This was years ago, some supermarkets in the UK gave "Green Shield Stamps," It was very popular with customers and the stamps could be exchanged for a discount on your shopping, or you could get gifts like an electric kettle, or something equally exciting. A couple decided to save for a car!!!! They saved for years, got to within a few hundred stamps and the company who did the stamps pulled the plug and stopped doing it. The couple ended up with huge piles of books with green shield stamps and nothing to show for it. There is no such thing as "free."

Not what you want to hear, but we love our Alaska Visa. But if it worked like your Aeroplan, I'd cut it up and never use it again.
