I’ve had one for 2 years and mine doesn’t drain like you mentioned. I threw it on the charger and I can take it off and not use it for a week and when I go to use it I have the regular full battery life. No issues at all and mine has been through hell and back with me
I got stuck in the forest up in flagstaff. I kept this headlamp in my truck for situations like the one I was in…. I was so upset man. I really needed it BAD and it let me down. I had no batteries and I was in the middle of no where with a dead phone, stuck truck, and no light. Never again.
LOL you let yourself down, I just brought one home and the triple-a pack is already in a ziploc bag with a package of triple-a batteries. That's literally the point of it being included.

You are absolutely correct wtf good is a flashlight if you can't store batteries in it? I replaced an aging 15 year old Bushnell which refuses to die. I will go back with Bushnell again. thank you very much, the instructions that came with my sucked. Didn't tell you how to swap out the batter packs, I as about ready to bust out my tiny screw driver set because I figured you had to unscrew them to swamp them out, good thing I decided to google first LOL. I agree with you 100% on the battery draining issue, I think my solution will be to leave it plugged in with the rechargeable battery installed so it's ready when I need it.
Was pretty easy to see how you pull the packs out and swap them. I had the same thought about the screwdriver until I noticed the tab and pulled up on it.

Bought this before I saw your video, and so far haven't had any issues, but thanks for the heads up. I would hate to have an emergency and not have a dependable head lamp.
My rechargeable battery won't charge. I've had mine for a year and multiple uses, never took the battery out but when it did die from normal use it just wouldn't charge.

I got 2 of them and my first one same issue won’t keep charge even if it’s not on and motion sensor won’t work but I bought a new one not to long ago and it’s still charged and motion sensor works I might buy a 3rd and use my first one as a spare
I use mine every night for a two hour walk. I charge it a few times per week and leave the battery pack in it when not charging and haven’t had any issues.
I leave mine charged and together but not closed. It’s always ready to go. I have another brand that cost more than double and it has to stay plugged in to be charged. This one is is much better for unexpected use. I keep it in the car for checking properties.
I’ve had this light for a year and use it daily. Mine don’t drain the battery when it’s off like yours. My only complaint is the back up battery. I wish it was chargeable like the main one. It don’t have a cover holding the batteries in so it’s a pain in the ass when you put it in your pocket to carry with you. When you need to use it the batteries will be scattered in your pocket. It’s hard to put them back in correctly in the dark. Other than that the light has been great. I’d buy another one
Just bought one...1 thing just want to mention,if someone cant return product anymore, is you can cut a small thin piece of plastic,or anything for that matter to put between the battery and terminal (so that battery is still with unit and not draining at the same time) with that said, complete BS that have to even do that in 1st place but also motion activation does not work at all on mine...blue light comes on but all the times i tried using the feature.. never turned on which is why i came here to youtube see if anyone else having issues...So ya i agree with ever single word you say even as far as trusting a dollar tree headlamp over this thing...smh
I bought one I was excited I've been wanting to get a decent headlamp and the whole thing never worked from the start, I followed the directions and didn't do anything like drop it or anything and it just never worked at all, I do think it's a one off but I've bought cheapies from harbor freight that worked, unfortunately I lost the receipt too so I'm out 30-40 bucks, a little disappointed
Got one for Xmas and it already killed two sets of triple AAA batteries. I filly charged the chargeable battery and decided to test that and low and behold that was dead as a door nail . Am recharging that now. Once that is fully charged again, I'll throw it in and test how long that takes to drain and die . Ridiculous that this is an issue.

The Swiss tech 500 lumen rechargeable is a great item . Extremely bright. Great for hunting etc. And stays charged. Was going to upgrade but will stick with the 500 lumen. Give that one 9-10. Bulky is only reason for the 9
No its call luck, all these people and this video yea have the lamp LEMON. I have the same one too from walmart and I test it precharge it lasted maybe 1 hours hmm? not a complain its a precharge, I charge it 1 time then waited 12 hours left in the socket. I test it it still works idk what ya be talking about it died cause i left it in the battery socket. so i test drive by seeing how long will the battery last on full charge low mode? The result gave me 18 hours.
On point. Good quality but drains battery. Will be buying something to replace it. Use every night for outside chores and don't want to have to charge every night.
Mine did the exact same problem, wouldn’t hold a charge 75% of the time i left the battery pack in it, once in a while it would actually keep the charge but very rarely, thanks for the vid
My opinion on this light is the exact opposite. I've had it for about 6-7 months. I can go grab it right now out of my tool bag and it will light right up. I charge it 1 or 2 times a week, 3 tops. It's been through rain, snow, dust, oil, dropped... still works great. The motion sensor on mine has always required me to move my hand no more than 2-3" from the light to activate it. If it's raining or the sensor gets to dirty it has trouble. Can't complain about that though. I do have one complaint though... where do I find just the damn battery pack for this fucking thing!?!? I have rechargeable aaa that I use in the adapter, but another actual pack would be cool. 4.8 out of 5 for me.

