    I'm glad to hear you guys have the public vs private land discussion. It's one that I have with myself pretty frequently. I consider myself a libertarian, but that topic is where I tend to veer away from the more ancap stance. I'm not a hunter myself (at least not yet, I hope to start someday), but I do very much enjoy hiking and camping, and I'm also fully in support of hunting rights and the second amendment. I agree with Dan that the federal government certainly shouldn't be in charge of or own anything really. But at the same time, I'm not thrilled with the idea of privatizing land. I try not to be too hippy-dippy with land and the earth, but I would argue that land is sacred to some degree. They aren't making anymore of it, after all. My gut feeling is that all privatized land would lead to giant private ranches, shopping centers, and housing complexes. I don't know if there really is a great solution to this debate, if I'm being honest. I can see a lot of big time fallout with both situations.
