"Too premium to throw in your bag" You probably have a $1300 phone that you put in your pocket/bags lol. I only have minor scratches on mine from the button contacting with the shell but overall it can withstand daily use if you use a skin or tpu case
Nice video, I'm glad you're happy with it. I got the indigo one and had a lot of issues with the controls in particular. I agree with you that the black or white edition is a better prospect, also a +1 for the FunnyPlaying console that cost me the same as my shipping on the Analogue Pocket!
I got the black aluminum and have been loving it. I owned the plastic one too and the aluminum d pad is definitely better. First aluminum one i received had a shoulder button issue and rattling buttons. Got a new one sent to me and its great! Price is definitely ridiculous though.
I used to be a purist, wanting real hardware & real games... but my reflexes are slower than they used to be & I absolutely prefer -massive libraries, save states,- slow motion & fast forwarding over original hardware. The Analog Pocket looks great, but it just doesn't work for my play style now. ...Didn't watch long enough to see you can still do save states & roms. That's surprising, but makes it closer to being worth the cost. Now if I'd only picked a glow in the dark one up!
I personally own the Standard White one I use everyday and I have a case for that one. I have a Standard Black one for back up on display. I have the transparent LE Red one on display as well as the Aluminum Noir one on display. I only every touch the white one almost everyday. Its such an amazing system.
I recently got myself one of the indigo units to replace my current black one. It would be super nice if they would release an OPENFPGA Lynx core and it will be perfect.
Not a dumb question! Right now the answer is no, but that’s dependent on community developed cores. You won’t be able to speed up real cartridges, but if it’s a feature of the cores that let you play ROMs it could be possible. It looks like the WonderSwan core supports fast forward, but that’s it for now Thanks for watching! 😊
@ScatteredBrain thanks brother- I appreciate the review and your quick response. I am tempted because I'm a huge sucker for a premium metal build- but at $500, maybe it's best to just get a steamdeck
That crooked d-pad doesn't really scream premium, imo, but sure, if you have the money, there are probably worse things to waste your money on. Build quality internally was a garbage fest for quite a while; I wonder if/how much that's changed.
The d-pad is supposed to have some play/movement. This is by design. It's the same with original Gameboy consoles. So the crookedness you see is just the fact that it's able to be moved around like that.
i'm dying 4 that n64 right nah. i haven't gotten around to the pocket. so much back n forth doubt and maybe because of finances. but that n64 i'll be up all night waiting for that when it gets released
@@ScatteredBrain do you think it would look more solid than an old game boy or a DS?! How big is the display compared to a game boy advance (the one that flips open)?
Determination. 😂 the blue and indigo were an accident - the site got messed up and I didn’t realize I was able to add both to my cart. But everything else is maybe thanks to fast fingers with buying concert tickets, apple products on release, and consoles during release day 😂 Thanks for watching!

😂 the budget option sometimes is better but man is the analogue a great piece of hardware!

…i would send it back for refund…500 for something with that miss-fitting crocked d-pad is disgraceful…to sell that for 500 is unforgiveable…
How do we transfer our physical carts to an sd card, to play the games we own on the Pocket?

Thank you for making me pull the trigger on a aluminum Noir 😂🤦🏻♂️ wanted to get the silver but looked too bright for me
@@ScatteredBrain one more thing to ask . Which mario game was that @9:42
might be a dumb question but does it allow you to play at x2 x4 x8 speed/ higher speeds like some emulators do?

@@ScatteredBrainhey brother before I buy it, does it let you install ROMs? I have a big library just curious if it lets you put it in an SD CARD
@HavocDante3 I do cover that in depth in my emulation chapter at 5:49
Thanks for watching!
I play with my LE indigo and spice I put a TPU Case those are well protected. and my silver suffers all hard load.. I got aluminium noir too
2:28 the DPAD moving clockwise is turning on a huge OCD on me, and I just want to go running to your home RIGHT NOW to fix it
Thank you for being so honest.

$1000 worth of Gameboys in that thumbnail!