I bought one of these pieces of shit from Walmart here in Michigan on 3/03/2024. I didn't work at all right out of the box with regular batteries or the re-chargeable pack. I returned it for a refund on 3/06. Talk about about false advertising using the name "Swisstech" like they're trying to give the impression that it's some kind of fantastic technology designed in Switzerland, when it's just made in China junk. I had another headlamp that was about 20 years old and still worked good, but the band area finally gave out. And last year I bought a NEBO 400 Lumens headlamp that also has a red light feature, and haven't had any trouble with it yet (even though it's also made in China). The main reason I was looking to get a new headlamp was because I wanted one with a brighter light. I'll go to some sporting goods stores this time to find another one instead of getting a Walmart brand.

Now the battery chart claim 7 hours on the lowest setting On the precharge it didn't last long, so I charge it took 2 hours wow that fast..... I test it again on the lowest setting 200 lumens by letting it sit on the ground waiting to see if it going to die? I clock it from 6pm to 12pm, that is over 18 hours of use :D
I will be honest I think you just got a bad one. I have had mine for about a year and have used it alot for small 5 or 10 minute jobs and have only charged it twice. My motion sensor also works great every time and I have not had the issue I see in this video. Maybe you had a bad solder on your board or something. Overall I will say I belive it has been my favorite headlamp and it doesn't eat expensive batteries for breakfast like my streamlight.
I was actuallly just mad because they only had the 500 lumens available so i bought it, but i wanted the hands free …..the 500 comes charged out the box lol no reason wjy thet couldnt just use the same battery…. I have this exact same headlamp I got lucky and found it 3 months ago in the clearance isle at Wally World for about $20 I’ve only charged mine once the day I bought it and it never fails to turn on for me I do however have the same issue with the motion sensor that has yet to work at all Tho in my opinion it doesn’t make much sense to have a motion sensor on a headlamp honestly If it’s on my head it’s in use and constantly moving around Lol

ive been telling myself i need to disassemble it and look for a short because mine does the exact same thing, i took it apart and found no short, ive had this light for quite some time and it suddenly developed the problem of not holding the charge, so ive just been popping the pack in backwards until i need it, inconvenient is an understatement. at the same time it developed the phantom battery drain, the motion sensor also quit working, you can do the harlem shake in front of it, i wont turn on if its in the off posotion, and it wont turn off if in the on position. other than that been impressed with the light. anyone else have a failing motion sensor or even a decent instruction manual that explains the operation, its always been a little unclear on the process, do we turn the light on first then go to motion sesor or start with the light off and go to motion sensor? neither process makes the light work in the oton sensor setting, the blue light comes on so its trying but just wont hunt....

I charge it and test it by letting it sit stand by to see how long will it last cause alot of people complain it went did by 1 hour first time I charge it or 8 hours of use it died or in the comment here complain that there battery died from leaving there battery in the socket. I left my battery in the socket for 12 hours not use then test it. I set it on the lowest mode from 6PM to 12PM, result is 18 hours.... so idk what ya been doing yours or you just got a lemon.
One of the biggest pieces of junk complicated like you’re talking and it doesn’t stay very bright for very long. When you use the rechargeable battery then you got the pain in the ass thing where you gotta carry the other little part. If you wanna use batteries, I would never suggest buying this flashlight, they need to catch up with times. Junk junk junk. Expensive junk.
I bought the headlamp I think it's the same model 31620 and they must have fixed something in it because I left the rechargeable battery in it for 3:45 days even more than a week and went to go grab it and it still had good power to it
It's not meant for the quick draw. It's a headlamp, a great headlamp.

I’m a little confused. Why does it drain either the rechargeable or the tripe As when left in the headlamp. Maybe I missed something?

On the low mode I test it 18 hours this light last long with just charger but with my AAA Energizer I say 18 hours of uses.

The reason your battery is depleting, is because you’re leaving the Lamp ON with the MOTION CONTROL. I’ve left mine for weeks and it works fine. 😂

Cycle the light setting you want to use first, then press motion button.
