Been using for the last 4 years a LEDLENSER H14R.2 and was 100 % happy. The battery pack has lasted 4 yrs. used every day for 8 hrs conservatively , I am blind in one eye and good eye is not so good! I finally replaced it through MAC tools with this Coast XPH 30 R 1200 LUMS. This Coast is much lighter but only time will tell . The LEDLENSER had the option of clipping battery pack on your belt , long cable fed the lamp. The comments sound encouraging.
4 years of daily use is very impressive actually. Hope you enjoy the Coast! Just be careful doing it because of the cheap plastic holders but Coast warranty/support is very good.
Great job on the reviews and clear, crisp presentation! Found it very helpful. Have just bought the Coast. Love that I can change out the batteries so as not to miss any work time. Bought and extra battery for just that reason. Also, do love the white light since I'm old and my eyes are not as good as they used to be. Works for me.
I have this coast and I put it in a slipknot above my ice shanty for those 4am morning bites..cold weather dosnt effect this light !!! I also use it for auto and bow and gun hunting absolutely love this light!!
I just wanted to say thank you and exactly what I would this video to consist of! Very professional and informative! It's coming from someone you'd be working with out in the field!
Having worked on FeDEX trucks at night for 10 years I have seen a leap forward with head led lamps . Your complaints are the same as mine and much improvements need to be made with the padding on the forehead and the durability and flexibility of the headbands. These lights are indispensable in freeing up your hands with the task at hand . I’ve watched thousands of videos and you do a good presentation of each product . I will subscribe to your channel .
Thanks for the feedback and for sharing your thoughts. Just wondering, is there a headlamp that you found to be "great" for what you need for your work (aside from these 2)?
@@lmsdiy I used NEBO and the large head lamp offered by Harbor freight with the battery pack on the back side of the band . One is very light the other is heavier but balanced . The Coast looks to be more flexible on or off the head band and the magnet would come in handy when working under a truck at a hard to get to location .
Thank you. These were my top two choices from Home Depot. Based on Home Depot reviews - only 57% of 1042 reviews recommended the Milwaukee while a whopping 97% of 268 reviews recommended Coast. So Coast it is.
Nice... I'm still using the Coast and loving it. I have broken the headband plastic clips twice now and Coast sends me replacement plastic piece in the mail within a week. 🙂
Damn, I was worried looking at it the plastic clips where the light attached would break easy from being removed and replaced so much. Didn’t think it’d break where u had it but shows it’s not as rugged. Going with the Milwaukee
Thank you for this review really go's in depth, I work in hvac and iv been in some tight dark places I was considering the coast or something I could find at homedepot
👍 I’ve been using it for over a year now and still enjoy it! I have dropped it and broken the plastic clip twice now but Coast support sent me a replacement clip each time with no fuss and it arrived within a few days.
The milwaukee is a power house, I love it, but like others have said it's bulky/heavy I love the coast head lamps, extremely light weight but the battery life isn't as good as the milwaukee. I recently picked up a FL75R and FL89 Coast head lamps with the adjustable light focus, absolutely love them!!! Still love my milwaukee for long jobs, but for quick 1hr or less jobs, coast all day
ALSO Coast is selling the FL75R for $25ea if you buy 2 new open box versions, I talked to a representative on the phone and they literally are brand new, but without packaging, plus you save $35 off a $60 headlamp and it comes with the $15 rechargeable battery!! I bought 4 😂👍
My pleasure. Update: I dropped the Coast again and the same plastic piece holding the headband snapped off. I contacted Coast for lifetime warranty and they mailed me a replacement plastic piece and it arrived within a week.
It's a great flashlight but just be careful not to drop it. I just dropped it on the concrete floor and if it lands on the corner (4 corners are plastic), it snaps like a pretzel stick. It's made to drop on the grass or in the dirt but definitely not on concrete. I've broken it 3 times now and the last time Coast sent me two replacement brackets just in case I break it again. Coast support is excellent.
Wow that's bright. Come to think of it, I pretty much never use the super bright mode. I always forget it's actual an option on there because it's a "long press" to enable it.
I can't predict that one unfortunately. 😔 You could do a comparison test by putting a fully charged battery on each tool and zip-tying the trigger and running a stop watch to see which one runs longer.
@@java2894 my bad sorry... I thought this was a question on the comparison between the stubby impact wrench and the cordless ratchet. 🙏 The Coast definitely lasts longer than the Milwaukee. The way I use it, the Coast will last a full day. The Milwaukee maybe 4 hours.
Yeah the pricing has definitely gone in different directions since this video was published. $120+ for the Milwaukee now and $70 for the Coast (in Canada)!
The XPH34R Coast is even better. Love the Coast lights. Thx for the comparison😎🤘🏻

