Hey they made "the way you compute tonight" work in the 2022 orchestra. If they could make a song like that into a orchestra masterpiece I'm sure they'll fit this song in it perfect
I think it’ll fit perfectly, in fact I think a saxophone to replace the main synth would work really well, they could go for a whole jazz cover kind of feel.
I know that realistically Balatro won't win GOTY, but not only does the game get more recognition but we also get to hear the orchestra play this already masterpiece of a soundtrack and I'm all for it
It's the same theme for hours with some variation for what you are doing, but it never, ever gets old. It's the dictionary definition of evergreen music.
I love how it's just the one theme but it seamlessly changes depending on what's happening. It's basically a 4 minute loop but you can play for hours and not get sick of it.
I've played this game for over 50 hours and still haven't gotten tired of the background music even though it's basically just one track with minor variations. That's an incredible achievement!
thats gotta be one of the most hypnotic *single track* game OSTs out there lmao usually its a very risky move just to have a single track looping over and over again, but here I'd even go as far as saying it benefits the game's vibe
Welp the secret ingredient from this ost is adaptive music where in some moment like shopping for joker and facing a boss changing the music slight different melody
@@robertonome2448 I agree completely! I also have a feeling some of it comes down to the song being in 7/4, which people aren't generally used to, so the skipped beats subconsciously just keep being interesting even though they aren't new info after a while
Might be my single favorite video game track ever. I listen to it while doing school work, programming, household chores, etc. There's just something so meditative about it but rhythmically interesting enough to keep me focused
Mastered the art of relistenablility, 50 hours of gameplay and still listen to it while driving/working. Such pleasantness cannot seem to get tired of it
For me, I think it could be a tension thing. My ears aren't musical trained, but I can't hear a part of the song that feels like a resolution, you know? 7/4 adds to that, seeing as the 8th beat is a common place to throw resolutions, outright skipping it keeps the feeling of tension going. It's a very chill tension, but it's there
@@user-eg6fl6lr7e That's a good way of explaining it. To me it's more of a waltz where my ears separate the full 7/4 bar into a 4/4 bar and a 3/4 so it flows between the two.
This game is peak psychedelic vibes and the music helps TONS with that. Could listen to it for hours. The boss blind theme is so oddly menacing and the moment the blind is defeated, the music change is soo relieving. Masterfully made, great job!
On the boss blind I'm pretty sure it's that background organ sound (at least I think that's what the sound is going for) that makes it more tense/menacing. It does its job so well
Request: would you please copy and paste this anywhere into the TH-cam description, which would generate in-video timestamps? What a wonderful suite of tracks.
your music is a major reason why this game is such a good time. just subtle enough to never become annoying when listening to it for hours, while still being extremely catchy and smoothly produced/constructed
I hope this goes down in history as one of the greatest pieces of video game music ever composed. It takes magic and some secret sauce to make a four minute loop this addictive.
Dude you went INSANE on this soundtrack. Legit blown away and my brother and I are loving every second. Please put this on streaming so we can get you some $$ there too, even if only a little gets to you 🤞
Putting it up on bandcamp would be the best imho. Imagine paying like 3 bucks for this track (most of which the artist will receive) and you can listen to this banger anywhere at any time :)
there's something in this song that just grabs you and never let go. My friend came to my place one day and showed me this game. the volume was really low and he was talking over it about the game, but the music immediately peaked my attention. The game looked fun and all, but holy shit, this music...
It's rare for music to be so good that, despite the option of just throwing the TH-cam video into one of those MP3 rip websites, I go ahead and legitimately BUY it. This is one of those times. This game and everything about it should be supported.
I’m convinced this music is what snagged me in and the gameplay addicted me. Ironic given it’s a poker rogue like. But thank god Steam randomly recommended me this! An absolute vibe.
i dont know how a single looping theme song could have SO MUCH replayability, its so impressive, that it almost comes off as this song possessing magical properties.
When I first bought Balatro I played it so much that my brain started piecing together the theme out of random noises and made me hallucinate it for a couple of weeks. Was a pretty neat time in my life.
Not only did you make such a sick banger, you did the unimaginable and have them mixed like in the game, perfect thinking music, thank you for the amazing work!
Need a tool that seamlessly transitions and loops between all the different versions. It'd be so cool to be able to just put it on for like 2 hours straight without worrying about how it loops and shuffles.
It’s absolutely impressive what you accomplished with this track. I can’t believe I’ve listened to this for 20+ hours and I’m still enjoying it. Compositionally astounding.
I can’t stop gushing over this OST. So thoughtfully put together and atmospheric to the max. Whether it’s playing Balatro or something vibing with homies in a sesh circle, it’s absolutely perfectly suited. (See what I did there? Suited? Like cards? Hehe)
Amazing soundtrack that, just like the game itself, accomplishes so much while keeping it so simple. It just works. Something you can listen to for hours that never becomes repetative. And the squeeze and release feeling of fading in and out of the boss theme is just superb. When it fades from the boss theme to the main theme for the first time you just realize how much you've been holding your breath, and all the details coming back into the music feels like such a relief. Just amazing.
This is one of those rogue like games I can play for literally hours. I've bought it on everything I have, PC, switch, and mobile soon. You are the best, Balatro Dev, I love you.
With the demo and the full release, I've listened to the main theme for about 100hrs and I'm still not tired of it. You really knocked it out of the park, top quality.
I'd like to second my brethren and state that this composition does not, in fact, bore you in spite of the many hours spend receiving it. Stay pegged everyone.
I love the boss portion of this soundtrack. No lead, no solos, just that two-note drone for the entire duration of the boss blind which really helps intensify the moment. Specially when you barely have the build to beat it.
This is psychedelic heaven. You really helped A LOT to give this game its hypnotic vibe, this OST seriously is an integral part of the experience. Masterfully done.
This is playing on a neverending loop in my head now. Good thing it's great. I love love love how seamlessly it transitions from one version to another as you play the game.
This might be the best background music ever. Like, I don't think there is any better music for when listening to music isn't the main thing you're doing. I can genuinely listen to this for hours if I'm working on something.
There's a moment in this song, where in the game you realize you have a hand with no winning moves... come to think of it, the whole song really is that moment. It's very bittersweet.
That song is amazing for any kind of planning. I'm feeling like a hero in a suit and drinking whiskey during consideration of very difficult and influential decisions.
This is gonna sound so out of place in the TGA orchestra and I'm so there for it
