What I love most about this is the visible weight falling off Su‘s shoulders at the end. They were so happy to have made this step, it’s so great to witness. You talking about the band reminded me that there‘s another absolute gem that will blow you away: Rondo Of Nightmare with the Mischief of the Metal Gods intro. You will love that!
The one thing I've noticed since I started my J-rock/J-metal journey in 2019 is that I'm a much happier person. Babymetal, Band-Maid, Nemophila....they all have such positive messages while still having that hard, heavy, heart pounding sound. And I'm "all in" on every bit of it!!
It is pretty amazing that you can have such a hard song whose lyrics are not only pushing anti-bullying, but also castigating people who see bullying allow it to keep happening.
Great reaction. Sonisphere is a festival held at Knebworth House near Stevenage, just north of London. It does have a slope that forms a natural sort of bowl shape, but it isn't deep. The last time I was there was 1979 - Led Zeppelin were headlining. As you were told, this was BABYMETAL's first tour outside of Asia, their first major event outside of Japan (they had played two small venues in Paris and Cologne leading up to this) and, apart from some fans who had managed to get there and some people who had seen the 'Gimme Chocolate' video (many of those thought it was a joke or a gimmick and had threatened to throw missiles and boo them off stage, especially when they heard they had been moved to the main stage rather than playing the small side stage they had originally been booked to play on), the vast majority of that crowd had no idea who BABYMETAL were or why there were 3 small Japanese girls in red tutus on the main stage at one of the biggest metal festivals. There were 50-60k people there that day, it was BABYMETAL's very first time in the UK. They had about 25 minutes, just 5 songs, to win this crowd over. Before they walked on stage they could not see the crowd and were worried nobody had come to see them. When they walked out they were faced with this sea of puzzled faces. Su-metal has said when they walked out she saw the puzzled looks and thought to herself "This will be fun. Let's knock it out of the park." This is also one of the biggest moments in BABYMETAL's history and one they remember fondly. Their first time in the UK, their first major event outside of Japan, their biggest audience up to that time and it was a metal festival. At the end they finally felt accepted by the metal community and it gave them confidence for the future ... you can see the pure joy on Su's face as she waves just after her last "We are". Su was 16, Yui and Moa just turned 15 (Moa's birthday was the day before this show). 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (just call it IDZ, we will all know what you mean) translates as Bullying, No More, For Ever. The lyrics are actually quite deep talking about those who stand by and do nothing about the bullying being as big a part of the problem as the bullies themselves. It is one of their very first songs, it is still as good (and as relevant, sadly) today as the first time they played it. You heard right, the crowd at the end were shouting "we want more" and for "one more song" as they walked off stage at the end after their "See you".🤘🦊🤘 They got the biggest mosh pits of the weekend and their merch outsold every other band playing that weekend (some of the biggest names in metal were there too). I like how the choreo tells the story of the song too with Yui and Moa fighting each other until Su steps between them and threatens to kick them both in the head if they don't stop bullying each other. The Kami Band in this one were Mikio Fujioka (RIP Jan 2018) and Leda Cygnus on guitars, BOH with his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. You can see more of the Kami Band - they get to do instrumental intros sometimes - try 'Catch Me If You Can' live at Budokan Black Night and 'Rondo of Nightmare', also live at Budokan Black Night.
_Kitsune tobe!_ 🦊🤘🙅♂️ The moment 60k UK metalheads fell under the spell of the Fox God, the rest is history. This is also know as "the miracle of Sonisphere", because it really was, our girls said this was a dream come true. Some people over there never heard them before, and they will never forget the impact they had on them that day and even after that travel to Japan to see them once again, not to mention that they sold out every merch available after the show. Song lyrics is about giving a global message to stop bullying in the world, such a powerful message, title means literally "No More Bullying Forever". There was a "BM for Sonisphere" campaign made by fans around this time, probably this help out a little bit, they had a previous top notch show at their own country when reaching the Budokan Arena in March 2014 at such young age and they made clear about their plans on World Tour domination, and Sonisphere was just around the corner when planning Europe Tour so they contacted the organizers and were schedule for the Bohemian Stage, a smal tent comparing to the bigger stages, but since they got a lot of attention from the music press around the world, rock/metal and general music press and also the insane amount of views from Gimme Chocolate! MV it was no brainer to switch and give them the Apollo stage, one of the main stage were bands like Limp Bizkit, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Metallica, Alice In Chains among many others played too. There's a lovely fancam footage with our girls in her regular dress watching Slayer from the backstage, you can really see how they wanted to learn more about this metal world. One thing i noticed is many fans point out about them being "nervous", althou they might look like that, they weren't exactly super nervous, they said on interviews they were mostly surprise and interested about knowing other foreign crowds and their way to interact with the music, it was really fun for them and they were expecting some people probably not liking them but they believe