*Afterword* - If you were going to tell me a year ago that I’d become a famous Kirby TH-camr that thought up making this crazy video idea and actually pushed the envelope, cranking the meme-cover all the way to 11 while being completely serious the entire time, I would not have believed you. The fact that I even pulled this off is still so unreal, lol!
Allow me to give you the definitive explanation of “Roar of Dedede - with Lyrics!” This cover is not a song about King Dedede losing himself in a Forgotten Land. No, that would be too easy, far too similar to covers other TH-camrs have already made, and most unfitting for Kirby with Lyrics Season 1’s final song. Rather, “Roar of Dedede - with Lyrics!” instead blazes the trail as an entertaining meta-commentary about the song itself: its ramifications upon the gaming community, and, more importantly, the unsung heroes who brought the song and the character it represents into existence.
The Kirby community has always been fractured into two very distinct and isolated parties: the Japanese audience and the international fanbase. For such a long time, the language barrier has kept these two groups far apart and unable to convene. Thus, very little has been done outside of Japan to really take a deep dive of appreciation towards the series’ creators and developers. Perhaps there was a documentary here and a brief “thank you” message there, but indeed even these small quips could not garner the attention of the oblivious western Kirby audience as a whole. To summarize, “Shinya Kumazaki” just wasn’t quite a well-recognized house name as “Masahiro Sakurai,” which, in all earnest, is still fair considering how much more Mr. Sakurai has done for revolutionizing the gaming industry in general.
And so, this cover was my humble attempt to shine a light on the developers, to wrap this message in a more delectable package no one could resist to open (As I expected, most people thought I was just gonna do a Juno Songs / RecD-style cover). To imagine the real story that took place behind the gates at HAL Laboratory; to uncover the truth of how the most iconic Kirby song of 2022 was made to be!

Like you said, I was totally expecting another interpretation of Dedede's experience in the Forgotten Land, but seeing this song be used as a deep dive into HAL Labs lore as well as a shoutout to the underappreciated Shinya Kumazaki, and essentially the Kirby fanbase as a whole is really beautiful to see and just an unexpected twist in general. Overall an amazing way to end the first season of what I'm glad is its own series now, and I look forward to seeing more bangers later on.

King Dedede is definitely one of my favorite Kirby characters and this just makes me love him even more, I especially love the part where it shows Dedede’s moments though out the years. The way this song ditches the in - character commentary motif entirely and just praises our lords while also accurately describing the storm that was brewing inside of HAL Labs, ready to change the world forever...

I like how this song is less about the battle Kirby has against Dedede in Forgotten Land, but more about celebrating the Kirby series as a whole and meming about how HAL somehow made Dedede’s theme even better than it already (which is actually oddly fitting for a character like Dedede. It’s definitely my favourite rendition of Dedede’s theme in the franchise as well as my favourite theme in the entire game (yes I’m boring).

Oh you can just do that with any premiere video. There's an option in TH-cam studio to add a trailer from your existing videos. Said trailer can be unlisted, I think.
