- Introducing 'Proof of Concept', a new film about Outdoor Research Ambassador and pro climber, Sean Bailey. Up against the toughest route he'd ever attempted, Sean pushed himself to new limits and completes the third ascent of Bibliographie, 5.15c. This film dives into Sean's career as a pro climber, and how he uses both success and failure to fuel his climbing and push himself to new limits.
Film by Ben Neilson
Fantastic! On another level... best footage of bibliography so far. Shows how next level these routes are if it took him a couple sessions for v16 and then 25 days for bibliography... even trying Sharma Rastaman vibrations project at the end.
Even the footage of Stefano are nice, but yeah great film right here👍👍
Dude hit the j before hopping on bibliography LMAO
What a legend
was about to comment on this lmao
Loved that.
What minute does that happen? lol

The fact that occured in the sponsor's video makes me want to buy their product even more.
Absolute masterpiece. At no point did this feel slow or off beat which I don't think I can say about literally any other climbing film. Also that ending clip foreshadowing on rastaman... HOLY FUK. My mind is totally blown, thank you Ben Neilson for creating this and I hope to create something half as inspiring as this one day!!
Sean Bailey is so underrated by many, but he's one of my favourites climbers and a truly inspiration. I'm very glad that this short documentary came, because Sean really deserves it. Thank you guys and thank you very much Sean that you took us on this journey with you.
Straight up superstar 💪🤙🙏
He's got years to come as well....bow down peeps
I'm a huge Sean Bailey fan! He is rock climbing's Allen Iverson. He oozes style. Glad he is getting his respects. Great video!
I'm just impressed by how the video puts everything together... Top 10 climbing videos without any doubt! Awesome!
Absolutely amazing story telling. Best climbing film this year!
Instant classic. And Nathaniel's 80's Uncle Joey sweatshirt is epic.
gave me goosebumps
damn. this is way more hype than the reel rock. Sean is the goat. Realest climbing vid ive seen in a minute. crazy
Ben you absolute maestro. This is, without doubt, top 3 climbing films material. Incredible sense of pacing and substance. Im looking forward to your next work!
Another Ben Neilson gem. I remember meeting Ben in 2014/2015 when he was film making for the Western Washington guidebook. He told me about how Jimmy Chin was one of his inspirations and it's amazing that Ben has continued to refine his craft. Can't wait to see what the future has in store for him.
My new favorite climbing video. What an incredible display of my all time favorite climber. Bout time he got the recognition he deserves. Take all accomplishments aside, and all voiceover on this entire video, and you'll still be amazed at his climbing. He truly has the most balanced flow and style on the wall of anyone I've ever seen.
I used to compete against Sean as a teenager in the youth climbing competitions. He was on another level back then, but never realized he would get to these amazing routes. Keep crushing!!
It's such a weird combination of demoralising and inspiring to compete against a world class athlete as a kid
This is a work of art! Thanks to all the team that made this film. Sean really raised the standard!
One of the best climbing films I've seen! Long awaited and super sick!
Wow. 30 Minutes of straight fire. Sean is the man.
Great, Great, Great film. So so good.
Whoa! holy shit Ben. Incredible job telling Sean's story. Really loved this film... what a tick list. Bravo Sean!
Maybe one of the most chilling transitions was when they showed salt lake (bass bump'n) while listing the insane 10 year prereq's
Reel Rock should take some notes
Totally agree.
The Fortress was an amazing film in a similar way, unfortunately put into the Showcase rather than the feature. I honestly preferred it to The CUDL.
Sean is my favorite guy in the game. It's so refreshing to see someone roll up to comps in Carhart's and long hair. It makes me stay in love with sport, knowing that my people can still rule the front lines. Can't wait to see what you do in the coming years, bud.
His one of the climbers I look up to. So much passion, always keen on learning. Huuuge respect!
one of the best climbing videos i've seen in a while
Amazing! Been anticipating this video for months and it did not dissapoint!
Sean == GOAT
Ben == GOAT
this is one of the greatest climbing films I've ever watched
^^^
good soundtrack good buildup. Was nice to see three aspects of climbing indoor, lead and bouldering outdoors. Seems like a nice enough lad. Great video great send at the end. World class climb.
The ending summed it up for me. About finding the mentality of when you were succeeding.
Nuh uhh
Agreed!!