in what they're doing and they felt after every song the people were more and more interested and involving with the crowd participation, from the stage to all the way back, they realized songs don't need words to be feel it, if it's really interesting to hear. Probably what makes people think they were nervous is a couple of things like: the flag stuck on YuiMetal's head or MoaMetal making a mistake when starting the first song "Babymetal Death", also there's a picture of the girls behind the scene just about to start this show looking worried or "terrified", but i think it was mostly surprise faces when you're in shock, and MoaMetal mistake was probably because she noticed YuiMetal struggling with the flag and that made her distract, and YuiMetal is also known as Yuibot, she can go on perfectly in sync no matter what, that's why is also known as the angel of dance. SuMetal death stare is relentless, you don't wanna mess up with her when commanding for a wall of death.👀 The Kami Band here are: Leda Cygnus and Mikio Fujioka (R.I.P.) on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. At the end they're saying "We Are BabyMetal!", like in almost every live concert to make feel everyone part of the show, is also a line borrowed to X-Japan, another legendary japanese metal band. During this performance if you look close YuiMetal had her dress torn and a piece of red tutu is floating around annoying her peformance a little bit, there were more troubles you won't notice hear, like the IEM device of MoaMetal not working, or when she fell down during the battle scene but they keep going no matter what, it's all about rehearsals and more rehearsals, practice makes the master. Yesterday they started the Europe Tour in Oslo but this song wasn't included in the setlist, we'll see if they play this in another show. And yup, like you heard at the end the crowd is chanting "We want more!", cool you watch this until the end, some reactors don't do that and it's really annoying. Kitsune up and see you next time!🦊🤘🔥
The day that BABYMETAL truly started their world domination. And @5:55 Queen Su's look of being pleased at the chaos they created. No flashy light shows or pyrotechnics, Just the girls and the Kami Band taking over that crowd. Always leaves me in awe and teary eyed. Like a proud father. 🤘🦊🤘
This is a huge moment in BabyMetal’s history. The start of world domination 🔥🦊🔥 For more of the Kami band. Check out Rhondo of nightmare with Kami band intro
The girls sprint across the stage at the start of the song because this is a Wall Of Death song, usually they have a talking part before the song that ends with 'In a dream the Fox God taught us, Wall --- Of --- Death!. No More Bullying Forever!' then the song begins and when Su screams everyone starts running.
I mentioned Road to Resistance live from 2015 before. It's what they close their shows with. This video shows how much stage presence Su had at 15 or 16 years old, and really shows just how good the Kami band is. Another one that shows off the Kami band some more like this performance does is Catch me if You Can live with the Kami band intro, plus you will get to see and hear a metal song about playing hide and seek. I never knew that was something I needed before I heard it.
Niceeee 🤘🏻🦊 Love this song so much!! I can't believe they included this song on the list during their World Tour in Asia & Australia (especially Jakarta Indonesia) and the whole crowd was singing, jumping, moshpit, circle pit etc. Ahh I miss those moments lol xD And they also performed this song at their last show during their World Tour in the US, specifically in LA. Ijime, Dame, Zettai 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Babymetal wasn't originally in the line up, but they got so many fan mail delivered to the office of the concert organizers they had to put them in...also if you want to see more of the Kami band Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live is the best live show of them
This was one of BABYMETAL's biggest moments, very much like METALLICA's opening for Ozzy in 1986. From zeroes to heroes. This was the show where they put their feet in the door, and they have them there ever since.
They were chanting "One more song!" and/or "We want more". A great testament to their appeal considering this was BABYMETAL's first major appearance outside of Japan before the biggest crowd they had seen to date, most of whom had not heard of or knew nothing about BABYMETAL. By the end of the set, the crowd had been won over as you saw here. They then went on to perform a sold-out show as the first Japanese group to ever headline Wembley Arena. You are correct. There is nothing our girls can't do! I think you are ready for "BxMxC" Live and "BABYMETAL Death" Live at Legend 1997. Then you will be ready for "Everything You Need to Know About BABYMETAL - A BABYMETAL Guide" by Cryptic Misery. It is a 45 minute video, but we love watching reactors react to it as well. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘
I can only imagine how anxious and scared the girls must have been to be on this stage. You are one of the most wonderful reactors I have seen. I hope you will react to BABYMETAL as often as possible.
Actually they were worries nobody shows up and then walked on stage and saw the whole crowd and especially Su-metal was fired up to convert them all. 🙂
Always gives me chills and i have to wipe a tear from my eyes . Knowing what they had achieved here . Su's look of we got them always makes me smile as well 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
LMAO! I’ve actually used the blanket analogy to describe Su’s voice. It’s powerful yet comforting. Very historic performance for them. This was the Eastern Kami band behind them. You should check out Rondo of Nightmare with the Kami band intro to learn more about the musicians. Off topic, I grew up on the island just north of you. No wonder I like your taste in music. EDIT: I see Fluegelhorn just posted while I was typing this, concerning Rondo. A very knowledgeable fan. Trust him.
