I love the bits which I imagine Goldie thought wouldn't be shown, where she hints that she's done enough for her money, very funny & revealing!
I remember that this was in soft focus at the time, also the colour was slightly saturated, I imagine all requested by Ms Hawn's team, to give her a healthy, soft focus glow - unfortunately all these years later, on an old VHS, it just looks blurry!

I'm glad Goldie talked about this incident and I can't believe someone here is criticising her for talking about it.I think they where both trying to find humour in a situation they both know happens all the time and impacts most women at some point in their lives.

Thanks for uploading! This is especially interesting as the next year Goldie Hawn with her friend Teri took Ruby Wax and Jennifer Saunders to India so they could gain inspiration and write her a film.
What's even more interesting is that, according to Jennifer Saunders, Goldie lost her temper with her because Jennifer is bad at procrastinating and didn't have the script ready or something, and Goldie just ended up not working with them. I'm impressed that Jenn admits that it was her own fault. She says she talks about it in her memoir, and asked Goldie if she could include the story, and Goldie's response was "Go ahead. It's you who's the butt of the joke in it."

The comment that her three-year-old made about choosing her as a mother and God told him to makes sense to me now because I've read a story where a young boy told his mom that God let him choose which family he wanted to be born into next. It's a whole new way of thinking about reincarnation isn't it? Christians say that if you believe in God you can't believe in reincarnation but that story makes it all possible which makes me very happy. I think that once we get older and lose our innocence we can't remember things like that though because we close our minds to what we consider to be the impossible.
Also I love Ruby, she's irreverent and hilarious and Goldie is terrific. I've loved her since the laugh in.
It was clear Goldie was going to be a good sport, but I was surprised "Chuckie" actually seemed to kind of get it. Well... kind of. Enough for it to be interesting.

Are you 'disconnected from reality'. Are you saying she has a psychological disorder from being rich? She can read newspapers and watch tv and see what's going on. She didn't grow up rich. That is her reality. One can be rich and grounded.

Goldie is now in her upper 70s and too much face surgery, she should just have grown old gracefully csuse the sides of her neck and face don’t match the front, it looks just wired but I love her wigs
The one strange thing is that even in the UK, I don't think the term "Chinaman" was acceptable by the time this aired. :-) Of course these days, post-Brexit vote, I suppose it's probably back in vogue, but even as a joke I'm surprised Ruby used it during that period.
It might not have been the coolest thing to say even then, the difference is that the left hadn't gone totally Social Justice Warrior bat-shit crazy yet and weren't trying to police the way people spoke to the point that comedians, such as Rube, were frightened to open their mouths!!

It was a comedy sketch set up to look like an interview, if you watch right at the the end of the show, you see him coming out of the lift & them thanking him!
Could be, but I'm not so sure, cause Ruby seems to bee shameless in her pursuit of making sure her shows are unrehearsed and totally candid.
It's a total laugh to him. You can tell at the end when he wrote in her book.
