    Great video! Its great to see such remote societies in their existence.
    One big thing that did stick out a lot though. At the very beginning:
    "The Pitcairn Islands, the only British Overseas Territory,..."
    Yeah, no. Last time i checked there are upwards of 12 BOTs, not just one. 😅

      The islanders came from British sailors and women from Tahiti.
      You could say that the people of Pitcairn have their own language. Of course they speak English, but they have a lot of Polynesian words mixed into their vernacular.
      Some of the visitors may have been speaking other languages.

    • @vuho2075
      @vuho2075 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well, not exactly. The men were taking very young girlfriends. That's the Polynesian custom, but not legal per the UK. The entire male population served prison time for what happened. That was a long time ago, and I think the practice has stopped. If you do go, remember not to talk about that

    • @redmatters9318
      @redmatters9318 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@vuho2075 Very young girlfriends? Since when are 9-11-year-old children considered girlfriends to grown men? To suggest that this was a Polynesian "custom" is to argue that pedophilia and rape don't exist in some cultures because they are called something else. Don't excuse abuse.
