The issue with the guitar is the volume is too low, a guitar can't compete in loudness with a violin, let alone the brass... The amplifier makes the guitar sound unnatural, it feels lie being inside the guitar it's weird. That said i would love to have a guitar section.
@@davidcia this is true, if only historically there were architectural adaptations to compensate and enhance the acoustics for guitars. Theatres were and are of course built with that in mind, but for guitars in orchestras would be really cool if possible; still wouldn't be feasible as even attempting that would ruin the acoustics for all other instruments in the ensemble of the orchestra. Welp, these are my ramblings for the day
Hahah this arrangement is so much fun! Fantastic work from the Quartet! (And it is easy to forget to appreciate what a well-crafted work this is by Liszt - its ubiquity can make us take a lot of the great melodic gestures, the call-backs, the playful rhythms for granted - in fact this music was pretty "out there" for the 1850s.)
In my opinion, the fact that classical music doesn't usually have words is what makes it better than popular music.. it's left up to the listener to interpret what the piece is about!
I am in awe! Bellisimo. I can't get enough of these guys now. A business associate is married to one of these fine gentlemen and I feel like I've been missing out on a gem in my own town. Bravo LAGQ. Andele!
As one who grew up playing classical (and other styles of) piano, I know quite a bit about music, and I too am appalled by some of these comments. These gentlemen are truly master musicians, and I would buy an album of their music in a heartbeat. I live in the D.C. area but am from SoCal, and I would definitely take the opportunity to see them when I am next in LA.
@musicman8942 idk if you've ever noticed or not, but a lot of classical guitarist use these "braces" as opposed to footrests. in fact, i went to see these guys a couple nights ago and two of the four of them were using them, scott tennant wasnt using anything. and he still tore it up.
@musicman8942 Its all about posture for the classical guitar, with a strap you wouldnt have the same capabilities, tone, or physical ability to sustain playing on the classical guitar. The brace is just a replacement for the footstool, the footstool is just to hold the guitar higher for the left hand. Hope this helped :D
hhhhh this is somehow weard for me, it is the first time for me to get the chance to talk to someone starting his day when I getting ready for bed but I really like it
They had great music in the old theatrical cartoons. Modern cartoons rarely play with the old masterworks.

That's a great song.... People say that it was in Tom and Jerry, Loonie Tunes and so on, but nobody says that: yes, this came from a Hungarian virtouso!
it seems to be an extension to the guitar i think its an extra bass string for the lower parts of the this transcription thats why no one else plays except him at about 2:35 into the video
Yes, it's true that most people know classical music through cartoons, but it's better than them not knowing it at all, and not listening to it because it "has no words" as some of the girls on my bus say when I ask them about classical music.
Pretty awesome! But I must say that this piece played with classical guitar doesn't sound very dramatic on those fast parts. It sounds kinda "pling plong" but that is just because of the sound of the instrument. But anyway great performance.
whoa... that extra bass string on John's guitar makes this piece so incredible!!
I missed that...thanks for pointing that out!
What are they tuned at?

This is why I believe symphony orchestra need a guitar section. Guitars add a whole new dimension to music.
Listen to the 1984 Dune movie soundtrack
It’s by the band Toto and it’s really amazing

O som do violão é muito mais bonito que o som do piano
Beautiful rendition of Franz Liszt's Rhapsody No. 2.
WOW !
Absolutely love this arrangement and performance !

Really splendid and great arrangement!!!
Marvalous interpretation of an all time masterpiece composition.
In my opinion, the fact that classical music doesn't usually have words is what makes it better than popular music.. it's left up to the listener to interpret what the piece is about!

Un excelente arreglo y adaptación para 4 guitarras. Congratulaciones.

Parabéns, excelente apresentação!!!!
Molto bello, molto bravi!
I am amazed at some of the comments. They obviously know very little about music.
As someone who knows very little of music, it's more that they're trolls, or a certain type of idiot

Why are you amazed by this? Do you know much about atronomy? About anatomy? About every single thing? Why should they?
@@KitsuhROBLOX so you're telling me you have to know more than a little music to express your opinion/comment on a music video

@sovietsentinel what a wonderful idea :) but mate you would need a guitar with 4 necks haha !!!
Eletrizante!
this is very nice
@An1malcr0ss1ng AND the Animaniacs cartoon "Wakko's Wish", where the melody was given lyrics in "The Wishing Star" song.

Molto bueno!
A very difficult piece for the piano. I'm sure it is equally difficult on four guitars. Good show.
This song is indeed playable on 1 guitar. I tried it already but it sounds choppy on 1 guitar alone. Probably need 2 guitars to make it flow nicely.
Bravo
Am I the only one that hears a little 'Capricho Arabe' by Tarrega in this?
@zacrichey The strap is not a physical inconvenience. If you look up guitarist David Starobin you can see what he does with the guitar... :)
