... more than fantastic I'd add, she's a GODDESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a gem of girl... and what a true performer and great singer (the best one out of them, hands down). Ciao dal Piemonte... Franco.
Originally that was the concept for the third album (grupal, duets and solo songs) but was scrapped after Geri left :(( A live album of the 1998 tour was planned too but cancelled for the same reasons

best voices of the band, I wish they released a rockish song together these days too! Mel C sang with Emma, so why not? They're the most energetic on stage too, it would be so fun.
... 2:42, guitarist Paul Gendler. This very skilled musician will be GODDESS Mel C's lead guitar in Mel's own band through most of her solo career, from summer 1999 to autumn 2016. Seventeen years !!!, what an adventure must have been... :-) :-)
this song was another step for the spice's and "GIRLPOWER" and one towards changing their sound and style, shortly after this recording while still on the European leg of the SPICEWORLD TOUR geri did a bunk
They need to record this and release it 😍 would do so well these days! I am however ashamed to say that I chose this song to go to the loo during the Spiceworld Tour concert I went to back in 1998 😂 On the plus side, I did get to walk by the stage on the way out, where they were literally standing above me singing this 😍😍
Now there was a time when they used to say That behind every great man There had to be a great woman But in these times of change You know that it's no longer true So we're comin' out of the kitchen Cos there's somethin' we forgot to say to you We say Sisters are doin' it for themselves Standin' on their own two feet And ringin' on their own bells Sisters are doin' it for themselves Now this is a song to celebrate The conscious liberation of the female state Mothers, daughters and their daughters too Woman to woman We're singin' with you The "inferior sex" has got a new exterior We got doctors, lawyers, politicians too Everybody take a look around Can you see, can you see, can you see There's a woman right next to you Sisters are doin' it for themselves Standin' on their own two feet And ringin' on their own bells Sisters are doin' it for themselves Oh we ain't makin' stories No, we ain't makin' plans Don't ya know that a man still loves a woman And a woman still loves a man Now there was a time (there was a time) When we used to say (when we used to say) That behind every great man There has to be a great woman Well in these times of change You know that it is no longer true So we're comin' out of the kitchen Cos there's somethin' we forgot to say to you And that's Sisters are doin' it for themselves Standin' on their own two feet And ringin' on their own bells Sisters are doin' it for themselves Sisters are doin' it for themselves (Doin it, doin it, do-doin' it, doin' it) Sisters are doin' it for themselves (All of my sisters, all of my sisters) Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Mel B had a great voice then but now due to her smoking it sounds bad. She used to have a great growl and her low notes in the SG songs were nice but now it really sounds strained. Melanie C has always been great. Sporty Spice forever!
I LOVE this. But, at the end of the original song, Aretha shouted: Equal pay, hear what we say!" That was a serious concept to introduce back then. Since it's still not true- the gender pay gap still exists- I was disappointed that they didn't include that in this rmix.
Great song but unfortunately for mine, this ain't a Mel C song, her wayward vocals doesn't suit this... Mel B however, did much better with a smooth intro.... some may differ as most comments here suggest, but if you're into purity & not just listening as a fan of MC & MB, I'm sure you'd be swayed my way.... no hate here folks, just straight up
These two should sing together again-just the two of them!
VERY TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mel b sounds AMAZING!
No one is talkin about Mel B's growl🤩🤩
Mel c is fantastic I love this girl ❤️🤘🤘🤘!!!

Ciao dal Piemonte... Franco.
Mel B is actually singing rock amazing😍 and like always look amazing💥💥
The best live vocal from those 2 :)
almost agreed to this but I still prefer their duet part of Vivia Forever
Mel B and Mel B had the strongest voices
I wish they had recorded this, it would have been a fantastic female duet, they both sounded awesome. Mel C in particular nailed it.
Originally that was the concept for the third album (grupal, duets and solo songs) but was scrapped after Geri left :(( A live album of the 1998 tour was planned too but cancelled for the same reasons
XTIN0 it’s on the Goodbye CD single I hope you will reply to this

Mel B can hit a high and low note.
She can growl too

i think them and emma were the best vocalists!
Melanie Chisolm looks amazing
Always
You can tell when Mel C was singing Aretha’s parts because she kept putting more power and vocals into it
The Spice Girls' finest hour.

As duas melhores cantoras das Spice.
They are great! love it!
Great perfomance!!! So much Girl Power!!! 💪💪💪
Just superb
BRILLIANT!

Mel C total queen
SO COOL :D
Great performance. Never saw this.
They did that
❤
When they began to be credible in their SW era. It would had had been amazing to have a third album with Geri on those terms.
the two rowdy northerners (in a positive way)! this was the perfect song for them!!
EURYTHMICS brought me here
This has to be the greatest male simp crowd there ever was...
2:03 !!
Now there was a time when they used to say
That behind every great man
There had to be a great woman
But in these times of change
You know that it's no longer true
So we're comin' out of the kitchen
Cos there's somethin' we forgot to say to you
We say
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Standin' on their own two feet
And ringin' on their own bells
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Now this is a song to celebrate
The conscious liberation of the female state
Mothers, daughters and their daughters too
Woman to woman
We're singin' with you
The "inferior sex" has got a new exterior
We got doctors, lawyers, politicians too
Everybody take a look around
Can you see, can you see, can you see
There's a woman right next to you
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Standin' on their own two feet
And ringin' on their own bells
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Oh we ain't makin' stories
No, we ain't makin' plans
Don't ya know that a man still loves a woman
And a woman still loves a man
Now there was a time (there was a time)
When we used to say (when we used to say)
That behind every great man
There has to be a great woman
Well in these times of change
You know that it is no longer true
So we're comin' out of the kitchen
Cos there's somethin' we forgot to say to you
And that's
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Standin' on their own two feet
And ringin' on their own bells
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
(Doin it, doin it, do-doin' it, doin' it)
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
(All of my sisters, all of my sisters)
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
ok
well yeah but they were the best in between the group
i'd say
I should be considered a sister!

Mel C was the best vocalist in that group, and she is just all right!
@Likedbymany Correct. For two points.
Not an original song, but a proper song for them
*Mel C

Emma Bunton and Mel C spices sister and Mel C treat Emma like a little sister.
Hahaha
are you gonna tell me that victoria was a good vocalist?

I respect your opinion But Mel C's voice does lend itself to rock.
Licking out each other for money 💸💰 for themselves.
Melanie did it with Emma, so who knows?
Nocturne22 which melanie
@@samiapendergrass6237 Melanie C, I belive.
