Just got a quest 2 and although the graphics are like going back to the NES and Super NES, the immersion is out of this world. Entirely different experience from anything on a monitor. Polygons in VR > photorealism on a monitor. It’s not even close.

Yeah so long as audio and mechanics are done right, graphical fidelity can be ass in VR and it'll be more immersive than anything on flat screen.

I agree, VR does add a lot by just being... VR. That said, something like Half-Life: Alyx shows us the future - what realistic graphics *and* VR can do when combined. It's really something else entirely.

Watching the cartoony police officer pull out a pair of zip cuffs and walk up to a suspect whose arm was had been blown off made me laugh a lot harder than I'd have expected. That blank expressionless stare on her face was *exactly* what I'd expect the player to look like the first time she tried to handcuff someone who only had one hand.
There's a game called Breach It on Steam that's like... Less than a dollar if I remember, and while it's not great, it could've been. It has some really cool destruction in it, it was like Siege in VR. Sadly it's abandoned but I would've loved to see it go further. You could smash open walls and barricaded doors with hammers, shoot holes in walls, etc. I believe you had to hit the reinforcements into the doors with a hammer as well, and you could barricade the walls with metal like in Siege.

Hey Pairs, regarding door manipulation, have you seen H3VR's recent devlog about implementing doors? I thought it was one of the more involved door implementations in VR that I've ever seen. There's no SWAT-like gamemode (that I'm aware of) or even multiplayer, so it's probably not something that you'd be super into, but I'm hoping that it at least sets the bar for VR doors for other titles in the future.

When I look at this game, then all I see is that it could use just better animations, the graphic style is imho great, and although simplistic, it is simplicity that allows you to tweak and change aspects of your project fast and effectively - this game just could use a bit more details, but still in the same style.
we need something like Due Process in VR, having the people defending be actual players and not scuffed ai makes things way more unpredictable and fun!

Not a fan of the graphics but love tactical shooters. Seems like tactical shooters are making a huge comeback, unfortunately none of them have the funding of big companies but still happy to see a lot of these types of games.
The problem with advanced tactical shooter games that teach people the basics or more of how to properly raid places like a SWAT member is that people can use that against real SWAT members and position hostages and themselves + cover in certain areas to give them more advantage in an advanced fire-fight. This can lead to a spike in deaths in the field as more criminals have information they can use maliciously. Of course though it wouldn't be an average gangster because why would they need ransom if they can afford to practice like this.

"Ready or Not" looks great for 2021.
You should check out Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield if you haven't already, the game has almost everything you've described as an important tactical game feature, but it was made in 2003.
I highly recommend it, it's a fantastic tactical shooter that still holds up today.

I feel like with certain modding capabilities swat teams could use this to recreate a situation (building layout, amount of suspects) which could prepare a certain team for a situation while on call or while the situation is being negotiated

Nice gameplay and explanation of the game. I'd never heard of it. Hopefully it has improved somewhat 8 months later. Big fan of the tactical genre of games and VR also. Tales of Glory 2 is a great stealth PC VR game, but needs more tactical elements. This looks good with the Co Op cross platform also. Nice work. Gave you a sub.

A thing that a lot of people forget about, if you want a really realistic tactical game like this, just get into airsoft. Thats about as realistic as its going to get, they have big milsim events and shit you can do
Lot of potential, especially with the simple graphics, makes it accessible to lower end equipment users
It'd be amazing if they could incorporate some of the things from say, SWAT 2, where you have to potentially interact with the "terrorists" or bad guys prior to engagement, maybe one person is the negotiator who has to maybe have some people released or something before hand. Maybe give them certain concessions to buy time
Or there is a "flip" side where you play as terrorists and have to achieve certain tasks in a certain time frame, or there's a campaign where you can have characters level up and become decorated veterans or gain special bonuses that help the team overall.
Or even a versus game mode, where each team has certain objectives (some that may or may not overlap), and if one team completes more objective points, that team wins -- ie terrorists maybe have to "convert" a certain number of hostages to join up as recruits, or have to extract a certain amount to be ransomed off. Maybe have some sort over over-arching global "team/cell" mechanics where one can build out a team and level them up/send them on missions XCOM style.
As for the graphics -- I'm actually OK with mediocre graphics to a point, but that has to come with a HUGE bonus to gameplay. and I think VR is one of the places where I'm more willing to accept gameplay advancements, as its such a limited market. Think about all the nostalgic games from the 90's and early 00's that had absolute shit graphics, but amazeballs fucking gameplay... Yea, we need that in VR.
Honestly the graphics don’t bother me too much, it reminds me of due process a little bit with the arcade looking graphic quality. I feel like the gore also adds something special to the game, RS2: Vietnam represents this well where someone’s head comes off and it makes you stop as it would in real life. Really enjoyed the video keep it up!

THIS GAME LOOKS SICK but I have some requests:
1. Make it accessible to quest 2 aka get it on the App Store it’s pretty simple to do
2. Cheaper. Yes it looks fun but for a still pretty janky. Making it more affordable opens up a lot more customers

i saw this game a good while ago and was quite interested because of the vr and desktop cross play. i was put off by the high price though given i got onward for £8 and pav for £6. not that im saying its not worth it but was waiting on the game to mature a bit before dropping the money on it.

If a game runs smooth then the graphic can be simple. My favorite example of this is Battleground Europe, a 20 year old game that is still well populated to this day. It remains one of the best flight simulators there is, it is MM, open world single map of most of Europe, and it runs like a champ. The graphic have nothing to do with why anyone ever played it. But like this game it simply has almost everything you ever wanted from your grand massive multiplayer WW2 simulator.
I really want to try to make a gore vr shooter where actually shooting and wounding someone could hit you emotionally (like, they would scream for help or just cry until they die) and where you can use ur mic to tell them to get down and stuff like that. You know, VoiceActions