That's the original Kami Band in their original costume. They stop wearing white robe with face paint and replace it with black robe with mask in 2018. Many complain about the mask, but nothing will change apparently. You should react to anything from 2014 Budokan concert. When they still the original trio with original Kami Band and lots of Kami Band instrumental solo. And to answer your question about what Su can't do? Apparently she can't swin, can't tie her shoelace, and can't ride bicycle. 😁
The original Kami Band members were Hiroki Arai and Shiren on guitars, RYO on bass and SHIN on drums. They all performed at LEGEND I in 2012. Mikio Fujioka, BOH, Hideki Aoyama and Leda Cygnus are all great, but they came along later.
Awesome reaction! This was an epic performance. Totally agree, Su’s voice is angelic, calming, and melts my soul.🫠 For the song, us fans call it IDZ to circumvent pronunciation mistakes. This song is an anti-bullying song. A few key lines will help with the meaning (I’m paraphrasing off of memory here): “The ones who hurt me were not just anyone [the bully], but those who stood by and did nothing, it was my friends!” “In a dark room in my heart, I cried, alone” “Say good bye to myself of yesterday” “Let all the pain out, I will protect you!” Ijime, Dame, Zettai ee-jee-may, dah-may, Zeh-Tie Bullying, No, Forever/Absolutely/Never Also, if you like seeing the band more, be sure to react to: Rondo of Nightmare (Live at Budokan 2014). You will be blown away! 🤘🦊
At 5:22 @TheRealMcCoyReacts pauses after Su-Metal's first extended high note. Wondering.. "is that the death glare? Did I catch it?" I've seen this video so many times. If you watch closely, Su-Metal Crowd Control General surveys Babymetal's effect on the gathered masses. Sees that they have won over a notoriously difficult crowd even though they were not initially scheduled to appear on the main stage. And a tiny tiny peek of Suzuka can be seen, so pleased to be living her dream and bringing such a wonderful message wrapped in such a thrashy metal package to new fans worldwide! I unrepentantly fanboy over this rain soaked performance. Yui-metal struggles to keep a mischievous bit of her skirt in line. Moa-metal and Yui-Metal acting out the hated bullying and fighting with the choreo on stage. And the crowd chanting "We Want More!" as Babymetal give their signature "See you~" and walk off like queens! Ah.. man. Sometimes I even make it through the whole thing without happy tears. (Rarely! hahaha)
Yes, they were saying "We want more" and "One more song" as they leaving the stage. You might hear that hey were tossed up there to the main stage at the last minute but it is was more like they knew a few months in advance. However they were still nervous because that venue had a reputation for being hostile to acts that the crowd did not like. They also ended up being the biggest seller, when it came to merchandise for that venue. They arrived, conquered and have been going strong ever since. Please check out Karen Girls' Song "Over the Future" The Karen Girls is when Su was discovered at around age 10-11. Karen Girls is also has ties to Yui and Moa in joining the entertainment industry. In a way, it's how all three of the original members were discovered.
For the pronunciation, you can hear SUMETAL singing “IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI” at (9:57) in your video. The DU-METAL blog is a great resource for translations of the early BABYMETAL song lyrics, and especially for insights to the Japanese cultural elements reflected in the songs. In this case bullying (IJIME) is bad (DAME) definitely (ZETTAI), as bullying is endemic in Japanese society, at all levels, from elementary school to workplace, because of the intense pressure for conformity and the need for scapegoats.
It’s fun seeing a crowd of people being infected with Babymetal, a year later most of them were probably saying things like, “I don’t know Japanese but I know all the words to Yava and I identify with its existential crisis”.
I love their early videos. You can go a lot further back than this if you want. There are videos of Su before Babymetal. She was in a group called Karen Girls they had a full album and concerts and appeared on Japanese TV. She was also in a musical and of course Sakura Gakuin. The oldest videos are her singing at the Actor's School of Hiroshima.
Good reaction. I like their older stuff. If you like watching their backing band showing off their skill, check out "Rondo of Nightmare" with the "Mischiefs of Gods" intro.
At this fest the girls were supposed to perform on a small side stage. Somehow they ended up, nervous, on the main stage. Can't you see the nerves?🫠😉😍 Try their Tokyo Dome performances. Welcome to Babymetal.
