There are Ten varieties of silk clothes observed in Orient Countries. Starting from puriest & most expensive (1) Sun Silk (2) Moon Silk (3) Star silk(SS). (4 ) Star silk with combination with cotton (C) -- SS (90% ) with C(10%) .As Silk is decreased by 10% at each step & cotton increased by 10% ,you get the lower quality silk clothes. The reason for this is that Royalty, Nobility , Merchantile ,Affluent & Common Class could have access to silk clothes or reprieve during Hot weather. Lower quality silk was worn as everyday wear by upper 4 classes during hot weather. .We Asians have a rich diversity of Clothes , Food & Culture since Ancient times.