Wonderful film. It was exciting last year seeing everything he accomplished. So great to see it in a package.
And nice to see a surprise cameo from Miho Nonaka!
The scene at 9:10 ish right?
They are or were dating
The goat!!! Such a great documentary they went absolute god mode making this!!!
Really enjoyed that, thank you.
better filmmaking than almost all the reel rocks this year
Wow. Just wow. Ben Nielsen has my respect!!!
What an astounding documentary! Congrats on the accomplishments!
So sick, the video itself and Sean Bailey. Truly amazing.
Amazing thing to watch! Just got fired up!!!🔥
this is such a great look into the actual process of climbing at your limit
Steezus is my shepherd I shall not want
Steezus Christ has risen. Thy will be done.
congrats on some great climbing Sean! Beautiful film.
Hell yeah, Sean! What a year.
Finally climbing looks like fun again :-). Love the footage!
The best climbing film. So much inspiration. So fucking cool Sean
22:45 that's the spirit
This is the best movie ever made.
amazing year & video Sean!
Fascinating. It's also amazing to have the opportunity to watch it all. Thank you!
Amazing. Such insight into process and exceptional contributions. Love Nate Coleman’s take on the modern comp circuit requirement, and what it takes to win a gold medal.
It feels as though there are so many climbers that unfairly missed out on Tokyo - a flawed system with 3 disciplines. We will no doubt see him in Paris ‘24 💪
Oof...
Holy smokes, that was inspiring.
I became a fan today! Such great content!
this totally should’ve been on RR this year
Funny how Bibliography looks like a completely different route every time we see someone climb it.
Great ! Enjoy this Film !!
Great video¡
That was awesome!!!!!
Absolutely inspiring
Great film !!!
so inspiring!!!
Great video! :)
It ain't easy being Steezy.
That run out at the end. Damn! I know it’s a big wall but sheesh haha
A+ film 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Epic stuff
Epic!!!
If Nonaka Miho and Sean Bailey are dating, that would be a pretty insane climbing power coupled.
They are. 💯
Miho is everywhere haha
Nice man!
super, outdoor researh 👏👏
signifacntly better than this years Reel Rock
This is crazy
Proof Of Work
I met this dude. He's a Ledge.
Steezy just fuckin killing it!
legend @22:44
🙏🙏🙏
How tall is he ?
this goes kinda hard
Can you share the soundtrack?
31:30 at the end
What an extraordinary fucki… climbing film
Mega rigs.
Put "initially proposed 9c/5.15d by Alex Megos but graded 9b+ by Stephano Ghisolfi" in the description, and put "(Bibliography 9b+/5.15c)" in the title and you'll get another 100k views in a couple months. The higher grades are better for SEO and Stefano is making noise with Silence right now so that will help. On my other TH-cam channel i did a total troll video with V17 in the title and i got 76k views with double digit subscribers.
He's too steeeeezzzyyyy
:A:M:A:Z:I:N:G:
i mean, he is light, but he climbs like he literally weighs nothing
mind is you real enemy
goated
Mega movie
22:44
ya boi climbing 9c high
yeah there are levels to this shit welcome
Weed may or may not be illegal in France
22:45
he deserves it defenetly, but is it what he wants?Another intent to put a great climber into a box?But great pictuars anyway!
🫶🏻
I'll start by saying that this film is an incredible record of Sean's immense talent and work ethic. But I have to disagree in the narration's point that we should potentially be idolizing self-hatred (6:40). That individual decision marred for me what could have been one of the most inspiring films in climbing, and it really was a shame to hear.
Surely some people will see it differently, but I think it's worth considering by the filmmakers.
no
@@danielanderson5806 I agree
why, WHY is there a cut on 30:12 this was one of the worst decisions from the editor :(
I dunno if you can call a "flash/onset" if you study the hell out of the route. It's kinda cheating
Americans…
...are the best story tellers.
What do you mean "Why am I doing this?" Because it's fun, simple as that. Some of the things climbers say are soo cringey.
and then he has a shitty comp year after this comes out. probably the hype
Clickbait af lol, with all the crytpo news nowadays lol
Crazy he dug up his old climbing coach from his youth, Tyson, for just a few words. Amazing dedication
So good. Great shots, climbing and storytelling. Well done by Sean, Ben and the rest of the team.
