I’ve just recently dealt with a woman that gave me an emotional roller coaster. It felt good to be needed. In some cases she made me feel wanted. I opened up to her and she did the same. We relied on each other emotionally. I would drive 1/2 hour to spend time with her and help her with school work, bring her food, let her vent, help her with her car, took her out and etc. But In the end she made me feel like I was only as valuable as a plastic fork. When she needed me I’m essential, when she didn’t I was trash. I ignored all the red flags: talking down on black men, illogical worldview, inconsiderate behavior, lying, vengeful towards her ex boyfriend, shaming, insults, gaslighting, needing to be right, and lack of accountability. But it’s my fault because I allowed this to happen, I accepted her into my life and ignored the warning signs.