Excellent reaction, thanks! Good point mentioning what she can't actually do. There are a few things that we know: tie her shoelaces properly, ride a bike and read manga. The myth says that she made a deal with the devil in exchange to be able to sing and perform like this. 😁 "Ijime, Dame Zettai" (you can call it "IDZ", it's easier!) is definitely one of my top favorites. Really love the final part where they do that key change. The song also has an important message, being an anti-bullying song. The tittle roughly translates as: "Absolutely no more bullying" or "No more bullying forever". What you witnessed here is incredibly rare. Think about the big picture here: three Asian teenagers (they were 16 and 14 at the time) in red tutus fronting a metal band playing at a large metal festival in the UK. What could go wrong? 🤣 This was their first performance in the UK and their first "big" stage outside Japan. And that was a massive festival with 50.000+ metalheads most of which never heard about BABYMETAL before. That particular type of crowd can be very disgusting if the band doesn't match their expectations (even booing bands off the stage by throwing bottles with disgusting content, you know...). Also the organizers moved them to the main stage several weeks before due the online buzz caused by "Gimme Chocolate" music video going viral. But they were actually worried about the possibility that no one would show up (they couldn't see the crowd from their position at backstage). The result? Walking off the stage while the audience was chanting for more (yes they chanted "we want more" and "one more song"). They also sold more merch than any other band that weekend (including Iron Maiden, Metallica, Anthrax, Dream Theater, Slayer...). This is what I call an epic win. Are you ready for a Su-metal solo? Here: "Akatsuki" (Live at Budokan Black Night): th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html Until next time! 🤘🦊
@@michelm.6033 No problem, haha... 👍 I know it's a bit silly but I always like to tell he story if there is the opportunity. If we know that is because they wanted we know. Because that humanizes them, I guess.
Yes, it's well known that our Queen was clumsy, careless out of focus when off stage. But the death-stare when on stage, even the poor devil can't stand it 😓. Oh, the shoelaces, that's why her boots don't have it when they performs unlike Princess Tomato(at that time) & Princess Dimples, and Momo of course. Talking about Princess, what should we call Momo, Princess Kabuki?
@@charleskindle Some actors and actresses slowly become their character when they play it for a while. Imagine playing Su-metal since you are 12yo. She's badass! Kabuki? haha... good point but I refuse calling them "princesses" anymore as they are all grown up. At most, she can be called 🍑 🤣
Great reaction. Su is such a great singer and watching Yui and Moa run all over the stage always fun. This is a number of years back before Yui left for health reasons . This is a great jam and the Kami band kicks ass as always. Many musicians have played as the Kami band over the years. Many or some of the original popular ones are from Japan but they also have western musicians that play and have played in the Kami band. They are like a rotating session band. You want to check out one of their jams try BABYMETAL | Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night. It is a great song with Su singing and Yui and Moa taking a break but the Kami band plays the intro Mischiefs of Metal Gods . Pretty kick ass. Another song I mentioned before of theirs that will make you smile and also think WTH! is BABYMETAL DEATH | Legend 1997 (Complete) A must watch for someone diving into to BabyMetal. I wont tell you what happens you will just have to see for yourself and all the fans will explain in the comments haha. No no its not cult 😉.Great reaction again. Look forward to the next.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Your pronunciation of the song title is almost correct. 🤓 If you want to see the band's virtuosity well, please react to "Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) Live at Budokan Black Night". That is 7-minute long video on TH-cam with amazing instrumental solos. The phrase "Dame Zettai (= No absolutely)" is originated from police campaign against illegal drugs which had started in 1960s. So this song implies that "Ijime (= bullying)" is considered as harmful and addictive as illegal drugs. We have to continue our efforts at home and in school (and in any society or organization or group in the world) to eliminate it. In 2020, BABYMETAL revived IDZ and have continued to perform this song in many recent shows since then. Su's matured voice together with sharp choreo by Moa and Momoko has different appealing power to the audience. It is probably their message to the current world.
Three little girls a "far way from home" dug so deep the Megitsune soul that day , even Old Ingtons of many many threes tells tales of being present ....Bless the Old Dude
Ijime (ee-jee-meh) means “bullying” Dame (dah-meh) mean “no, stop, or no more” Zettai (zet-tah-ee) means “no matter what” “No more bullying, no matter what!”
Pronounciation = E-Jah-May, Dam-may, Zet-Thai. Hopefully that helps. Also, for more on the actual band playing, check out Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of gods intro. This will be a song where it's just Su giving the 2 dancers a moment to take a quick break. Later on, you'll find that Su also takes a break and the 2 girls do a solo without Su. Anyhow, I'm going to bed, nice reaction. Looking forward to more!
Nice reaction. Greatest anti bullying song ever. An early show at this music festival and as you can tell they woke that crowd up. Became the talk of the festival that year and made the UK their second home. We're trying to get the USA to be their third home away from home. Mostly so we can get them to do one those epic level shows hear in the USA. They save those for the Japan home crowd. The trade off is we get better views of them being closer to the stage. They crammed in a lot of shows this year. So, no two or three show stops. Mostly one and move on to the next venue. The good news is they're already booking shows for next year. I think they really missed the stage during covid lockdowns. And just want to be out there performing. Many of us fans believe there is a new album coming. With Momometal doing some vocals with Moa. Like on the song Metali. I hope so anyway. Rather exciting to think what they would do for a whole album during this new era of Babymetal. I like when reactors go back and see where these ladies started from. And finding out how much work they've put in over the years. And just how amazingly good they were from the start. Imagine Su-metal doing a lullaby on the next album. She could sing anything.
