In this video titled EU4 1.34 Florence Guide - PLAYING TALL Is BROKEN As Florence I make an EU4 Guide for Florence for Europa Universalis 4 1.34 Lions of The North. With EU4 1.34 Lions of The North releasing the meta and the starting moves for many nations on the map has changed, so of course new and up to date guides are needed. This EU4 Florence starting moves guide or EU4 Florence starting moves tutorial will ensure that you get a great start for yourself playing as the nation of Florence. This guide covers the opening moves, diplomacy, estates, alliances, subjects, missions, national ideas, and more! Florence is one of the best nations for playing tall, dominating trade, having an overpowered army, trading, forming Tuscany, forming Italy and more. After watching this EU4 Florence guide you will ensure a great start for yourself, and you will have an easy and fun campaign. The save file is available for all Tier 1 and above TH-cam members in the save-games Discord channel.

@@antimatterg gotta love the order of the tectonic plates

Jessica I know you are reading this please come back with the kids 😭😭😭 nice video btw
You deserve this
💀
What!?!?
💀
so true
Watching this guide and feeling proud of myself every time Red Hawk mentions a strat I've been using for years. Instant Dip focus, sending merchants on Genoa + Venice for the Improve Relations bonus, staying on the HRE to stay low on their radar until you've expanded enough, it's all legit. Keeping a close eye on any opportunities depending on how the game goes is also super important; more than any other major country, Florence is really dependant on taking advantage of the situation around you.
The only major thing that I noticed you haven't mentioned is how good allying with Switzerland can be. They're not very strong as allies, but if you help them take over most of Milan and Savoy, you can then vassalize the two countries and declare re-conquer to avoid northern Italy's high AE.
As someone who likes playing in Italy, Milan favorite vassal. In addition to Naples if you have the luck of Aragon keeping or restoring the union and you can use the age bonus to get them as a vassal (not PU!) for 50% warscore cost
i had a florence into prince of eygpt soft reset into italy into roman empire recently, can safely say florence tall mercantile brewing imperium is in the top 5 most powerful nations in the game
Did you also have the patience to bring the Tunis region to 100% devistation?
@@fidoruh yeah it was awful but let me tell you this, SCORCHED EARTH IS YOUR FRIEND
@@fidoruh Have an army constantly situated at tunis and just fire off any war you can when the period of the debuff ends for the Provences, then after obtaining the achievement, LARP as the romans and turn the entirety of tunis into Truscans for their crimes of taking too long to devastate and for stealing your money all those games
I've formed Italy as Florence twice, as Milan maybe three times (that gov form is just soo good). Yet, this was not boring, and you even taught me a few tricks. I have 1.3k hours I think. Anyway, I just discovered your channel like three months ago and have been binging your content so hard I decided to watch this guide even though I thought I wouldn't need it. Great vid!
He doesn’t play well but his content is entertaining so
I just tried Florence into Sardinia-Piedmont into Italy into Rome. But I got so good start that getting 50% of piedmontese culture was almost impossible xd
Just remove states (unstate) which not Piedmontese. Change culture then add back those states.
@@kingfaisal97 I remembered about after 60 years of changing all cultures around 😀 it was too late to continue playing 😆 but thanks for advice 😊
Unrelated but after your A-Z Hungary video I tried them and followed your 1.32 guide and exploded with them. Would love a new and improved 1.34 guide with them. They could be a world conquest nation with all the powerful PUs they can get. I'm also the HRE as well.
Skill issue
Love your guides, man. You should do a Saluzzo guide, they have really good national ideas
I believe Savoy doesn't count to the Italian alliance mission as their capital is in France region
Hello, is there any chance you could do an updated Mamluks or Teutonic Order guide? Currently struggling with both of them
No CB byzantium before unpausing. Take Constantinople. Secure the Beyliks afterwords, and you've cucked the Ottomans so hard, they wont be a great power by the time the Reformation hits.
Naples is a fantastic vassal when not going tall because of their mission tree. Genoa also works as a European nation looking to expand upstream.
For northeastern Europe, Novgorod and Astrakhan are best.
could you please do a trade good mini-guide? :)
This and your 1.34 Castille video were what convinced me to subscribe! I had a great (for me, anyway) Castille game going on, but a combination of massive Muslim revolts with tens of thousands of soldiers combined with a condottieri being stackedwiped in France and a Morrocan/Mamluk invasion... that ended it, just as I getting ready to PU Portugal.
Ouch.
