Fairly simple and straight forward driving game based off of the TV show. Features a bunch of levels that change a little bit in graphics but otherwise, they all play the same. -

I always felt sorry for Michael because he was always fighting for a vacation. The entire time the show was on the air, all he wanted was a week off.
Man, I remember this playing game back then in 1992. It took me a while but I finally beat it, pretty tough one too.

When this game first came out I was super excited now I can finally tell my friends I drove kitt this game was a lot of fun tough game to but fun
New York, Houston and Las Vegas had the prettiest levels. Also my god this game screams nostalgia, it was the first NES game I ever finished. It took me months!

@@TimBoyd2012 I meant more the general atmosphere, like the palettes they used for the levels I mentioned. it's a nice change of scenery from the other levels

@Mike Driggs So did KARR but and yet we never see that team up come to life, a team up so frightening and diabolical that the 80 TV show didn’t want to do.
Garth Knight and KARR had the same agenda destroy Michael and KITT in a head to head fight they are both evenly matched except Garth and KARR are willing to kill.
Such shame they didn't attempt cover of the TV intro theme.
Tough to do on a nes size sound chip
There's a PC Engine version of the game that features the theme song. It's on Knight Rider Special. Unfortunately, because that game was released on the PC Engine, the in-game text is in Japanese.

I remember seeing this game on the rack and I was with my mom. Being a huge knightrider fan, I demanded my mom to get me this game. She did and when I popped it in, extremely disappointed. This was back in 1990. Either way still cool to see that someone did beat this game
It probably had more to do with copyright issues...
It’s impressive how many times Garth was able to get Goliath rebuilt in this game, hell in the middle of a fight in the final stage.

The music for the driving levels is from one of the “MTN Gang” episodes, and also used sound effects from this game where a car drove away. That might be used on many of my “MTN Gang” episodes as well.

My favorite NES game and Knight Rider is always my favorite TV series. But sometimes this game is too hard on my thumb because KITT is so Fast!

This game should be a no-brainer for a remake, just imagine the game with a forza like engine, in-cockpit view outside the kit car view, knight rider theme playing in the background, open world setting, taking on the missions...it would be AWESOME! .....But won't ever happen though.... : (

The 2002 game sort of got it right but needed to be open world.
I used to play this game as a kid as well. I unfortunately didn't go very far with this. I just kept of driving the car until KITT ran out of gas.

The proportions were all messed up in this game. KITT looks like he's the size of a big rig compared to the other cars on the road and the power bulge in the hood is supposed to be off to the left side not directly in the middle
They should do this on ps4 or Xbox today. That shit would be so fucking cool. Meeting up at the Semi, having Bonnie constantly updating Kitt for various missions an so forth.

The Knight Rider PC and PlayStation 2 games are so much better than this NES game in my opinion, though I wish the PS2 versions came out in North America. But this NES game looks good.

All they needed to do was copy chase hq,make it cool looking with kitt and stick in the Knight rider music and instead of a police siren when you catch up to the criminals to pursuit and take them down,you get some beats and the sound of kitt's woo woo .. chase hq meets rad racer and Knight rider,alternative stages could be off road like the driving stages in bayou Billy where you need to go up and down sand dunes and shoot helicopters and shit

I've got this game in the original box with the original manual and I'd have to agree. While the game is good graphically and the game play is nice, it's the same thing over and over 🤷♂️

KITT had a laser power pack, he also had a flame thrower at the rear, did you not watch the TV series?
You obviously didn't see the episode when KITT got upgraded with weapons.
In the Knight Rider 2 for the PC/PS2 they ended up taking it a step further and kitted KITT out with tons of weapons.

Unfortunately at the time of the NES coming out memory was extremely limited and very expensive, so doing an ending anything like what would be possible now would have been out of the question at the best of times; there simply was not enough storage space.