First of all, I have to get one thing off my chest. I don't usually watch reaction videos. In most cases it's fake anyway. It's really different with you. You are authentic. You're up for it and have fun with it. You're not just interested in clicks, which I don't begrudge you. You're just about the music. And you can feel that. :D Ironically, I first became aware of Babymetal through a reaction video. 🤣 And here's a recommendation from me, where the focus is a bit more on the Kami Band. The guys definitely deserve more attention. BABYMETAL | Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night
I really do appreciate the comment and you taking time out of your day to watch! That's all I ask for. Thank you so much for your support! Music for me, just like millions, gets me through just about everything in life. It's such a great way for me to get away from it all for a while. 👍🫡🎸🔥
another fact about this is that their merch outsold every other band for the next three days. they did five songs. this was the last one. to show how confident Su is in controlling a crowd you need to watch Gimmie Chocolate from this show. during that song she has a pause and actually has a foreign crowd singing in Japanese. how many 16 year old girl can go in front a foreign crowd of 50,000 people and be confident to have them sing with you? there has been talk that they didn't know how many were there until they stepped out on stage. the talk was that they only thought maybe 3000 to 5000 people were there to watch them not 50,000.
They were meant to be on one of the side stages but gimme chocolate had just gone viral so the organisers decided to put them on the main stage in front off 65000 Iron Maiden fans,Yui had a peek through the curtain and ran back to Moa and said we are F`d have you seen them lol Poor girls were terrified at first as they opened with Babymetal death to silence from the crowd but it was not a silence of this is rubbish no no it was 65000 people with their jaw open stunned at what they were watching and listening too, here were these 3 Japanese kids making Slayer look tame.
The Kami Band from US are very good in their own rights, but man, the combination of Mikio, Takayoshi, Leda BOH and Hideki just used to hit on so many different levels.
This video kills me seeing MIKIO FUJIAMA soo happy living his dream playing (as rest of real KAMI BAND not fake america 1s now, they all loved going all around the world because of these little girls) BRITISH FESTIVALS AND TOURING WORLDWIDE WHICH NOT MANY JAPANESE BAND HAVE ACHIEVED, Such a great Guitarist with less than 3.5 yrs left. RIP MIKIO
Dude the Western Kami Band are proud supporters of Babymetal and members of The One. Without them Babymetal would not be able to maintain such a strong global presence. Take pride in the fact that musicians from other countries have the opportunity to be a part of this legendary act, not to mention having the career opportunity of being payed full time by Amuse to do what they love most. Babymetal was and always will be a force for change in the metal scene and will never remain the same. We will continue to see more things change for them drastically moving forward.
Nice Reaction! What Su-Metal can't do? It is baton twirling! She was unable to join a baton twirling unit due to production difficulties, so she had no choice but to join a metal unit. She was so frustrated that she cried. Now everyone appreciates the difficulty of the baton!
Su sounds better than ever nowadays if you ask me. This was a special performance, but for an update, I suggest a good recording of Clear Night, this year (2023)
I saw Babymetal at Louder than Life. It was great, but they played mostly newer stuff. I think Death and Chocolate were the only older ones they played.
They were children. They faced a headbanger festival with fans of Metallica and other heavy bands. Even so, they presented themselves with courage and determination. They were worried at first. They imagined no one would go. The face of happiness with the victorious presentation is clear. At this age, I only watched cartoons. They were already on gigantic stages. Babymetal enchants anyone who allows them to open their hearts to see these wonderful girls. After more than a decade, they continue to work admirably. Please react to the performance of Babymetal's song "Karate" at that same festival!
Yes you see more of the Kami band here because at festivals the company doesn't have control of the cameras. Also at this time they needed the band to get world wide acceptance because 3 girls dancing to a backtrack at a rock festival would not cut it. They started pulling back on the band at the end of 2017 to keep focus on the girls. This when they took the solo intros away and put them in dark clothing. In 2019 they added masks. Also towards the end of that year, they started using American players for overseas shows. They are known as the West Kami band. The west has done a couple of weak intros since.(East hasn't since 2017). All new stuff you'll see is with the west band standing stiff in the background. The East Kamis last performed with BM in January 2023: BABYMETAL RETURNS - THE OTHER ONE. In the DVD, there is no full shots of the band. Only can see them in a few distant background scenes. Kami Members in this video : *Mikio Fujioka* (short happy guitarist) who died at the beginning of 2018 from injuries sustained from a fall a week prior. Official video No Rain No Rainbow from Hiroshima, kind of play tribute to him, as it was his last show with BM. *Leda Cygnus*, Guitarist who hasn't played with BM since early 2020. *BOH*, Bass, usually dancing around, never uses a pick. Hasn't performed with BM since Jan 2023. *Hideki Aoyama*, Drums, 2nd Generation drummer who is smooth and stays in the pocket. Last performed Jan 2023.
This us a field not an amphitheatre. It was a crown of 50,000+ at 12/1pm opening i believe act on a Saturday. USUALLY ITS MAYBE A FIFTH AT THAT TIME AND MASSIVE SPACES. THIS WAS HISTIRIC FOR SO MANY REASONS.
