- Tremenda canción, de mis favoritas de WINTER ROSE, una excelente banda de Heavy Metal Melódico, Hard Rock y Glam Metal Canadiense, que si bien no lograron obtener el reconocimiento que se merecían (a pesar de que se traten de composiciones con una amplia calidad y riqueza musical); sus músicos fueron reconcocidos posteriormente en otras bandas y proyectos...
Pues, el primer vocalista de la banda fué Sebastian Bach, y gracias al demo "Sabed by love" los músicos de SKID ROW lo contrataron para su vocalista oficial reemplazando a Matt Fallon; a partir de la alineación con Sebastian Bach, Skid Row se ha consagrado como una de las mas grandes bandas del Hard Rock y Heavy Metal mundial, como bien sabemos...
Su segundo vocalista, James LaBrie; que estuvo en reemplazo de Bach, en unos años ingresó a la audición de una banda de Metal Porgresivo que en ese entonces estaba buscando vocalista, bien sabemos también lo que DREAM THEATER ha logrado con LaBrie en los vocales desde ese entonces hasta ahora, considerandose la banda más importante de ese género.
La banda logró sacar oficialmente un sólo album de estudio, su debut homónimo, publicado en 1989, que fué grabado por el segundo y último vocalista James LaBrie. Una lástima que no hayan aportado más albums al Hard Rock y que por falta de reconocimiento y la inestabilidad de sus miembros la banda haya tenido que disolverse, pero sirvió como una escuela por donde pasaron dos grandes vocalistas a los que el mundo nunca olvidará (aunque casi nadie sabrá o recordará o sabrá que antes pertenecieron a esta agrupación) xD
La banda estaba liderada por el virtuoso guitarrista Richard Chycki, que al quedarse sin vocalistas decidió dejar el proyecto para dedicarse de lleno a su profesión de Ingeniero en Sonidos, prouciendo hoy en día a grandes estrellas del AOR, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal y Progresivo. El mismo tenía el rol de guitarrista y bajista en Winter Rose, el otro miembro de la banda era el baterista Randy Cooke.
Comparto con ustedes su único video promocional, que lo encontré en youtube pero en una versión donde el audio y el video no estaban muy bien sincronizados, así que les dejo mi versión con mejor calidad de audio, espero que la disfruten!

I'm a big DT fan, so don't take this as me bashing them, but James's voice definitely fits this music better

I think LaBrie's voice fit DT quite well too, but personally, I'm not a big fan of growly or screamo vocals.

Look, I've got a complicated relationship with his voice. 80s James works best in his 80s music, so this. Early 90s James fit DT very well. And then metropolis pt2 through Systematic Chaos all suited his new voice very well. It wasn't until 2009 he started sounding like he was trying too hard (or not at all). They should go back to writing for his systematic chaos range.

I had the opportunity to interview Labrie years ago before TH-cam was really a thing. I asked him about Winter Rose and he said "how did you hear that?!" in an almost embarrassed tone to his voice. Lol, whatever, this shit is fire I don't care what anyone says.

This very well could have been a hit when it came out! That hook is very strong and the vocal performance from James and the entire band is just amazing!
I remember seeing them open up for Killer Dwarfs at a club then called Entex in Mississauga, Ontario just outside of Toronto. They made a huge impression on me!!! They were amazing.

Some of these obscure 80s hard rockers had the singers with some the greatest voices n a guitarist who could provide nice harmony.
However, Rock n Roll is so much more than that but it could be so much less as well, right?

Robert Campbell well, age has definitely set in (age lines and such) and his hair is definitely not as full volume. Still looks good for being in his mid 50s, though.
There are so many 80s brilliant rock songs and I still want to listen to them every day before i die. I will not waste any of my time listening to all that shitty music from these days new shitty songs, with untalented singers ,can't even sing, they all have the same voice, you can't see the difference and ,new days songs no means no feelings ,it all how day look, just to showing up the naked body .😮What a waste peoples money spend on them .😮 I won't spend any penny for the new shitty songs.❤❤❤❤ But I ❤80s 90s 70s❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
