      strange thing is that the Mercury Marauder with a power of 302 horsepower and a gear ratio of 3:55 accelerates from 0 - 60mph in 7.5 seconds, compared to a town car that reaches the same speed in 7.3 seconds, even though the town car weighs more than 2 tons and has a gear ratio of 3:27. Something is definitely wrong

    Lincoln Town Car is the symbol of the classic big sedan. They look really nice. Here in Europe they immediately turn heads. I particularly liked the 2011 Lincoln Town Car, exactly the one in the video review from saabkyle04, back in 2011. Man, that car looked very pretty.

      A good car, but the bad thing is that it has a V8 4.6L 239hp _ 224hp and a 4-speed transmission that is slow compared to the Nissan Altima V6 3.5 with 288 hp. They should have added a 5 or 6 speed transmission with at least 290 hp and a new suspension system that was missing.

      @@jehadhjaya2767 Good point. It is still a very reliable heavy-duty car, but as you said, it lacks a bit of extra power and 1 gear. Even so, it is not slow at all if it can reach 60 mph in like 7+ seconds.

    Awesome video @Redline Acceleration! I only buy Town Cars and Grand "Park Lane" Marquis for the last 27 years. Never had a problem or breakdowns in all these 27 years. Well?? I've done a couple intake manifolds as with every longtime Town Car & Grand Marquis owners. Maybe a couple of sets of ignition coils also but these count as maintenance free tune-ups. Great video!

      But what prevents engineers from increasing the power of the car engine to more than 300 horsepower or even adding a new engine to a car such as the 5.4-liter Navigator engine? Don't forget that the Lincoln Town Car V8 weighs about 2 tons and produces only 220 horsepower and a slow 4-speed transmission!!! You know that the power of this engine is very modest compared to the weight of this huge car. They just had to bump up the engine power to 315hp, put in a five-speed transmission and improve the suspension and rear axle to be maneuverable and cornering and have access to power, torque and high speeds just in case they were needed.

    • @uscruiser
      @uscruiser ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@jehadhjaya2767 I think, they just don't want to put money in such an old platform. Remember, the average Town Car-buyer was old people or limousine services. In the 2000's Lincoln also introduced cars like the MKZ or the MKS, last one was also a big car (around 5.2 meters of lenght if I'm right), and those were avaible with 3.5 EcoBoost and over 300 hp.
      Also SUV's became wanted, so theres no need to put money in an old car like the Town Car.
      Same thing happend to it's sibling Mercury Grand Marquis and Ford Crown Victoria.

      Show me one other car of that era at the same price point as a Town Car that offered the same combination of size, V8 power, durability, and economical operation.
      The low output is because they tuned for broad powerbands and decent fuel economy (for the displacement).
      Must take real intellect to blindly bash something based on a peak output number.

      150 hp is a decent figure. And many cars back in the day in the same class as the town car had less than 150 hp, albeit not from V8. Even so, you had Mercedes with 70, 80, 90 hp. And none of them were bad cars, the Lincoln Town Car included.

      without emission equipment? It is strange that the V8 5.0 engine produces only 150 horsepower, it must be at least 250 horsepower, and the modular engine must be 290 horsepower to match the high torque of this engine, and so it is supposed
      to be
      V8 4.6