SOME HATERS SAY THAT BABYMETAL WAS NOT FORMED ORGANICALLY. YOU CAN DECIDE FOR YOURSELF AFTER WATCHING THE "SAKURA GAKUINE" VIDEOS? SU, MOA AND YUI MET THERE AND FORMED A TRUE FRIENDSHIP. KOBA METAL PUT THEM IN THE "METAL CLUB". MOA AND YUI WERE ALSO IN A FOOD RELATED MUSIC CLUB. YOU CAN SEE THEM PERFORM AT A VERY YOUNG AGE IN THE "MINI PATISSERIE MIRICLE PATTY" VIDEO.
Yui and Moa knew each other before Sakura Gakuin started. They both did modeling for kid's clothing, and met while working. All three original BABYMETAL members (Su, Yui and Moa) signed with Amuse, Inc. in 2007. Sakura Gakuin officially began in 2010. Yui, Moa (and Hana) were in the 2nd generation of Mini-Pati.
official figures were 55000 but nobody ever asks the Satan slaves if they have tickets so the gig was probably closer to 65000,i was lucky to be one of the many and this was a life changing moment for me :)🦊
Next reaction with Kami Band Intro - "Catch Me If You Can" this - th-cam.com/video/ugnyM69LN54/w-d-xo.html or this - th-cam.com/video/YiAJeKgufMk/w-d-xo.html
What can't Su do?" ..... Read Manga and Ride a Bike... if you know, you know. When you hear the story of this show, and how people were planning on throwing things at the girls or boo them... How can you? How can any guy even think of doing something like that, when you got 3 young girls performing their heart out for you. Luckily nothing happened, and they became legends. 😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
Well after Babymetal Death if anyone had started throwing stuff at them the Satan slaves would have buried their sorry asses 6 foot under as they were there in force 10000 of them, rumours are they even got the London gig moved to a larger venue by threatening to smash up the city lol
You should watch how fast they run across the stage at Zepp when the girls are dressed in white. Here you go - BABYMETAL - Ijime, Dame, Zettai "Legend Z" (Live at Zepp Tokyo 21.02.2013) at: th-cam.com/video/fMbbvZoHjGo/w-d-xo.html
The band here is the genuine, Japanese Kami Band. Sadly they have since been replaced by a very capable version consisting of American musicians. The newer guys are good players but it just isn't the same. What you see here is the OG real thing. The musicians here are (from our left to right): Mikio Fujioka (RIP 😢) : guitar BOH: bass Hideki Aoyama: drums Leda: guitar. The Kami Band has never been an official part of BABYMETAL, despite serving loyally for many years. For that reason, the members have other gigs in addition to their work with BABYMETAL. The inevitable clashes of dates that sometimes occur mean that the Japanese Kami band has always consisted of a pool of musicians - more than just the four onstage at any one time - just to be sure someone would be available. One of the guitarists missing from this video is Takayoshi Ohmura who has been the most frequently appearing guitarist. Leda is taking his place here. Mikio, the guitarist on the left, tragically died after a fall. His bandmates and the fans were devastated. In addition to being bandmates and friends, Mikio and Ohmura had a teacher/student relationship as Mikio had been Ohmura's instructor at Musicians Institute Japan. Mikio was an incredible talent who played everything from metal to jazz. He was a master of harmonics and whammy bar. Such a loss...
These are not the original ones. For example, Mikio didn't make his first appearance until Rock Fes 2013. The original Kami band was Shiren (guitar), Hiroki Arai (guitar), RYO (bass) and SHIN (drums). The Kami band isn't officially apart of BABYMETAL and have other gigs because they are session musicians.
Yes. Truth.
Look up Hanabie!!! They are amazing
Let's knock it out of the park."
This is also one of the biggest moments in BABYMETAL's history and one they remember fondly.
You heard right, the crowd at the end were shouting "we want more" and for "one more song" as they walked off stage at the end after their "See you".🤘🦊🤘
They got the biggest mosh pits of the weekend and their merch outsold every other band playing that weekend (some of the biggest names in metal were there too).
_Kitsune tobe!_ 🦊🤘🙅♂️
The moment 60k UK metalheads fell under the spell of the Fox God, the rest is history.
SuMetal death stare is relentless, you don't wanna mess up with her when commanding for a wall of death.👀
The Kami Band here are: Leda Cygnus and Mikio Fujioka (R.I.P.) on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.
Kitsune up and see you next time!🦊🤘🔥
Wow! Thank you so much for the comment and all the information! I appreciate that. Thank you for watching, too! 🤘🔥🎸🫡
You haven't seen the really crazy 60,000 people Japanese crowds reacting to Megitsune and Headbanger. It's next level
The start of world domination
🔥🦊🔥
For more of the Kami band.