I was waiting for this
I have been messing around with Innovative and espionage on Florence, It make a big difference when you can take almost half of dozen provinces and not have 60+ AE to your name.
8:03 so i was forming rum with karaman recently and naples allied otto
I would love to see a video about So, being japanese Pirates :)
I haven't done that particular nation yet but seems like tons of fun.
Hey @theRedHawk. I love your guides and I've watched them all. I think they're the best guides for eu4. I wish that instead of redoing guides of the same nations you often do, you would do guides for other nations such as Oirat, Ming, Oda, and other underrated powerful nations that have a lot of flavour. Thanks for the videos 😊
my wife came back to me
Doesn't matter if you're a new player or not, you can still wait half the game before getting too much AE, doesn't matter.
You can start as an OPM and still conquer the world, without getting too much AE for the first half.
Controlled expansion is much much better in every way IMO, as long as you're picky with what you get - and use both yours and your vassals/released permaclaims.
Dismantling the HRE early as a European nation is important though if going WC.
20:32 always give away occupation in an AI-led war, unless you _actually_ plan to take any of them. These things happens, but should be a good footnote to be aware of
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's Majora!
You could make a timelapse and play it at the end of the videos. Would be cool, to have a summary after every A to Z, Releasables or guides, maybe just one minute or two
A Timurid guide would be cool with the new changes to disloyal vassals.
what were the changes to disloyal vassals?
@@Quadrophiniac They can declare for independence even when you're at war.
How about Tuscany? Should we form it or keep play as a Florence Rep.?
Why not activate golden age?
Could you please make second part? I would love to see later stage of the game.
Any reason why you didn’t seize land at the beginning?
Do an Anbennar video. Or just a vid on one of your favorite mods I'm curious
Someone know what are the debuffs for not being allied with the emperor?
Love these videos. Would you be able to do a Wallachia (probably misspelled I'm on my phone atm) guide at some point? I wanna play them but I keep getting destroyed by the AI.
I have done a Florence,Tuscany ,Italy from your first guide, love your videos. Just have to worry about a 600k ottomans. Any ideas for that?
Ally the commonwealth if they exist, and gangbang the Ottomans and their allies, that is how I have done it as Italy
Dear god that sounds like a nightmare. What were the results?
siena doesnt connect to napels becouse the port is in a different sea tile
How about a Venice guide as well?
innovative/espionage/offensive is the new meta
Good video keep op the good work😂❤
But why play in italy if you cant take rome?
Asking an ally for a province should cost more favors if it's a vassal. And if it's your own core it should cost more if it's not your primary culture.
Like I could see real world France taking Gibraltar from England and then giving it back to Spain, but imagine England conquers Dunkirk, calls it the "Duchy of Flanders" and asks the Netherlands to give them Antwerp cause hey man that's a core.
Naples always ally’s France or Austria in my games. I’m just unlucky. I love Florence tho. My favorite nation in Italy
I never spawned renaissance , i played florence so much and never spawned it as themm, waahhh
i would like to see a new castille guide
Is female advisor chance actually good? Like, are there better female advisors than the regular male ones? Cause I have played this game for like 4000 hours, and I always thought that was a pretty useless modifier, but I could be wrong. It doesn't matter how many hours you have in this game, you can always learn something new
Thats a beautiful france dang.
I don't know lately I like espionage idea
Unfortunatly in my game Ottomans litterly exterminate Hungary in 1472 and own 300k army and also half of Italy bordering with me and to make things worse, rivaling me. If I'm not just unlucky, I then have no idea who am I.
Austria or how to form Japan.
For me lucca is always an allies of austria
can you play Portugal?
Ah Firenze, the city of dead Auditore family members and unnecessarily aggressive hand gestures underlining every word.
In the words of the great Peter Griffin: "Boppity Boopity"
Your next guide should be Tuscany again, but for Victoria 3
THE FLORENCE DOMINATION IS REAL
Can we get much higher? So high
I'm new to the game and I don't really know what playing "tall" mean. Could someone explain It pls?
It means when u develop so ur very strong but u don’t have lots of land. The opposite would be wide, wide is conquering a lot
@@khalidabdi9799 Thank You!!
tunisian sicily is genuinely cursed
It’s worth to have donatello for the mission
HOLY SHIT THE FLORENCE ON THE VIDEO'S COVER LOOKS LIKE AFRICA
Do Albania , it has been a year now
What? No pain?
Ah yes, true best Italian nation
The TRUE best italian nation is Provence.
Nah its Byzantium
I feel like florence should spawn the reniasncee 70% of the time
SiG NORRRia
