning over then shutting off??? I installed this same model 4 month ago and im recently having issues with it shutting off, can you help please??
The autometer harness has wiring to connect the factory indicator wires from the original cluster. I don't remember the colors but the install sheet lays out what color wires to use and what color wires to connect to on the factory harness
@@texasfreakkustoms was this a customer vehicle? Awesome job man. Really looks good. I’m going to have to put away in the piggy bank for this. Definitely need it
It would not be a direct fit. You would have to use autometer's universal kit. I couldn't begin to guess how the fitment or ease of installation would go. www.autometer.com/invision-lcd-dash-universal-panel-mount.html
I used the factory sender and wiring to the cluster. The cluster can be configured for different resistance fuel senders depending on the unit you're using.
Hey! I’m about to install this. Do you splice oil temp/pressure/water temp wiring into the harness ? Or some other solution? I have a l86/8l90 combo. Thanks
I spliced into the factory harness for most of the connections but I was using the original drive train so it didn't require as much modification as a swap does.
No it does not have a readout for gear position. There are lots of options out there for an add on indicator you can mount separately but this customer wasn't concerned with that.
We need this for the 03-06 gm trucks .
99-06
Damn this looks good with that big ass iPad stereo you got with it

Which one is the gas line
All that work for the same gauges we already have with no provision for adding fuel pressure, oil temp, and the like? What?
Did you have to plug anything to the transmission
Dash does look good!
Can this unit be switched to metric??
Looks good but that price is insane.
This kit is definitely not for everyone but I think it's worth a look.
You should make for 1989-1994 dash obs
That would be nice
Is there an option to have this gauge cluster show wether if the truck is in park, drive, or reverse?

I have a69 Plymouth original motor etc so a universal obs can actually be installed in my car
Should fit on a 99 tahoe as well?
Yes
Brother quick question what wire color is for the fuel level sensor thank you.
Orange: Fuel sender wire. Connect to the original fuel sender wire. GM typically used tan, pink, or violet for
this

Do you think there’s any way I could make this work for a 92 Silverado? And if not why would it not work ?
Did you have issues with the turning over then shutting off??? I installed this same model 4 month ago and im recently having issues with it shutting off, can you help please??
Did you run your constant power and grounds directly to the battery as recommended? I made the mistake of not doing that at first and had some issues.
As much as this thing cost they should make it plug and play
What all did you have to do to have the turn singnals and parking brake indicator to show? Mine was installed and it doesn’t show them.
The autometer harness has wiring to connect the factory indicator wires from the original cluster. I don't remember the colors but the install sheet lays out what color wires to use and what color wires to connect to on the factory harness
Is this compatible with the diesel equipped GM trucks of that year range?
It should work just fine it has to all be wired up anyway. You will just have a lot of rpm range on the guage you don't need.
Sweet setup! What radio is that it looks good with the digital dash and also the iPad style radio.
Radio is a Boss BE9ACP with car play and android auto. Very nice for the price.
is there anything for a 04 cadillac escalade esv?
So nice, good job
Hey buddy where are you located do u want to do a Cadillac Escalade 2000
Do you happen to have a photo of the wires after you installed them?
I don't have any other pictures of it.
does it show what gear your in?
It does not.
We need for 2003 to 2006 go Boys
Can i use this with a carb swap and trans swapped 97 c1500?????
Yes
Wow that cut to run the wires thru looks bad
How you get your speedometer to work can’t seem to make mine work
I used the factory speed signal from the pcm and followed the setup procedure for calibrating the cluster in the installation instructions
Do it automatically pick up the actual mileage
You have an option to program it once before you put 800 miles on it.
Why did you upgrade? Fuel and oil pressure shaking? And what’s the cost?
Want to install on my 99 Burban. Hate the fuel and oil pressure shaking.
That was the reasoning for the upgrade. Cost is around $1400 for parts.
@@texasfreakkustoms was this a customer vehicle? Awesome job man. Really looks good. I’m going to have to put away in the piggy bank for this. Definitely need it

The shaking gauges is a bad hall motor can be fixed for $40
That's an option yes. Some people just want something different.
Hey, will this work for 2001 Acura CL type-s? Great job
Autometer has a generic kit you might be able to make fit.
Would I be able to put this on a Jeep Wrangler 2002?
It would not be a direct fit. You would have to use autometer's universal kit. I couldn't begin to guess how the fitment or ease of installation would go. www.autometer.com/invision-lcd-dash-universal-panel-mount.html
Can I use GPS speed instead of the original wire?
I know that autometer sells a gps speed interface module that works with its dashes.
How much does something like this cost to install? Labor wise
I paid about $1000
Since this fits in a 97 do you think it fit in a 91??
They offer a universal kit, I'm not sure about the differences in fitment for pre 95 dashes
How was installing the fuel gage, caint seem to get it to show

You know what color was for the sender Iam trying to make it work but no luck.. thanks
Will it fit a 2005 tahoe??
They have a generic install kit but not a direct fit for 2005
This is how you end up driving a 1997 car in 2022.
Kids, save and invest. Don't fall victim to consumerism.

About $1400 for the dash in this particular application. Takes about 8 hours to install.