1:42 yes, it's almost like she is singing a lullaby, something comforting. 🙂
Babymetal performed at an amphitheater already this year: Orlando Amphitheater
Niceeee 🤘🏻🦊
Love this song so much!! I can't believe they included this song on the list during their World Tour in Asia & Australia (especially Jakarta Indonesia) and the whole crowd was singing, jumping, moshpit, circle pit etc. Ahh I miss those moments lol xD
And they also performed this song at their last show during their World Tour in the US, specifically in LA.

5:54 On the eighth day, queen Su created chaos. And she saw it was good.
This was one of BABYMETAL's biggest moments, very much like METALLICA's opening for Ozzy in 1986. From zeroes to heroes. This was the show where they put their feet in the door, and they have them there ever since.
Su's smile at 11:14 says it all.
You could go back to the very beginning. It's on their official Babymetal channel. pre Kami band as well.
DOKI DOKI MORNING official video.
@@autohmae 🤘😄💙
rondo of nightmare and yava and kagarou you get to see the musicians showcased a little more that most. :)
Still brings a tear and a shiver watching this historic moment not just for Babymetal but for Japanese bands in general.
Haha. Thats funny. 😅
Totally agree, Su’s voice is angelic, calming, and melts my soul.🫠
For the song, us fans call it IDZ to circumvent pronunciation mistakes.
This song is an anti-bullying song. A few key lines will help with the meaning (I’m paraphrasing off of memory here):
“The ones who hurt me were not just anyone [the bully], but those who stood by and did nothing, it was my friends!”
“In a dark room in my heart, I cried, alone”
“Say good bye to myself of yesterday”
“Let all the pain out, I will protect you!”
Ijime, Dame, Zettai
ee-jee-may, dah-may, Zeh-Tie
Bullying, No, Forever/Absolutely/Never
Also, if you like seeing the band more, be sure to react to: Rondo of Nightmare (Live at Budokan 2014). You will be blown away!
🤘🦊
There's a moment during this song where you see an expression on Su's face as she's looking at the crowd that says "yeah,we got this"🦊🤘
I love that moment , she knows they have conquered the crowd , she looks so proud and happy
At 5:22 @TheRealMcCoyReacts pauses after Su-Metal's first extended high note. Wondering.. "is that the death glare? Did I catch it?"
I've seen this video so many times.
It wasn't last minute an interview exist with the organizer of the festival which said they were moved a few months before.
Enjoying Su-Metal just humming. Your musical soul has been captured by our Queen. It's a wonderful thing.😊 🦊 🖖❤
I personally think Yava is one of the least well understood song among Babymetal fans.
Actually the oldest videos are of her in the Jewel Drop fashion show and commercial when she was 5 or 6.
The oldest video of her career is not her singing but she is on stage, look up the video: Suzuka Nakamoto ☆ kids Collection 2003 【BABYMETAL】
Good reaction. I like their older stuff. If you like watching their backing band showing off their skill, check out "Rondo of Nightmare" with the "Mischiefs of Gods" intro.
I actually just did that one today... and OMG! Amazing! I'll have that video up soon! 🫡🤘🔥🎸
"Ijime, Dame Zettai" (you can call it "IDZ", it's easier!) is definitely one of my top favorites.
This was their first performance in the UK and their first "big" stage outside Japan.
Here: "Akatsuki" (Live at Budokan Black Night): th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html
Until next time!

The deal with the Devil slipped my mind. Thanks for the memory!
@@michelm.6033 No problem, haha... 👍
I know it's a bit silly but I always like to tell he story if there is the opportunity.
At most, she can be called 🍑
🤣

If you want to see the band's virtuosity well, please react to "Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) Live at Budokan Black Night".
Su- metal can't ride a bike or tie his shoelaces 😁
But she declares that she would give up riding a bicycle if she could sing🦊🤘
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘yes she does have a very Su -oothing voice but then she gives that stare ......
Yup! It's soothing but at the same time pierces like a dagger. 🤘🦊
Three little girls a "far way from home" dug so deep the Megitsune soul that day , even Old Ingtons of many many threes tells tales of being present ....Bless the Old Dude
Stop making stuff up you looney, the first time I saw them live was in 2019.
Babymetal beginning
I know we've covered Headbanger already, but i don't believe we've done Moabanger yet. I think this would be a great performance to react to.
th-cam.com/video/MToMx6RCW-M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Jp1s1rRH2QU2Gh9Z
Ijime (ee-jee-meh) means “bullying”
Dame (dah-meh) mean “no, stop, or no more”
Zettai (zet-tah-ee) means “no matter what”
“No more bullying, no matter what!”
It is "to pat the toad" to be impossible for Su.
Pronounciation = E-Jah-May, Dam-may, Zet-Thai.
Yes it does. Thank you so much! Also, thank you for watching! 🤘🔥🎸
Great reaction to this classic performance! 🦊🤘
I have been waiting for this one! Thanks for reacting to it
You got it! Great song and performance!
Ironically, I first became aware of Babymetal through a reaction video. 🤣
And here's a recommendation from me, where the focus is a bit more on the Kami Band.
