To make the Zaunkönig (wren) electric is a criminal sacrilege! 😮 It was developed in the 1970s bei the members of the Swiss Simprop Team. It was to perform with a 0.048 cox engine. Imagine the Sound when there are 10 Cox in the Air.
Thanks for the inspiration. This model is very much like the german "Zaunkönig" I've built as a teen back in the 80's. After watching your video I ordered a kit to build it again, this time with an electric motor instead of a Cox Babe Bee.
Usually on small planes like this one I like to cover the bottom of the plane white helps with the orientation when it’s up in the sky. As for the heat shrink tube that also works great with electric biplane ailerons. Great info. Now let’s build and extra 300.
I've voted for the other plane but i also like this plane. I find it great that the community can decide a little bit, what videos they wanted to see. Very nice video
It looks like the laser is really far away from the wood. The further the light has to travel the less power it can deliver due to air losses. The head does not look height adjustable so, put something under the balsa. Increasing air movement will decrease burning, which improves cut depth because the energy is not spent on the vaporizing gases and particulates. Balance lower power and multiple passes to combat any remaining burn and lack of depth cut.
Back in the day, when I just had started doing scratch builds, the Zaunkönig was the plane I wanted to get, but just assumed I was going to crash hehe 😆
your videos is really a source of aspiration for RC lovers. i got motivated and design red sesna. its fly well but no wheel installed. will show you the video. the problem only is to make a fine edge on wings.
Zaunkönig for the poor man with mirror shine overlapping foil ..... sorry, ok i know why i am a big fan from old japan paper or silk and shellac laque covering tecnique. But from 10m away or on a 6inch display it looks accuratly and perfect .Sorry for my broken english , im german . And for that i cant hold bach my feelings.
Man it looks great!!! I watched the flight video and wow! That thing looks like it flies nice. Oh btw, where do you get your exactos? I've been looking for some good ones and yours look pretty nice
you could have cut that thicker piece of wood with a harbor freight junk jigsaw, it is probably only going to last for a job or 2 but it is only like 40$ so it ain't too bad. a miter box would probably remove too much wood from the piece and be overkill, also i wouldn't mind seeing a video on your laser cutter
Nice effort and majority is authority, RC hobby is always expensive unless someone come up with cheap ideas for beginners, all those who vouch for it better get laser cutting machine and later get balsa wood and then sit to make(general comments), anyways 👍
"your creation is very original..."Ha Ha Ha...this is a copy of the German "Zaunkönig" from Simprop. It's a shame that this fact is not mentioned, but it has always been easier to adorn yourself with foreign feathers
It will be great fun to watch the next part.

I downloaded plans to build it, it`s on my agenda for next spring (:
so satisfying to watch
That’s awesome! Can’t wait to see it fly
Your videos are so professional.iam very lucky to find this chennal.
From india 🇮🇳❤️
Beautiful work...
Big motor for such a small plane! I think I'd be tempted to down size a bit.
your creation is very original JOY and it is very relaxing to hear your voice in two languages, greetings from Mexico👍✈️🇲🇽
Beautiful model. Nicely designed and suscribed.

dear joy, your way of explanation is nice. love you and your bi plane.respect your hardwork.cheers from salem, india.
Thanks a lot
It's an amazing video
Graet video.. I'm Brazil ...i love RC airplane thanks to teach👏👏👏👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Looks good

Very nice video

Thank you for the advise!
The Zaunkönig from Simprop. My first model in 1979.😃☺️
Back in the day, when I just had started doing scratch builds, the Zaunkönig was the plane I wanted to get, but just assumed I was going to crash hehe 😆
This looks like a deritive from the Simprop Zaunkönig i have build and flown decades ago with a cox 049 on it.
Small plane , big fun....
Yes I think it was modified to be electric.
your videos is really a source of aspiration for RC lovers. i got motivated and design red sesna. its fly well but no wheel installed. will show you the video. the problem only is to make a fine edge on wings.
Awesome
To easily bend balsa wood and make it stay in the shape you want, the best method is to soak in water with amonia.
Page not Found for the Plans - do you have another link that work?
can you share the plan? The download link isn't working!
Good

Can you please tell us What motors did you used to control the elivater and the flaps?
Nice work
Which remote controller u used for that plan
Nice build, even though it is a bit complicated.
Nice build video, Hope the Maiden goes well. Cheers.
Yes, you'll see it today.
Imma use foamboard instead of plywood. Will it still be maneuverable????
Cant wait to see it fly! Ya llevo dos Joytrainer mini... :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Joy good job nice 💪
Thank you! 😃
Where do I buy this plan pls ?
Can you please tell me details about the polythene type material that you have used to cover the wing and fuselage? Thanks
There are several brands, called Monokote, Solarfilm, Oracover, etc.
@@Joyplanes thanks a lot
Can u make a video on the laser cutter
Most of us don't have access to it so building one is a good idea
Sir, the plan is not downloadable can you please help
cute little plane sir,
but can you build it using materials like foam cuz many of us have not grown up to balsa wood, laser cutting
Great build. Do you think the bipe could be built from 3mm foam with plywood reinforcements?
I think it's possible.
Nice video & job well done on your R/C model. How does that little iron thing work at putting on the skin???
I still have the original Simprop Wren (Zaunkoenig)kit
😍🥰😘
We want a video how to make the laser
Sir i have question, which type of foam board is suitable for aeromodelling: pvc foamboard, kd foam board or white paper foam board?
There are many foams that can be used, but depending on the type requires a different technique. I like foam board.
@@Joyplanes thank you sir for the answer
What motor did you used to it? :) Can i get exact parameters? :)
It was a 2204 on the plans, which is pretty huge since the plane weighs 225g.
Man it looks great!!! I watched the flight video and wow! That thing looks like it flies nice. Oh btw, where do you get your exactos? I've been looking for some good ones and yours look pretty nice

wat lazer cutter do you use
Nicee

Next time use windex to bend the wood.
what size motor did you mount?
It's a 2205 2300KV
Don't forget to tell us how much it cost (materials) approximately.
Well I think it is about $50 in total but just an estimation.
Are the plans free?
Yes, look at the description, just create an account in Joyplanes or simply join the discord community and you'll have the plans there too.
Hola joy primero
Ya lo subiste a tu otra cuenta el video
el segundo
How much rs
I also built a biplane but it never flew
Este video me refiero
Your links have malware
ALL have a wife not me .
i wonder if it would be "supporting neo nazis" if he made a fokker eindecer triplane from ww1
😂

I never said this was my creation... maybe you need to start reading the descriptions of the videos you watch.
please bother to calibrate
Tooo bad thumble !
How were the votes tallied? I believe there may have been voter fraud here! He sounds Venezuelan to me! 😜🤣
Another great build mate. 😊
Hahahaha I'm Venezuelan, but the votes are publicly available for everyone to see hahaha. Cheers.
@@Joyplanes Ah at least we can still enjoy some humour in these lunatic times mate. 😊 👍
