The new one sounds better: smoother, better depth, more organic, more musical, more vibrant for sure. The original is clear but bright, could easily lead to ear fatigue. I don’t really need either speaker but now I have to get two of the new ones.
Yes, Bill. I welcome you once again! In the stereo pair, the Everse 8 and Bose S1 Pro+ sound good, as if from the same manufacturer. The Bose is also mounted on a stand. The video turned out only in jerks, I did not notice how the smartphone camera switched to 720P mode without image stabilization th-cam.com/video/X2xfYOhpKpI/w-d-xo.html
One positive/one negative of new Plus model. On the positive, they changed the line out to XLR. XLR to XLR is a more secure connection and a much more common cable to be found vs, the 1/4" TRS to XLR I was using before. On the negative side, in bright sunlight it is VERY hard to see the LCD screen, with physical knobs of S1 Pro this is never an issue. Sometimes Old School is better!
At this time I feel the S1 Pro Plus is the overall Best Portable PA speaker available! I say overall because if you are willing to spend the extra $150 and slightly larger form factor and heavier weight, I think the EV Everse 8 is actually #1

Have a good time! If you listen to it with full-size headphones, which one sounds more interesting at the factory settings? Bose S1 Pro Plus vs Everse 8 - Sound comparison (factory settings) th-cam.com/video/kzvZKVW9Bw4/w-d-xo.html
Everse 8 is great! viewer comment: Compared to Everse 8, Bose S1Pro Plus does not sound as loud, but with higher fidelity in reproducing small nuances. Bose is more accurate and musical. Everse is more assertive, punchy and creates more rumble. Moreover, the difference in sound accuracy is also noticeable at low volumes for the room. All this is a pure comparison without tones and equalizers. Due to their presence in Everse 8 (two 7-band graphic and parametric), it wins. Suitable for any working conditions in any room or outdoors. If you wish and know how to use equalizers, you can customize any sound to suit your taste. Bose has no equalizers, just regular bass/treble tone. But out of the box at normal volume it sounds more pleasant to the ear (at least for my personal one), more natural than Everse 8.
I still have the 2 S1Pro speakers in stereo with the Sub 1 and have no plans to change Bill. all the bass I need for the space I'm in with plenty more in reserve if I need it. thanks Bill 👍
Hi Bill, a friend is asking me which version is better? And how much louder it sounds. You know, I only have the plus version. Personally, it seemed to me that the left speaker sounded a little louder when you smoothly moved the camera from one side to the other several times in the last test. I'm listening through JBL Tune 510 BT headphones with a more or less normal frequency response
Wow! That's a great comparison. It does have a little more bass. I love my S1pros and i have no plans on getting rid of mine. I'm like you i use them with a sub anyway. LOL. As far as the Everse 8 i like it pretty good but i still feel it needs the sub too . But the Everse over the ELX200 - 12 is a pretty nice setup. That being said my favorite is the original Bose S1pro ove a Sub1. You just can't beat it when you put the sub in the L1 mod and let the S1pro cover the highs. LOL just my option.
I love having options. I am seriously thinking about getting another ELX200 12sp and Everse 8 for a stereo pair. The question why keep them both? I really like both setups. They both sound amazing but the Bose is a little smaller setup and the EV is a little louder setup maybe. I'm going to compare the two setups outside because I have only played them side by side inside. Plus I guess I am a speaker hoarder 😅 oh and I have a feeling I might pick the Everse over the Bose is with no sub and we will see but mabe outside.

Glad I helped with your Everse 8 purchase! How much louder and better bass response is the Everse 12 in comparison? I don't have the KS112. I have the previous model, dual 12" KSub and it is incredible! At $2,000, 88 lbs and 132 dB the QSC KS112 is in the next level from the EV 12sp sub. Have you considered the Bose Sub2, which is a step up from the EV 12sp? EV also makes the ELX 200-18 64lbs, also 132dB! I love the App on the EV subs. A lot of great choices! If you need more advice, let me know your application and max price range.
Everse 12 has slightly more bass than 8 and its louder than 8 again not much difference I could discern from home enviroment. I think for the benefits of the EV app and ease I will go with EV elx200-12sp.

Greetings to you! Today, in my free time, I decided to once again arrange a musical battle between Everse 8 and Bose S1 Pro Plus lasting just over 5 minutes "Everse 8 Music Test against Bose S1 Pro Plus". th-cam.com/video/gT2kKcy8pY4/w-d-xo.html I have specially edited the audio fragments from each speaker, one by one. I like the way they sound. Both of them are different, but they give good quality in their own way. Of course, the sound in the recording makes it easier to perceive what you hear live. I'm shooting on a regular smartphone. There are no funds for the purchase of special recording equipment yet.
I also compared the S1pro plus with the other speaker I have , Marshall Woburn 2( not 3), I’m very pleased with sound quality and yes the bass is phenomenal.
The plus sounds a bit muffled to me. I'm keeping my s1 pro. I like the control knobs and the blue power light and not a fan of app stuff. I'm listening through Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones. Then again I only use it as a monitor with my F1's and F1sub. It may work for some street musicians and short gigs. 4 hrs with wireless mic and guitar so don't forget to turn it off on breaks and don't forget to pack guitar and mic cable...Where's that blue power light as a reminder? Oh almost 900 with the mic and guitar options...Cringe!
Plus has more bass, that's probably why it sounds muffled. As a monitor for your application you will never hear the difference. Stick with your S1Pro.
Speakerranking.com Negatives: With full range music, S1Pro becomes distorted above ⅔ volume. Better suited for voice amplification. Not as much deep bass as the Everse 8, midrange sounds reasonably balanced. Treble is pretty boosted. Not stereo. Designed for more loudness than deeper bass.
The new one sounds better: smoother, better depth, more organic, more musical, more vibrant for sure. The original is clear but bright, could easily lead to ear fatigue. I don’t really need either speaker but now I have to get two of the new ones.