The anti-bullying song
E-zheh-may dah-may zeh-tie
another fact about this is that their merch outsold every other band for the next three days. they did five songs. this was the last one. to show how confident Su is in controlling a crowd you need to watch Gimmie Chocolate from this show. during that song she has a pause and actually has a foreign crowd singing in Japanese. how many 16 year old girl can go in front a foreign crowd of 50,000 people and be confident to have them sing with you? there has been talk that they didn't know how many were there until they stepped out on stage. the talk was that they only thought maybe 3000 to 5000 people were there to watch them not 50,000.
They were meant to be on one of the side stages but gimme chocolate had just gone viral so the organisers decided to put them on the main stage in front off 65000 Iron Maiden fans,Yui had a peek through the curtain and ran back to Moa and said we are F`d have you seen them lol
Poor girls were terrified at first as they opened with Babymetal death to silence from the crowd but it was not a silence of this is rubbish no no it was 65000 people with their jaw open stunned at what they were watching and listening too, here were these 3 Japanese kids making Slayer look tame.
The Kami Band from US are very good in their own rights, but man, the combination of Mikio, Takayoshi, Leda BOH and Hideki just used to hit on so many different levels.
BM live is the best. Worth your money
Watch their first live Road Of Resistance, Give Me Chocolate, GS, Sis Anger, Legend 1997....
> "Were they chanting 'We want more!'?"
Absofuckinglutely!

I’m glad you get as much satisfaction out of Moa and Yui with there punching temper tantrum head banging
The Western Kamis aren't fakes, and it's insulting to suggest that they are.
Especially in a comment for this song.
😒It saddens me to read comments from a Fake member of The One. 🦊 🖖❤
This was a special performance, but for an update, I suggest a good recording of Clear Night, this year (2023)
also suggest [BabyMetal]syncopation"2set" on here, lol
Just love this performace.
BABYMETAL FOREVER

😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘
I saw Babymetal at Louder than Life. It was great, but they played mostly newer stuff. I think Death and Chocolate were the only older ones they played.
🤘🦊🤘
No bullying!🤘🦊🤘
They were children. They faced a headbanger festival with fans of Metallica and other heavy bands. Even so, they presented themselves with courage and determination. They were worried at first. They imagined no one would go. The face of happiness with the victorious presentation is clear. At this age, I only watched cartoons. They were already on gigantic stages. Babymetal enchants anyone who allows them to open their hearts to see these wonderful girls. After more than a decade, they continue to work admirably. Please react to the performance of Babymetal's song "Karate" at that same festival!
🤘🇺🇦👻❤️🦊🦊🦊❤️👻🇯🇵🤘
Kami Members in this video :
*Mikio Fujioka* (short happy guitarist) who died at the beginning of 2018 from injuries sustained from a fall a week prior.

INSANE PERFORMANCE!!!!!
Yui, Moa (and Hana) were in the 2nd generation of Mini-Pati.
official figures were 55000 but nobody ever asks the Satan slaves if they have tickets so the gig was probably closer to 65000,i was lucky to be one of the many and this was a life changing moment for me :)🦊
One of the best reactions 🤣🤣🤣🤣I am still laughing with you Bro 😂😂
I think it's time for you to watch "Road of resistance - live in Japan" you are not ready...
Holy 💩! Haha. I'm sure glad they didn't do it. That's crazy though!
Well after Babymetal Death if anyone had started throwing stuff at them the Satan slaves would have buried their sorry asses 6 foot under as they were there in force 10000 of them, rumours are they even got the London gig moved to a larger venue by threatening to smash up the city lol
"What can't she (Su-Metal) do?"
Beat Moa-Metal in an eating contest~ 🍗🦊🍗Bring Moa Chicken! BxMxC!
real japanese kawaii metal🤘
You should watch how fast they run across the stage at Zepp when the girls are dressed in white. Here you go - BABYMETAL - Ijime, Dame, Zettai "Legend Z" (Live at Zepp Tokyo 21.02.2013) at: th-cam.com/video/fMbbvZoHjGo/w-d-xo.html
While her voice was fantastic back then, it's gotten so much better. Shes really grown into a powerhouse of a singer.
Rumours are after this gig the Satan slaves threatened to smash up London if the concert was not moved to a larger venue,it was moved lol
Please , see HEADBANGER LIVE LEGEND 1997, is the best performance.
We just call it I d z
Haha. Much easier. 😅
The band here is the genuine, Japanese Kami Band. Sadly they have since been replaced by a very capable version consisting of American musicians. The newer guys are good players but it just isn't the same. What you see here is the OG real thing. The musicians here are (from our left to right):
Mikio Fujioka (RIP 😢) : guitar
BOH: bass
Hideki Aoyama: drums
Leda: guitar.
@@Hymnodic The point is that it is the Japanese incarnation.
U need to watch babymetal sis anger
i think Su Metal can not ride a bicycle