I've got two Coast flashlights and I am super impressed with the quality of them. I keep their inspection light at my EDC.
Really can't go wrong with Coast. Very nice product line for EDC. 👍
Awesome and comprehensive review. I'm leaning towards the Coast one after watching this review.
So far so good. I have not broken the second one yet 😂
Thanks for this! This is by far the best real world review for these lights I’ve seen.
Thanks, Don! Happy to hear that it was helpful! 👍🙏
I got the coast to go out hunting with and it's really impressive. Everyone comments about it...the beam really helps cut thru the fog. It throws
I could see it being an excellent headlamp for hunting and all types of outdoor activities! 👍

amazing review !!
Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated! 🙂
Great video! 👍
Thanks for the feedback! 🙂
I have the Milwaukee 475 and it weighs a ton. You can really feel the weight to it all day long.
Yes I agree. The Coast is much lighter to wear and the battery lasts all day and then some!
I order the Coast today at Amazon and it only cost me $44.97. You said it was around $70 so I thought I ordered for the wrong one, but it's the same.
Wow! Great deal!! 👍
@@lmsdiy The light was the same but it didn't include the helmet strap and clips, which I don't use. It only had the regular head-strap.
@@oskie316 Sounds like you bought the Milwaukee? Either way... I don't use the helmet clips either and that's an excellent deal!
@@oskie316 if you’re talking about coast, there’s two of them. One at 1000 lumens which is around 40ish. The the other at 2075 lumens worth $80ish
There are 2 coast models that look nearly identical however the one is brighter. I believe the brighter one is the xph34r
Is the Milwaukee battery replaceable?
Yes. You can get replacement/spare batteries and keep them charged and on-hand.
Coast 34r
I will go with the coast. But how did you brike it?

I have the coast fl 86 and Milwaukee 600 lumens. I like them both, but milwaukee is a little better.
Nice... I personally find Milwaukee (in general) to be tougher and more durable than other brands.
that coast model now is 1200 lumens. ill get myself one for sure. ah sorry im referring to the XPH30R. my bad.
Wow that's bright. Come to think of it, I pretty much never use the super bright mode. I always forget it's actual an option on there because it's a "long press" to enable it.
I had coast for one month and the switch on and off not working anymore
Brutal! Definitely should contact Coast for support. They are really good and respond quickly. 👍
Which have the most run time in real
I can't predict that one unfortunately. 😔 You could do a comparison test by putting a fully charged battery on each tool and zip-tying the trigger and running a stop watch to see which one runs longer.
I only use each on a part-time basis so I never run out of juice and just charge them regularly. 🙂
Am thinking the coast to run on the 400 lumes time

Don’t know about anyone else but I don’t see yellow so how is yellow natural lol anyway good video bro
Beats me, lol. That’s what they call it 😁
I guess the sun is more a natural yellow and fake lights like at Walmart are more whiteish? 🤷🏻♂️😂
Olight is the best
But they don’t line up with price as the regular price is much more lol
Yeah the pricing has definitely gone in different directions since this video was published. $120+ for the Milwaukee now and $70 for the Coast (in Canada)!
Having used both I’d say Milwaukee for durability but Coast for better overall value.
Milwaukee batteries are garbage. Great tools..crap lights
Yes you are right. Plus coast been in business longer that Milwaukee in lights. So coast is better for that matter.
