    I don't know about the 6500 lumen Swiss tech flashlight I've always wanted to see how bright it really is but all I know is I own the 6000 lumen Kodiak flashlight and it's the brightest flashlight I've ever had the only inconvenience I see in the Kodiak flashlight is that it takes nearly 24 hours to fully charge when completely dead

    I was disappointed with the Swiss tech it doesn’t “spotlight” or focus enough to go far out. In Texas you can legally hunt rabbits at night and it really was a let down. Other than that it’s insanely bright and will light up a huge area.

    I feel like this review is missing some very important things. What's the zoom range, can it get tight? What about heat, when you're talking about high lumens, some of these flashlights can get quite hot, how do these feel after 5 min on highest setting? What about charge display, do either of these let you know the power % the battery is at? Thanks.

    • @SonicKiwi123
      @SonicKiwi123 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not a tight beam at all. Gets very hot on the 6kL setting, and can only run for 30s on 10kL. It's essentially a handheld floodlamp

  • @georgehofgren6123

    Interesting comparison.. Don't think i noticed the Kodiak when i purchased the Swiss Tech (6500). The Swiss tech Definitely feels (and is) solid in the hand. My first one had defective leds to show the power level (was prolly just misaligned inside), but definitely convinced me to wait for another to come in to the store. It has double o-rings on the end and unlike most of these Baton-style lights you must remove the battery to charge it. This can be an advantage because it makes it more watertight, especially over time. Another guy posted a video of him testing the Swiss Tech (not a great video btw), to see if it was waterproof he left it in a bucket of water for.... Six Days. He pulled it out and it worked fine. Then he noticed just a bit of water under the lens... which anyone else would have let dry or gotten out somehow. Instead he just left the light on until it cracked the thick lens. Flashlight still worked fine i think. Basically he trashed the light, but any Flashlight you can keep underwater for nearly a Week and still be good... uh, yeah i like it. It's hugely bright. When i use it, it's typically on lowest power, zoomed all the way to make the smallest spot. It's no "thrower". In fact i think it's designed to be bright closer up than usual, thus better as a self-defense tool. And for that purpose, the weight and solidness of it could deliver some damage. I like how solid the thing is. The company stresses that it's made-in-china, but that they are based in US and design their lights here. Inside the battery unit are two 21700 batteries, which are the size/type being used by the rest of the companies now. (there's two and i bet you could replace them when needed) BTW, to turn it Off, w/o having to cycle thru high, just hold the button down for 2secs. Definitely has some power... if you were going off-roading, you could just strap it to your roof rack and have an instant offroad light. Or, if you somehow drove into the water, this thing would certainly smash a window out to escape ~

    • @SurvivingtheDaily
      @SurvivingtheDaily  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did end up returning the SwissTech and keeping the Kodiak. The SwissTech is a very solid flashlight but the deciding factor for keeping the Kodiak was that you don't have to remove the battery to charge it. It was more of a convenience for me. But I had absolutely no complaints with the SwissTech.

    Looks like the Kodiak is a cold light VS soft light idk if that's the case I know it's a thing , I'm getting the swiss for Christmas but I wish I'd check the stats first under 300m throw not good all flood I've already picked out another search light with less lumen that looks brighter and throws 750 plus yards with some flood and only 5500 lumen I think a lot of manufacturers lie about lm I have some that say they do over 100,000 lumen lucky if they are 1000 lumen

    • @SurvivingtheDaily
      @SurvivingtheDaily  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right about some manufacturers that lie about the amount of lumens. Usually those are the Chinese based companies trying to sell their product with deception. But lumens isn't the whole story with flashlights and how far they throw. You can have a high lumen light with low candela which equates to a short throw and big flood of light. Alternatively, you can have a lower lumen light with high candela which will give you a long throw and more of a targeted beam with less flood. Both of these lights are low candela but the Kodiak seems, judging with the naked eye, to have a little more. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the candela rating for either of these flashlights.

      @@SurvivingtheDaily Okay, so I now own TWO of these. The first flashlight arrived with a defective power bank (either the 4th LED was defective or it just wasn't accepting a charge), and I was instructed by Customer Service to discard it, after which they issued me a refund (which I then used to purchase the second flashlight 🔦😃🔦).
      Both flashlights look flawless and work beautifully (imo); the first one uses 9 fresh Duracell Optimum AA's, while the second one is powered by its (fully charged) power bank.
      Before the replacement arrived I used the 9xAA-powered flashlight around the house (for maybe a total of 5 minutes altogether) and thought to myself, "a power bank-powered light can't *possibly* be brighter than this." (I've never owned/used a flashlight anywhere near as bright as the Zuverlässig, regardless of what's powering it.)
      I was wrong: the flashlight with the Li-ion power bank IS definitely much brighter when both are switched on, side by side, and in the same mode. I'm a very happy camper. Thanks again for making/uploading this video! 🤗

    First and foremost I can tell you it is not the most powerful flashlight it is not 3,000 lumens. My Coast HP550 is Brighter an has a tighter range. On high id say its hitting the 950- 1000 with its tightest focus(Not saying it isn't bright) My HP550 hits 1100. But what I will say good about this flashlight is that for $40 it comes with a 5200mAh power bank/Battery. Which is very nice the construction seems pretty good and I like the design. BUT NOT the most POWERFUL FLASHLIGHT in Walmart.

      I know there are better ways to measure the output of flashlights, ie candela, but unfortunately they are required to only market them using lumens. With that said, these two flashlights are two highest lumen output at MY Walmart. Your mileage may vary.
