This is the most amazing video you have ever posted. Taking a Lean organization to another level demonstrates to everyone that you will never be as good as you can be. There are always yet unknown opportunities. Every company on the Lean journey should periodically have a new set of eyes scrutinize the processes. It is also important to identify objectives that, on the surface, may seem insurmountable. People respond to challenges in the most beautiful ways, especially when they are challenged to help each other in a crisis. Whether it be a crisis that Brian encountered or a challenge to increase throughput, the innovative and creative genie in each of us will respond in ways that exceed our wildest dreams.
Brad and Lynn, Great Job. There is a great explanation running through this of TOC that is timely for my team. Additionally, it speaks to the relationship of TOC and Lean. Thanks for that and best of Luck at Panhandle Doors. Dang they have it going on!
Brad I do think this is certainly one of the most effective videos on lean manufacturing. Many of us are trying to harness the power of TOC and TPS, but having a different perspective can be very effective. The capacity was always there…just like artist Michelangelo sculpting the Masterpiece: David…”The Sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material.” Well done Quantum Lean and well done Panhandle Doors!
That is a great quote from Michelangelo. I'm sure Brad will be including it in future presentations. Of course, that's assuming the audience has heard of Michelangelo. In the world of today, that could be a wrong assumption. 🙂
Awesome tour! Quick question… what was the owner’s basis for targeting a 27% efficiency improvement? Based on outward appearances, it’s hard to believe they were leaving that much on the table 🤷♂️
We have a productivity timer on quantumlean.ca that you can use for multiple purposes. If you would like, I can walk you through it. Lynn@quantumlean.ca
