Tim Wells used a standard razor tip broadhead dart from cold steel to take down that black bear. He sharpened the edges razor sharp and loosened the fletching on the dart so it would pass right through with no resistance.
Great for anyone especially people that can’t walk or use arms very well. Got to get one for inside this coming winter. Makes surviving challenging and fun ❤

Answer to bear-is the 2 things! One is razor tip broadhead, two u take the cone off an put it back on but not all the way! Just enough to stay on till it hits the target an then pops off so the dart can carry through the heart without the cone stopping it! Found this info on some other video of tims I think lol. I don't recall the exact video, but I definitely remember that lil piece of information! Hope that help
I just got the Field Master version this week and they fly great. Couple months ago I made my own carbon fiber darts turning the points out of nails on a lathe and these are quite a bit heavier and pack a lot of punch compared to mine but I had to put that much air into blowing through my blowgun too. I am getting used to these so its getting easier to shoot these.
Have you seen the Slock Master 3-Blade Darts - Red Tail's ? Would love to see your review on those if you’re able. Really like your videos very well done thank you!
Tim Wells has a new dart that has a three blade broadhead that I'm going to buy. Also there is a dart called Whisper I want to try. I want to get Tim's fishing blowgun and use on a fishing kayak.
Great view, with one gentle critique. A field point is not meant to take game. Those darts will not do enough damage on impact to result in a quick humane kill - they are the equivalent to a field pointed arrow. While they will be perfect for practice, you're going to want some type of broadhead type dart to hunt with.
@@411Outdoors I personally would refrain from using them even on small game such as squirrel or rabbit as, while the injuries inflicted by them would eventually lead to the death of the animal, it would most likely take have enough time to allow the quarry to escape and then later expire. My understanding of the reason why we use broadheads and target the vital organs, is that the trauma cause by the broadhead will lead to the quick bleeding out or asphyixiation of the animal leading to a recovery. If you shoot a deer in the heart with a field point, it will eventually die, but will be able to travel such a distance before that happens the chances of recovering it would be slim. I hope this makes sense. Not throwing any shade. Really enjoyed the review, but for the sake of responsible and ethical hunting I didn't want to let this go without mentioning it. Hunting gets enough of a bad rap as it is. 👍

Correct. And his darts now are far more Lethal than that initial Dart used on the Bear

I got a 4ft cold steel blowgun.I practice quet a bit. It's really alot of fun.

I use an indoor catch box for the same reason.
Blowguns are alot harder to turn on yourself

Tim used a CS razor darts I believe. Sharpened with the cone loosened so it would come off at impact.
