      Kevin Bacon quote about Tremors
“I was broke, I had a kid on the way, and my mom had gotten sick, and I felt like I didn’t have a choice. I was like ‘Jesus, this is a movie about underground monsters, how far I’ve fallen.”
“It was one film of mine that I wanted to revisit that character. I don’t look back at all,” Bacon told the magazine of (mostly) looking forward concerning his illustrious career. Just as interesting, if not more so, Bacon noted that Tremors is the only film of his he has ever rewatched since its premiere.

It's literally taken seriously from the beginning to end. The reason why this script, acting and directing are top notch is because it represents a reality based attempt at an unlikely sci-fi event. It's called lightning in a bottle.

    *"TREMORS 2: Aftershocks"*
was meant to be a theatrical film as
well as originally set in Australia,
but due to Kevin Bacon being busy with *"Apollo 13"* and Reba McEntire being busy in her music career, Universal gave the first sequel a much lower budget and release it direct-to-video; even after the filmmakers tried to convince the studio to release it theatrically after a positive test screening.

I remember seeing Tremors in the theater when it came out in early 1990, and I enjoyed watching it. As I was watching the beginning of this video, I had correctly guessed that there must’ve been at least a half dozen direct to video sequels, which I didn’t know about and hadn’t seen, and I was correct. In some ways the first film has a similar vibe as Starship Troopers, which also has a number of direct to video sequels. I can see why Michael Gross would want to dive right in and play a gun toting survivalist in a movie right after Family Ties was over so that he could play against type and remove any risk of being typecast in a role he’d played on TV for 7 years. Also, his character got a survivalist’s wish of defeating an intruder that comes crashing through the cinder block walls of his basement and he’s beyond loaded for bear, and ready to overkill it with plenty of ammunition.

Most of my dreams are still plagued by graboids, but due to knowing how they work it's more like working around any other wild animal. It moves through town? Stop walking. You fall on the ground? Play dead, they think they just knocked barrel or something over. They are more like an obstacle in those dreams than an actual danger due to knowledge

Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward make this movie. It could of been such a lame B-movie horror but they add a playful seriousness to it that elevates it above other B-movie horrors.

love this film. not a second wasted in it and it just played flawlessly . effects are spot on and believable to this day. the plot was actually brilliant as well. it had consequences to the decisions made by characters, like when they refuse to fix the fridge and it goes berserk later in the movie resulting in Walters death. essentially its jaws in the desert with a monster twist but the film starts and never stops and goes at a steady pace.

    Fun Fact:
    While working on *"TREMORS 2",*
Brent Maddock & S.S. Wilson pitched plans for a potential TV Series in 1993 that was sadly never made.
    It was called
*"TREMORS: Lost Monsters"* and it would've starred Val, Earl & Burt as
they encounter on & off throughout
the series: an albino graboid (which became the inspiration for fan-favorite El Blanco in *"TREMORS 3"* & the
2003 TV series), but they would also encounter strange, new monsters including a tree-dwelling octopus, a mountain-man vampire, an intelligent bigfoot disguising itself as a ghost, a giant killer shrimp (also seen in the 2003 TV Series), a flying monstrosity, and military toaster-shaped robots
that wandered off from Area-51 (yep, that was to be a thing!)

Tremors was the very first film i had seen in the theatre in the year 1990 or i can also say the first film of the 1990's. The last film i saw in 1989 in theatres was Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.

I have always been a hardcore Tremors fan. I watched the TV show when it aired and hated it's cancellation. Like many fans, I feel the franchise took a big downturn after the TV show and the 4th film. The 5th was just okay, six and seven are bad, I mean they are just difficult to watch. I would love to see Kevin come back, but only if it still exists in the same universe as the rest of the movies and show. I don't think many fans would want a full reboot like they talked about doing.

When I was a kid I was biking down a trail by a long lake a came across a big dead creature I couldn't identify. It was coming out of the ground and was part split open exposing orange flesh underneath. It also smelled pretty weird. It really looked like a baby Graboid. Wish I had a camera on me, I Google it once and a while but still have no clue what it was. Not the only weird thing I've seen in Florida.

Burt Gummer was made to be laughed at for being a conspiracy theorist and survival nut. If you have been paying attention to our current situation, he was the sane one.

Perfect movie? Maybe? It's been many many years since I've seen it. I have forgotten most of it. What I remember most is that it's a whole lot of fun. Gross' performance was a big and thoroughly enjoyable surprise.
