Not really. Ultron is the best Avengers villain for a reason. Thanos wins most fights by sheer force but Ultron is that super computer that was a existential threat to the team while Thanos posed a intergalactic threat to the universe. Pedantically, the limitation doesn't exist if for some reason the "universes" are part of a single Marvel Universe
Like the MCU's what if was able to circumvent the rule because the "universes" were branching timelines from Earth-199999, so any branch can use stones from another branch.

The new writers keep forgetting that each universe has their own infinity Stones and they don't work outside their own universe...sigh
There are exceptions. Like how Loki used the main infinity gems to destroy the rest, as the main are the most powerful.
Except these would be the "main" stones from this game's verse, rather than the actual main verse.
That was a Retcon in the first place, originally the stones works everywhere then Hickman retconned them to only work in their native universe. Back then there's no alternate infinity stones, read classic infinity gauntlet and sequel with magus acquiring the infinity gems ,also Avengers/ultra force
