    Yum! I can't eat ham tho so maybe I can chop up pieces of karaage to substitute... Looks delicious, thanks for the tute!

      Karaage would be a great addition, but you could do it without any meat too as you've got plenty of protein from the eggs.

    Holy molly this tasted so good!!! Probably the best potato salad I’ve ever had?? As an egg lover 2 eggs was not enough for me so I went with 4 medium sized eggs 😅

      😄Good call on the extra egg, I'm an egg lover myself and can totally get behind doubling the eggs. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed this so much!

    Hi Marc love your TH-cam and the bento show on NHK. What camera do you use for those close ups of you cutting ? They look so good!!

      Hi Holly, thanks so much for tuning into Bento Expo and for the kind words! I shoot my videos using 3 cameras, a Sony a7r3, a Sony a7r2, and an iPhone 11 Pro. Most of it is shot on the a7r3, overhead cooking scenes and most slow motion chopping is with the iPhone, and closeups are shot on the on the a7r2.

      You're welcome Judy, I hope you enjoy it! I'm curious what the differences are with Filipino potato salad? It's so interesting how the same dish is made a little differently around the world😄

      @@NoRecipes hi. We are putting pickle relish, carrots, celery stalk, sometimes we add.boiled chicken to have.protein, and the.potato are not.mashed, only boiled cut.in quarters or. Smaller sizes..mayonnaise.

    in Spain we call that dish "Russian salad"

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alex, it's funny that you mention that because Japanese potato salad is believed to have evolved from Olivier Salad (which is the Russian version of potato salad).

    Glad to find this video Marc! It came in timely, as I happen to have a large bag of potatoes that I got from a charity event and have run out of ideas on cooking them! This is a keeper again! 😋

    The “L” in yolk is silent, it’s pronounced like yoke :)

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Shawna, the "L" vocalization in words like yolk and folk varies by region so there is no hard and fast way it's pronounced. You can read more about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L-vocalization#Modern_English

    • @fuzzyx2face
      @fuzzyx2face 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok interesting, I guess what I should say is where I’m from L is silent in words like yolk and salmon, I didn’t know it was pronounced in other places. I’m from Canada by the way

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@fuzzyx2face Good to know. To be honest, I kind of grew up all over the place so I'm not sure where I picked it up from. I pronounce salmon with a silent "l", but vocalize it in folk, yolk, chalk, polk, and caulk....

      Thank you so much for the kind words Daniel! I'm happy to hear you've been finding my videos helpful. There's so much about cooking that's decided by the fact that it's how it's been done forever, and not a lot of people don't stop to question if there isn't a better way. That's something that I try to focus on when I'm developing my recipes.
