Yes!! Amazing story you have! I grew up in the 80s and 90s when MTV was epic and played videos all day, everyday. Poison, Van Halen, Gun N Roses, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Joan Jett, Cinderella!! 🤣 The list goes on! I guess my story is that I was adopted as a baby. My mother is White, and my daddy is Black. But I was raised in a predominantly White neighborhood. So my childhood friends listened to a lot of this music. So I came to love music of all genres...rock, rap, pop. It all makes me happy! 🎶🎵
@@Ilovewbd I hear you!!! I was doing what the Twins is doing now, that is, reacting to all those crazy bands you mentioned on MTV in college in the 80's. That's what cheap beer and cold pizza will do to a Brotha's head LOL!!! However unlike the Twins, there was no internet in the early 80's, and thus I didn't get to act a fool on camera like the twins LOL!!!
I can't listen to modern rap, but I'm was into the older stuff. Finding some good new Soul/New-Soul like Leon Bridges and British Singer Lianne La Havas. My boy Maxwell is Old School now from what I hear. I'm still all up into cats like Phill Collins and Genesis and Sting and the Police. Crazy, Cryin, and Amazing. Three songs from Aerosmith who's videos made the world fall in love with Alicia Silverstone. She was the ultimate crush when I was in high school. The songs are great too.

I remember when Fuse was a channel in the 70s on the TV, channel 72 for me, and was like early MTV except you could send a text message to someone and have it aired on the channel.

I saw GNR live at ACL fest. It was good. But not that good. I won't claim velvet revolver was better because Scott Weiland literally nodded out on stage but...just regulate expectations and all is well

Here is some info for Twins..Steven Tyler is the lead singer of Aerosmith he us 73 yes young..Aerosmith formes in 1970..1993 was a great year for them as they put out a new album and videos that reached that generation..this song has Alicia Silverstone which was huge young actress at the time..Clueless, Batman Returns, Blast from the Past..and they used her in the video Crazy which also stars Steven's daughter that didnt know she was his until like early teens..you must watch/listen to it as well as Livin on the Edge
Not to mention the push they got from RMC before this album.

Listen to the “Walk this Way” collab between Run DMC and Aerosmith. They got serious crossover exposure on MTV back in the 80s. Rap lovers discovered them and rockers remembered they loved them.

I gotta agree emphatically! As someone who was exposed to Aerosmith's first album at a young age, I was able to get my kids into Aerosmith, by playing that one song. Tell them a story with a song and they're hooked.

Oh my god, this...this and "Crazy" were a continual video almost. It also was the big outbreak of girls being shown as the 'screw you' to the guy who breaks your heart. But she takes his car, gets a bellybutton ring, etc. She's wild and not apologizing for being young and free.

The month we're now in is the 30th anniversary of several important album releases, (not to mention the fact that I started high school in September 1991). More importantly than any one album or song, the importance of September 1991 was that it was when Generation X really started to flex our/its cultural influence. And in a way, it's when the '90s really began. That said, you might want to dedicate this month's song react vidoes to the class of September 1991.
I am only 6 years behind you and agree 100%...it's REALLY the anthem to our generations coming of age. I have an uncle who is 2 and 1/2 years older than me and he played EVERYTHING Aerosmith during most of the 90's.... you could just see it kids from our generation would always (and still do) Perk up when this comes on. And that's to say nothing of the amazing video it's self... I mean it had LITERALLY HOLLYWOOD STARS in it.

Ahhh Alicia Silverstone, the 90’s teen idol and crush for us young 90’s boys. Aside from starting in the 3 Aerosmith videos, she was in the films “The Crush”, “Batman and Robin” as “Batgirl”, “Beauty Shop” with Queen Latifah. But her most iconic film and film role is in “CLUELESS”!!!

Some trivia: Alicia Silverstone had three appearances in Aerosmith's videos (next "Amazing" and "Crazy"). All videos are arranged like short movies and tell a story. (When I saw "Crazy" for the first time I actually thought, it was a soundtrack to a movie with snippets from the film. I was so disappointed that I could not find the movie :-D ) In "Crazy" Alicia Silverstone stars together with Liv Tyler, who is the singer's daughter (yes, the actress Liv Tyler from "Lord of the Rings"). Btw. tattoos and in particular navel piercings became a big thing after this video. ;-)
