People like to say that lots of Filipinos are good in singing because of karaoke and singing contest with high standards, but people are forgetting to mention that it is deeply rooted in our culture and tradition. We have music for everything, every chore, when someone dies or born, for harvest, for different ceremonies, coming of age, hunting, fishing, farming, etc. Our ancestors passed it down to us and our Indigenous groups still practice it till today. And people don't mention it, it's literally the root of our habits of singing everyday for no reason. It's in our blood.

And more than half of people during Holy Mass would sing Praises and songs inside the Church.
This makes me question my existence and the reason why I was born , I’m Filipino , born and raised in Manila and the only talent I have is picking a good place to eat and not get fat. 🙄

The one who sing looking down while singing is. One of the attitude of a fillipino when We use to control the flow of our voice to make a such a things that can call every one attentions. And when you see a singer like that it's means they make one of the hardest way to make the song more interesting..
You know what it's really hard to win a singing competetion in the philippines than to compete internationally. Reason why more Filipinos join singing competetion abroad over here not easy to win here .

@@TripTipsPodcast we just had our vacation there last year we visited different places such as Manila which is known as the big City in Philippines, Iloilo as the City of Love which have multiple pre-historic churches and beautiful beaches as Boracay Island is one of top destinations for tranquility and night known for it's white sandl Guimaras the island province is famous for producing one of the sweetest mangoes in the world, thus earning the nickname "Mango Capital of the Philippines" & Isla de Gigantes Islands 🏝 ❤️ where we did scuba diving in a hidden lagoon. We visited also Baguio known as the summer capital City, La Union, Vigan, Pagudpud Beach in Laoag where we experience kiteboarding, Cagayan Valley and also visited the 106 years old Whang-od Oggay tattoo artist in Kalinga. She's Philippines national treasure. At 106 years old, Whang-Od still practices the ancient art of batok - the technique of tattooing through hand-tapping using a lemon tree thorn and charcoal soot - that she learned as a teenager. And lastly to ride on a jeepney & tricycle what a great experience indeed! LOL 😄😁 Those are my bucketlist 🪣 😉

10:31 I hope you watched the entire audition clip of Mary Ann Van der Hurst. Those judges' faces were like that because they were expecting the worst from her after she told them that when she sings, her husband always told her to stop.

18:46 Be careful what you wish for! Hahaha! 🤣🤣 In the Philippines, most of the houses have their own karaoke system. We even have a travel-sized karaoke speaker and mic. So, be prepared for nonstop singing until curfew time, which is around 10 or 11 pm, depending on the city you are in. The department stores here have a space inside where they sell karaoke microphones, and random people can come up to sing. Therefore, it's a common thing to hear someone belting out Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, or Toni Braxton in the malls.

have just watched your videos on philippino singers. in this video we briefly see 4th Impact ( singing Titanium) . You really should react to a full video of them . they auditioned for X factor UK in 2015 and that video has more than 193 million views on you tube. Just this week they released a mini album of 5 ORIGINAL songs - all of which are amazing. their harmonies will leave you speechless. they also have many cover songs on you tube.

Filipinos are everywhere in the world and you can almost guarantee that whatever talent competition, one of us will be there. Whether we make it or not. I think one of the biggest Pinoys that made it pretty far into a competition was 4th Impact (formerly 4th Power-had to change name due to another band in Britain that already had that name). They're sisters and honestly, you should check out all their performances. I feel like they should have won the competition but they placed 5th.
The song that Alisa Bonaobra sang wasn't a song but from the musical "Wicked" and it's one of THE most popular, classic, Broadway songs.

Filipinos sing well, so do Indonesians and a lot of Pacific people. It is somehow part of the culture to sing, and in the Philippines, of course, there is in addition the Western influence.
And people sing a lot, the only downside some foreigners complain about is neighbors singing karaoke at 2 a.m. when they want to sleep. Of course, if people do something a lot, they learn it, and those with talent get really good. In Africa and the Carribean, people dance more.
Ah very cool.
Those who sing karaoke till late at night are either having celebrations or just don't care with sleeping neighbors. But I understand that a curfew for Karaokes up until 10pm has been implemented. But that would still depend on people who respect it.
@helenbeltran6420 just an observation because I live in Germany where noise pollution
laws are strict and neighbors hate noise, and I have observed that many children of Filipinos who can sing that grow up here aren't as good in singing as their parents. Skill is always talent plus LOTS of practice.
