    FANTASTIC! i ha e been researching for days and getting more confused by the day. Your video helped tremendously! For example, it led me to some good panels at more affordable prices and, it helped me to SEE how the mini works powering the fridge while it is being charged by solar power. I can't thank you enough! Give Brooklyn a belly rub for me.

    I have the Delta Mini which I bought on 5 July 2022 & used HoboTechs discount coupon & paid $711.29. It will power my frig/freezer in the apt for 10 hours if fully charged. It uses up 10% of battery capacity every hour. My older frig/freezer draws between 185-145 watts when the compressor is running.
    As an aside, when I'm "Slow" charging my Delta Mini @200W it recharges 10% of the Delta Mini's battery capacity every 30 minutes, ie about 5 hours from dead to full charge.
    My Delta Mini will run my 1.3 cu ft (45 qt) Engel Freezer for 30 hours from full to dead.
    Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada

    Love your videos. I have a Delta 2Max, extra Max battery, Delta 2, 2 260Ah LiFePO4 batteries set up as additional night time reserves if needed and a rigged 1200W panel system.
    I use this as RV power and home supplementation when not RVing.
    One easy improvement would be to use the table to angle the panels toward the sun. Laying the table on its side would make it more stable so it doesn't flip over. Then just angle the panel on the side of the table to the ground. Makes quite a difference as you showed with the portable panels. Probably wouldn't have saved the day since you had a couple low sun days but would have given more charge on the sunny days for sure.
    Solar is addicting :)

    I really appreciate how you explain usage on the equipment. I’m not an electrician so figuring out what I can plug into which power station has been confusing so i stick to only using the 160w panels for individual stations. I have the Delta 1300 which I bought to run my fridge and small items in my kitchen. I also just bought the parallel connector to run two 160w panels into the delta to run my fridge perpetually on the delta. I’m running a few small things exclusively now on my River Units. It’s helping me to understand how they work as well as grasp what they are capable of. I have found that running off solar all day and utilizing the pass through power capacity really runs things for very long periods. Unless we get a rainy or cloudy spell, of course. I always appreciate your careful explanations. Give Brooklyn a pat for me!

    I would like to inform readers from my testing. I have a EC Delta Mini, fully charged. I only plugged in my refrigerator. This is a 2021 Frigidaire Gallery side by side with water and ice dispenser refrigerator, Rated at 380W and 450W defrost. From 100% to 0% the Delta Mini kept it running for a solid 5.5Hrs, possibly up to 6Hrs if you catch it in time from a power loss and hastily plug it back on for no cooling loss. I do have an EC160w Solar Panel that I will test with in a couple days. I hope I can double my off grid time with some help of solar.

    Great test. You could've maximized battery life even further unplugging every 4 hours or so the fridge stays cold and doesn't need to be plugged in continually. It is great to know continual use though. I'm concerned about the many complaints with customer service and 1.6 trust pilot rating.

    I ordered a Prime Day deal yesterday for the River Pro + 110w Solar Panel for$499. I was planning on doing a refrigerator test, too, with it, but I might order the 160w solar panel instead.
    My refrigerator was using 1.52kWh / day, which is too much, so I raised the temperatures a little higher so it can use less energy and hopefully that's enough for the River Pro.
    (LG 28cu ft refrigerator bought this year, so very efficient).

    • @Korruptor711
      @Korruptor711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I increased the temperature on my refrigerator and freezer. power usage went from 1.52kWh / day to 1.17. (from 35F to 37F and -2F to 2F). If I needed to actually run on battery, I'll increase the temperatures to 40F and 4F and that should reduce power even more.

    • @MrKlawUK
      @MrKlawUK ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Korruptor711 thats about 50w continuous so not that different from this video. The benefit of solar is if you can get solar to top up the battery in the morning and power the fridge through to eg 6pm, then the battery only needs to cover 6pm-8am maybe (14 hours) - which for you would be around 700Wh - which the Delta mini should just about handle (but too much for the river)

      11-100v so 11 would be the minimum voltage and 13a would be the max. 800w max solar.

    Thank you so much! You explained exactly what I needed to understand and couldn't 'get' with other 30ish videos I watched. During blackouts I only run the chest freezer instead of the fridge on old gas generator turning it on and off so I wonder how much difference that would make ? Would have been interesting to see how the Delta used in the first video performed. I think it would have charged to 100% much faster (because staring percentage morning would have been much higher) and probably lasted another 6-8 hours.
    I noticed you didn't move the table and panels back on day two like you did on day one, that would of added a little more charge although unlikely significant.

    I watched your review of the Delta 1300 before this review. I think that connecting 2 100 watt panels in series and that pair in parallel with a 200 watt panel may have limited the voltage output of the setup to the output voltage of the 200 watt panel. But, only a voltmeter would have shown this or maybe a solar expert who understands connecting non-like items in parallel. In any case, I think that you were more successful with this setup than with the Delta 1300 setup. I suspect that the 1300 will handle 3 100 watt panels in series with no problem, even though the max input voltage is 65 volts. I will find out in a few days when I get my 1300 and connect it to 6 100 watt panels total.

    Nice realistic use cases for testing. I think the thing with solar is to consider it intermittent. Have backup plans. Eg if the weather isn’t good and you have an extended power cut, you can try taking the battery to someone with power to charge in an hour or two on the AC; or charge using the in-car connector to top up. Can help cover those gaps in extreme cases.

I think to be on the safe side because OCV is higher to go with that. Looks like open circuit voltage with four 200w panels totals 80.92 which is less than the Delta Max's maximum of 100 volt. Because they are in series the amps remains the same at 12.45A which looks to be just shy of the Delta Max's 13 amp max. So it looks like four of those Newpowa 9BB Cell 200W panels in series are perfect for the Ecoflow Delta Max. I will definitely use your links when I purchase. I thank you VERY much for your time.

    You saw about 250 watts out into the battery. Panels flat be conservative giving 3 hours of peak sun. That’s 750 watt hours on a good day. Your fridge conservatively uses 55 watts about 12 hours a day, 50% duty cycle is 660 watt hours. But there are bms and inverter losses of at least 15%. That means about 635 watt hour# of charge . You must be doing slightly better but calculated conservative. To run that off grid you’ll need 500 watts of panels.

      @@TechMadeEzy Sorry, I don't understand. How does setting the unit to not turn off address the issue of the output to the refrigerator dropping below the 115v or 120v AC address the low-voltage issue?

    if we're talking about air conditioners I guess I would have to say at least a 10 days just in case the heat is really hot special like in July and August the hottest months I mean I would say 7 to 10 days on running I will look on my air conditioner and find out how many watts it runs I never even thought about it so give me time to get back with you regarding the wattage but I would definitely say about to 7 Days in the most hottest incline's of June July August and maybe September and thank you for getting back with me so soon not most TH-camrs do that so thank you I'm also looking at the different Power from the many to all three of them to find out which one would be the best I'm also going to talk to some experts on the how about these things since I said we live in apartment. I don't know if they're going to end up putting it on the roof so we're trying to find out whether or not it can be held in a window on good for me. We're just I'm just trying to find myself too bad they don't have like a solar panel pole that could be just stuck in the ground something I was just a pole all angles I don't know

      Air-conditioning takes a ton of power, 10 days? I haven't seen a system that could handle that without spending 10k or more and that might not even work
