Never let a neighborhood dictate what you can build on your property..thats up to the city if they want that property tax money or not. Otherwise turn it into a homeless shelter.
Weird that the one woman had a problem with luxury apartments and whether or not a buyer would be willing to pay it. That's not really her concern. I understand if it was low income housing or something that might down turn the area, but I don't understand why anyone would be worried it might be "too nice"
It's really a fine balance. Because $2,500 could pay for a mortgage payment for property owned land of a house not someone else's townhouse or apartment complex.
@@ANTAGONIST1776 Not everyone wants to buy a house and assume a mortgage. It is not up to some nearby residents to stick their noses into someone else’s business as to why they want to rent and not own.
Here's a good idea donate the property to me I'll have everything torn down and restored Back To Nature plant some beautiful trees pine trees have a beautiful nature trail so the people that live in Livonia have a beautiful place to relax don't need to always build build more shit an over congest the city👍🇺🇸 and God bless America vote for me😎
Whaaaaaaaaat are these people smoking?!? This is LIVONIA, NOT Beverly Hills. They should be incredibly grateful that ANYone is building ANYthing there as long as it's not a toxic waste ware house or dump! There's a reason the site's been vacant and rotting!!! Beggars can't be choosers.
MEIJER IS IMPORTANT FOR FAMILIES ADDITIONAL BUSINESSES GARDNER WHITE FURNITURE STORE BEST BUY HOME DEPOT CHASE BANK AND A AUTOMATIC CAR WASH WITH TOWNHOUSES
Out of all the options they have which might be limited thats the best they come up with ... 👎 ... Get something new to the area like a Lowes, Best Buy, @ Home or even bring a new business into the state like Sheetz, WaWa, Publix and Casey's etc. would be nice. Meijer had a chance to out bid Walmart back in the day over at 7 mile & Middlebelt.
@@ANTAGONIST1776 u don't know me. Who said there were no jobs in the city? Who told you that? People in Detroit can work in the city and outside of it. Why should people in Detroit have businesses that are bad for their communities, why should they settle for that?

It don't know about horrible. I used to work near there years ago and most areas aren't what they used to be. I went back recently to pick up something I found on market place a few months ago. The neighborhood I was in was middle class, but the subdivision looked nice with well-maintained homes overall.
Eventually renting a single room out of a mobile home will cost $1,500 per month
I agree with that last comment, buy it yourself and build whatever you want
I also agree for the most part, but at the same time that's exactly what someone is trying to do and they are getting push back doing just that.
@@kevinmach730 Yeah I cannot imagine spending all that money and having all of these random people telling you what to do with your property 🤦♂️
Wish Meijers would come to the East Coast, we have a Kmart that has been closed five years.
I wish Meijers would come to the East Coast too.Been saying that for years.

The area is an eyesore. Something needs to be built there. If Meijer doesn't build there, maybe a dog walk park can be built on that site.
Oh, are the residents going to buy the land and pay to build a dog park? The land isn’t owned by the city.
That property needs to be redeveloped. It's been vacant and vandalized for almost a decade now and is an eyesore.
Thats a bad idea

Lovely Livonia...🤣🤣

Put in a casino.
Townhouses developments tend to become ghettos as they age, do something different!
so who can afford $2,500, it will be like those fancy apts they built near me that are now section 8 apts with criminals galore
Kind of a dumpy area
Hum

This is how residents of Detroit should act when outsiders come to their neighborhoods and build businesses that are no good for their communities.
