You probably didn't do any major damage to the motor, you just have oil everywhere. Pull the intake manifold and clean it out. Also pull all your air intake clean them and the MAFs; drain out of every single plug, and fill to the right level. Dry Sumps can only be checked with the car running (usually); if I recall the R8 doesn't have a dipstick. Good luck, the R8 is the best Supercar per dollar available.
What ended up happening is you had oil clogged up in the catalytic converters. That’s what the white smoke was until you burned it all and cleared it 👍🏼
The excess oil was pushed out the cam cover into the vent ( PCV Valve ) which is plumbed to vent into the inlet manifold, causing oil to pool in the inlet manifold. Be a good idea to replace the PCV valve as a preventative measure as it’s not likely to perform 100% and could shorten life of the cats.
nothing makes me happier then a notification from ByB that they have uploaded a new video please man more content ur videos are so addictive i cant stop watching it plz do more rebuilding videos its very fun to watch
My heart sank when you said that motor is blown! Damn dudeeee so happy for you! Been here since the m2 days or even before, I knew if anyone can fix this thing, it's you! Well done!
Good job! Keep up the good work. The correct procedure is to fill 7 liters of oil, run the engine for 30 seconds and then fill another 3 liters of oil. Then check the oil level. if you need any instructions or tips just contact me Greetings from Germany
Just what the car needed. . A good rip! One thing to note, a new battery needs marrying to the car with the battery information. Failure to do so will blow said module.
This could have turned out really really bad. Can’t help but think how this video is gonna save so many people from killing their engines. The emotions were too real. Dope video.
Hey Tim, I have enjoyed your videos in the past but found myself tuning out halfway through. This new style of episodes is great. I really enjoy the change you made. I think overall the editing and flow of content is much better. It keeps me around for the full episode. Keep up the good work and I hope you get some more builds that show us your talents of working on cars in conjunction with the new style . It will be a killer combination. Take care
Good Job man! Don t forget to check the catalic converters, and clean the lamda sensors...when the motor burn oil they get very dirty, and they not send a 100% right values to the ECUs. This can limit the performance of the engine. Maybe you can solve with a new exaust 😏😂 Greetings from Italy 😁
good you were lucky on that dry sump oil system : if you touch oil again dont do on the ground the way u did with one jack , you need a lift or quick jacks to make sure the car is leveled correctly
Nice, glad no motor fail. I was expecting you sitting on the side of the road on the last test drive. Congrats on figuring out the complications 🤘 although I assumed you would.
Good luck in everything you do, I always follow you with love, I didn't give up on you, even if you were gone, I was sure you would come back and you will definitely have other cars to thank you, even if this really made only problems.....
did you remove the 3 drain screws ? + the one for the separate oil tank ! in the R8 v8 there are 10L of oil ! after the magic smoke now you can change your 8 spark plugs 😅
Great to see the R8 is running now. We want to see what is the extent of flooding inside. Cleaning it anyway is the next thing you should do to avoid continuous rusting of metal parts.
Hey theree im from india im watching your videos from the r8 series idk why but everytime i see your videos i always see a spark in your eyes and yes im now your biggest fan from india♥️ tons of support and i hope that r8 would be all good.
Yes Tim, BYB did it. Go treat yourself to a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, massage spa day to chill out and relax. U.K. so glad you got it started, driving pleasure galore. Tidy it up, full valet. Enjoy it. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice!! The car is sooo nice, it just looks like nothing ever happened

Every time you post a video and I've finished watching it, I immediately can't wait for the next video to know what the news are about the current car you are rebuilding!!! Keep up the good work! 😃😁👌👏
Awesome fix for 40 bucks only to brick the engine. NAW.. Yer good man. nice save. Change-up from having a rebuild, but the suspense is there either way!
Dam Bro I’ve been following you with the Audi for almost a month congrats man she’s purring now! Great Job and Very patient! you had me like WTF when getting ready to change the oil and then adding to much glad everything worked out for you man 👏👏👏🙏
I did the same thing when I was younger. I had a MR2 that took 4qts of oil, well when I got a IROC Camaro I thought, 4cyl = 4qts there for 8cyl = 8qts. Boy was I wrong. Thankfully the 80s V8 didn't have a high compression ratio Haha.
Watch for scammers in the comments, using his picture its not him! FYI
Thank you!
I really don’t understand the scammers!!
They are scamming like gifts 🎁 and to pay for the delivery .... bla bla .... and u know the rest, be careful guys !

Appreciate the comment Sam! We got the R8 running all perfect now, doesn’t look like I did any damage 😎
@@BackYardBoyz better do all check out.. afterall it sunk once.. saltwater really do corrosive..
When are you uploading a new video?
Probably water in the exhaust. Oil smoke is blue.
THE V10 DEFINITELY IS THE BEST BANG FOR BUCK CONSIDERING ANYTHING MORE THAN 8 CYLINDERS.
Do research before attempting an oil change unless you want to suffer a minor cardic arrest
Yeah, kinda like when Vtuned overfilled his drysump 720s and it smoked like craaazy...
Exact instance that came to my mind😂
What’s a cardic arrest?
