It was real awkward to know how to place bandages better than the nurses in the hospital...You get some real life lessons in this job!

70% isopropyl alcohol is the ideal concentration for disinfecting and it drops in efficacy as you go higher or lower. Don't use lower than 60% or higher than 80%. The advantage of ones in the 90's is that you can water them down to 70%. You also left out superglue for closing wounds. If it's good enough for a Dr. then it's good enough for me.

One should probably also note that it is not good to use hardware store CA-glues on wounds. Proper superglues for wounds are 2-octyl cyanoacrylate and n-butyl cyanoacrylate.

    Nice video great job!
Here in Russia i personally use БФ-6 (BF-6) glue which has antibacterial and bandage effect. Makes work in coolant environment more comfortable.

I also keep liquid styptic on hand to help stop minor cut bleeding. There are also some clotting agents in patch form to help control bleeding in worse than minor injuries to help slow or stop bleeding while on your way to more suitable medical attention.

Band aid, then electrical tape or like here in Canada, Hockey tape!
Works even if it gets wet and doesn’t come off. Had a 1/4” deep cut that didn’t want to stay closed up, bang it on something and it would open back up.
    Hockey tape fixed it

I've been using 3M's "soft cloth" surgical tape to make my own bandaids. Fold the adhesive side into itself to use as padding, and hold it onto the cut using another strip. It has great flexibility, doesn't slide off when exposed to oil, and keeps debris out completely (bandaids are comparatively terrible in all three of these categories). I highly recommend it!
    Thanks for the video

My go to is Triple Antibiotic Neosprin after wash - then fabric bandaid - THEN surgical tape to keep the band aid on.
I just started using 7mil Nitrile gloves last year so that might be good also
Antibiotic faster healing and get that splinter out using your Opti glasses

Not seeing any tegaderm, medical cyanoacrylate, or hydrocolloid bandages...
Dilute hydrogen peroxide has a bit of role in debridement, but going in to doctor is the right choice if you can't get all the crud out of it. Simple serile saline is way WAY better for debridement.

Calluses that get thick and brittle enough to crack are more of a liability than an asset. I've occasionally needed to sand the tips of my thumbs to prevent it.

A while ago I had to deal with a ton of stringy lathe chips at work (it was carpenter custom 465 and sharp as hell) and I kept destroying "cut resistant" gloves and getting cuts anyways. I found these hexarmor gloves (www.hexarmor.com/products/rig-lizard-2025) that were a billion times better than anything else. 2 years later I'm still using the first pair I bought and they are only just starting to get worn down. I now sell industrial safety supplies for a living, and these gloves are kind of expensive, but they are worth it. I'm not affiliated with hexarmor in any way, for the record, I work for a distributor.

Having built quite a few model aeroplanes, working with scalpels and boxcutters eventually lead to cuts. Superglue/hot stuff/cyanoacrylate was always at hand and efficient. To reduce scarring I use Aloe Vera gel, also great on burns. When a wound gets scabbed and starts to itch, I sand it down carefully to a thin crust and apply Aloe.
Afterthought - so pouring whisky over it like in the old westerns is no use unless it's a 150 proof moonshine???? Internal use only ;-)

I get cuts all the time. Surprised I'm ok after all this time. Coolant is nasty and I'm essentially a bar feeder for lathes and debur. Bandage to stop the blood from getting on the parts, but it gets coolant soaked. Gloves will get holes in them instantly.
