I assume it's because he's not officially part of the Avengers in the ultimate universe since he's not their aliy or even a hero/ anti hero he's a genuine straight-up monster. They probably thought they used that story arch well enough in the last movie, although I do think we could've seen more of him fighting the aliens even alone
