This is one of the most important soundtracks of my life, I don't know how many times I've listened to the whole album.
I´m still looking for the sound of those trumpets that have remained in my memory forever.
    Thanks so much Mattia

In my opinion this composition is one of the most neglected masterpieces in the history of movie soundtracks and I just love it. I've listened to the album so many times since I was a child and it still gives me goosebumps. So I was thrilled when I discovered your video in my feed as I really love your detailled recreations as well. Thanks a lot, Mattia!

I played this in middle school band, as trumpet. Was one of the most fun songs we ever did.

This and the _Band of Brothers_ theme by Michael Kamen are two of my favourite cinematic themes. Thank you for the excellent orchestration breakdown and mock-up analysis.

Excellent exercise! It's crazy how a "simple" pop movement can sound unreal with an orchestra.

Very nice job. :) I think the rhythm of the horn melody at 6:34 is right on the beat, rather than syncopated. Same thing on the repeat of that melodic figure with the trumpets joining in at 6:37.

Holy S#&T Your breakdown has taken one of my favorite soundtracks to GOD level! Please do the same for the Highlander score. It would 10x it's emotional value. You made me breathless with Robin Hood. Do it again with Highlander. Biggest thanks!

Thank you for doing a Kamen video! This cue reminds me a lot of his work he also did for band of brothers, specifically his first suite he did for the show. Anyway, great video!

Not disney, a company called Morgan creek. They distributed Robin hood prince of theives and it was their biggest hit for a while. Hence the callback on subsequent films.
At the time I recognized this music at the time because I'm old lol

Is transcription the only way or the main way you have used to improve? I finally understand how great it is to use in order to improve an planing on doing it every day. Your videos are really great and inspiring. Keep uploading. Will be watching them. By the way I really wish I could afford your course. It's my dream to being able to compose 20 century music. Hopefully I can afford it some day.

    • @MattiaChiappa

I had already been a musician for 15 years so I wouldn’t say the only way but sure transcription was a very important aspect of my formation. Master the score has frequent and generous discounts on courses, keep an eye out for those

MIchael Kamen wrote some amazing music. Great parts for brass players.. which isn't always the case. Really lets them cut loose (said the trombone play that likes to play loudly 😎)

    • @MattiaChiappa
      @MattiaChiappa  ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks! Just lots of practice my friend. Sometimes I just make some educated guesses. I may just hear a timbre but not the exact notes so I just make decisions based on the harmony or what makes sense for the arrangement.

youre amazing! this remake sounds so good. which orchestral libriary did you use for this? did you use multiple?
btw why does your metronome sound like someones fapping? :D or like some butt clapping action...

Sounds great 😊The Rhythm is a little off, and I think that in 6:30 the a note in the melody is part of a Bb65 chord, not a Dm.

Michael Kamen scores are hit-and-miss for me, but when he was on his game, just damn. THE THREE MUSKETEERS is my favorite Kamen score and similar to ROBIN HOOD. This brass is classic! Thanks as always for the interesting video. :)

    • @mnomadvfx

Yeah a great example of the hit and miss of Kamen was X-Men, one of his final scores.
Most of it is completely forgettable excepting the one score with Logan and Rogue which is brilliant.
