Stripe exists and works only because of credit cards and countries like us not upgrading their tech. In india we have moved beyond card payments its super easy to pay here and everyone uses it even in villages. US is afraid if UPI so they are not adopting it. For subscriptions we have UPI mandates it automatically charges monthly subscription payments directly. In india we can build businesses without stripe unless wanting to get paid from abroad. If other countries adopt UPI then theres no need for stripe. Or else stripe can integrate UPI in their checkout page and co exist.

Great video. Patrick of Strip will survive and thrive. He made the hard decision early, and is able understand the world around him. Thanks you for introducing me to the Strip mafia.
Stripe has to use XLM in order to stay relevant. That's Stripes secret sauce for sustainability = Stellar. Nothing touches stellar-ripple interoperability, speed, scale & cost.
paypal is much better than stripe because with stripe you will lose money and the items/products you are selling. they don't get in between seller and buyers dispute and buyers always get their money back and keep the product. with paypal you have to back your claims which is much better.
We have to put the internet on hold. Take it offline no google or any other sources. That or make a law you have to pay a subscription for internet access.
@@cristianandrei5462 maybe you have your reasons which is fine, however if this hasn't happened to you (which I don't know) then you would never know how it feels to be discriminated against. I can tell you first hand it is downright depressing and painful.
@@AiCreativeSolutions my reasons are simple: how the Chinese government treats his people. It's a dictatorship, and if I had any international business I will refuse to deal with that. I've been discriminated against on a personal level ( which this is not, I'm not saying Chinese people are the problem, the government is), but this is morally chosing to not do buisiness with said country, because you oppose said country dictatorship and what the government does to the people.
Let me guess, you are not a programmer and not techie because you think Patrick is a movies super star evil and not a nerd. That's what happens when not a programmer try to understand a programmer
Absolute stupidly negative narrative, business is tough and they have seem opportunity and seized it. HATE BEGRUDERS LIKE YOU. Their share price is $40 and they are probably the most successful start up in the world and your creating this rubbish
I just learned about him. Reason why he’s not as popular as other billionaires is that he’s not being like a celebrity
You don’t get enough credit for the visual analogies. Great work
True and it’s definitely one of the harder things to do for editing I spend hours tryna find the right visuals to match the words

Suggestion for a new video: Steven Schwarzman

A man of action, ambition, and controversy.
hardly unknown, you can’t read any tech journals without his name being mentioned
Only virgins read tech journals
@@megalomedia Good point sir good point! Love the content so keep it up. I apologise for this negative-sounding content.

Everyone has heard of Stripe but almost no one knew how big and involved they were. Thanks, good informative video.
For an unknown person, there sure is plenty of footage of him doing interviews and television appearances :)
Fantastic choice of content, because it's true! Didn't know about him until now.

Stripe assigns risk on people based on government databases if u are high risk or not mainly based on your race or country.
Great channel amazing content 👏👏👏👏
I love the level of snark in this, enough to be humourous but not enough to be nasty. Good job 👍
Fantastic Doc!
Keep up ..my kind of guy. ..
I personally pay Spotify through PayPal and have never used stripe (knowingly)
When the party is over, the real ones come out to play.

That is not the youngest person to ever earn a billion dollars. Many other people have done it.
It looks like a massive real estate fraud software company. All those people are going to prison for a very long time or worse.

13:30 MUSIC?
Why does Kevin look like the lead singer of boy band 98 degrees?
You should do an episode on Jorge Paulo Lemann, the Brazilian magnate behind Burger King, and Kraft Heinz
Might be interesting, the guy which PE firm bought Heinz with Berkshire together, right?
Great Vid!
Thanks.

You said he dropped outta mit in 09 but he said they teamed up to make automatic in 07
I m still in gogo gaga mode.
Why does he not have an Irish accent?
Exactly. The background story is the legend created by his handlers - the CIA 👍🏻
He is good at financing i know
Patrick’s red hair is a bit concerning
He is NOT the ruler of Silicon Valley - Doug Leone, CEO of Sequoia Capital is.
Are you kidding? Stripe’s payment system is pure garbage. Square works every time.
Stripe have discriminatory policies against some countries
If you talk about china, I 100 percent agree with him and will do the same in his shoes.
